Hi from Western Australia.. Sorry to hear about the fire.. Fighting a fuel fire with just water at the beginning and no foam suppression till later on just doesn't cut it ... Here we have a company that will modify and install steel fuel tanks for the harvesters... Ours have all been modified with steel tanks. Here in Australia, you hardly hear about a harvester burning down... Here we have a fire suppression systems installed in everyone of our harvesters. Having this system in place reduces our farm equipment insurance...
@@daniedippenaar2224 that's a good suggestion to minimize static charge buildup, here our problem is the ground surface is usually too dry when the harvesters hit the field.. My grand father came up with the idea to mounted small single ripper tines to the header fronts to penetrate the soil and we have continued to use this idea as this helps to eliminate the static build up....
About 11 years ago my uncle's combine was a complete loss due to a fire while he was shelling corn the main thing is that no one got hurt or lost life a combine can be replaced a person can't
That’s such a supportive message. It’s always tough to hear about the challenges farmers face, especially during harvest time when so much is at stake. Wishing someone a safe remaining harvest season shows how much you care about their well-being and success. It’s a reminder of how connected farming communities are and the shared concern for each other’s safety during those critical times.
Agree with comments plastic tanks are not good. Should be outlawed for combines for sure and maybe tractors too. Lost a tractor same way in 2022. Once the fuel tank melted it was over
Unfortunate part of farming but at least you here to crank it up another day. Equipment can be replaced. Wish you the best and thankful for gods grace. Keep pushing brother!
glad to see you and others are safe , sorry to see equipment having to burn not good for anyone , some farms have their tanks on tractors filled with water just for those , and big fire extinguishers on combines
Sorry that happened to you man. And I agree with other peoples comments about plastic fuel tanks. With as much fuel as they hold they should not be on these big machines. At least combines for sure. But you got out yourself with no injuries, and it sounds like things got taken care of and came together pretty quickly for you to get settled with your insurace and get another combine in the field. That's awesome.... With that said, having been a service tech and service manager for a dealer for 23 years, it really pisses me off when people just ignore warning lights and buzzers and screens on their monitors! They are there for a reason people! That is to protect your machine, and yourself, and your investment folks!! If you get a warning alert, stop and check it out! You may save yourself a lot of money! Saw another one a few weeks ago where a guy ignored his low engine oil pressure warning when it came on. "Damn idiot lights. They never work right" was what he said as he kept on going down the field with his combine. Well, he stopped shortly after that when the engine started losing power because it was seizing up.Turns out the idiot light was working. $47,000 later he had a new engine in his combine. When they checked the oil on the old engine, it was not even on the dipstick. They drained it and got six gallons out of it. That engine holds 15 gallons. Granted, some could have blown out the exhaust in the final few minutes before he finally shut it down. So there was some really poor maintenance there too, but it still could have been avoided if he had stopped when his "idiot light" and alarm came on. Who was the idiot?
You’ve got to be kidding me , we didn’t need that this year but your safe , and combines burn regularly with that much dust . It’s been a crazy year so far , prices are down and you’re working your tail off getting the crop out plus the kids and wife . Hay it’s a combine and it’s probably better you got a newer one or batter one because I haven’t seen it yet . Regardless you play on my TV all day long and out of all the farmers I pull for you the most . Anyone who can think to take the tractor and shove the header off of a flaming combine well your the shit , save that head !! I wished I lived close to you and I’d help you finish harvesting for the year . Just keep your head up ! We love you buddy !
That seems to be the story of this year. In my area in Iowa we have quite a few people having combine and field fires. Anyway wish you best of luck on the rest of your harvest.
Your luck with fires is about like mine around sharp objects. We had a bearing go out on a Deere years ago and it was a total loss, no play before or after the fire but found out it was spinning on the shaft under load instead of working how a bearing is supposed to. Glad your ok
SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS 🚜 If you replace with same model buy SALVAGE combine from insurance company. I have done on trucks. Having parts or selling parts just made memories of 🔥 less dramatic as salvage machine was a Blessing . Time saver and profitable
Welll......all combines will catch fire if you don't clean then off regularly. Typically a caseih combine trash will and does get caught up under the muffler and will spread from there. We have had 2 in our area do that in the last 4 years and they were a nightmare to fix. This year it's been rough for dry dusty beans. We have been blowing off the combines every morning and afternoon and have been lucky thus far. Buddy still have 400ac of beans left and 50ac of milo so we will see if it makes it through
Dad and Grandpa had it once with a gleaner M3 where the chopper bearing went out. They soaked the hot spots in water and cleaned most of the chaff out that they could. They then went to get a new bearing and returned to the field to see that the fire department was putting out a fire on what was left of the combine.😂 they then went and bought a 1660 and we've ran red combines since.
We lost a tractor in june to a fire and we lost our baler the very start of september to another fire. Its disheartening to watch something go from perfectly fine one minute and trashed the next. Most helpless feeling in the world standing there knowing you arent gonna be able to save it.
Well, you started without a pot to piss in, started a family, took a solid look at what it today and made enough good decisions to have what your rolling now...Put the time and effort and now it was just one of them "chance it can happen".....Tested and trued now, you got a solid future ahead...You can weather the rainy days n make hay when the sun is shin'n like a crazy diamond...Way way to many of those poly tanks turned a piece in a flame show....
Surprisingly calm, almost nonchalant. I know it doesn’t help to get emotional about things, but it sounds like you have no worries about your insurance.
Glad everyone is safe! Sorry to see happen to any farmer! Fireman did good at saving the front and cabto be salvaged lol. Thankfully insurance will help.
We’ve had a few neighbors lose combines or atleast had fires over the past couple years. No fun, especially in soybeans or wheat. Glad you are safe and insurance did its job.
Combines nowadays are a piece of hightech, but not very good in sense of overheated parts. There isn´t probably no pressure from insurance companies to invent these things, as they are still paying all these melted stuff.
Seen some Australian guys have a water tank and pump hose on the front of the chaser bin tractor. Seems a good idea but not sure how effective it would be against a fuel tank fire. Plastic fuel tank is crazy you could almost call it gross negligence fitting that
Glad all is as good as it can be. So maybe they will let you keep the LSW tires. Take care and if you need anything I'm just up here in Sullivan county with many trips to GPC.
Question from Australia. What row spacing do you plant your beans, we sow at 10 or 12 inches. Bad luck about the fire. Nobody was hurt that’s the main thing.
If you have a good signal you can tighten up that header really tight to the crop. We run sf3 deere signals and we are running 39.3 feet on our 40 foot headers . Too many other things going on to worry about steering haha
Ethan my heart goes out to you. At least you’re okay. Insurance will do something.Thank you for doing what you do! And for busting your butt day in and day out.
Least ur ok, blow that motor an muffler compartment off midday, sucks to do it but it could save a life or the machine an i big headache, thanks for sharing
All I can say is,,,, your insurance man is going to buy you fire extinguishers for Christmas 😂 Been there! Had a cotton stripper go up in smoke one year. And almost lost a bale stripper that was a year old last year. Rock in a row unit,,,,, spark, plus big fan equals blow torch.
Glad insurance took care of you. I've seen a few of them burned to the ground. Carrying a leaf blower and couple large extinguishers might help, but you got to religiously check for buildup. It can happen to anyone.
I'm surprized someone hasn't designed a fire suppression system just for this type of fire considering combine fires happen somewhat frequently just a thought.
sorry to see that happen to you.well there is a bright side to the fire .numbewr 1 is you are ok and not huert.number 2 is you did not lose the rest of the field.
My Kenworth Burnt down 600 Cummings one plug in for block heater and oil pan heater fire started at the y in the fire wall I asked the fire Marshall’s when they were done investigation I farmed then I said what’s are the worst for combine fires you have seen he said Case IH and John Deere were the worst ones mostly the pre filter on case IH plugged off and started sucking hot air from turbo know about 5 in my area caught fire over this problem not saying that’s what happen to you it’s a know problem on case IH also same issue with Kenworth I had just trying to help people so it don’t happen to them
Glad you are safe. I always look forward to your videos almost as much as Sonne Farms. When life gives you lemons make lemonade.

Yeah, a claas is fine if u got dealership around for parts, service
@@andrealt9261I like John deer but are combine burnt down

We blow off our combines every morning when we check them and grease every morning.
Glad your safe and everything else was able to be saved.Hate seeing it every year happens.Wishing you a remaining safe harvest season
SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS 🚜

We had 1 to burn up last soybean harvest
So thankful to see you safe. PTL for insurance. Good lick with the new combine. Good luck with the rest of harvest and stay safe.
Damn bro, thank God you and the neighbors crop was spared! Nice when you have good insurance.

Brother I'm just thankful your didn't get hurt . Machinery is replaceable people aren't.
Glad you are okay! As always happy to see a video posted by Clarke Farms
Just glad you are safe equipment can be replaced hope you have good and safe harvest
I heard about a combine fire south on 257 and you were the first person I thought of

you did the right thing trying to save the header.i think something was leaking and got hot oil to start burning
Glad to see you are safe over here in Ohio we have had a couple of combine fires also if there's a good part of this is that you didn't get hurt
That's to bad sorry to hear and see thanks for sharing it is a big loss

Sorry for the combine loss, man. Put out a long compilation of your fire videos. Grab them views since you have the footage
It is good your ok.A combine can be replaced a life can not.
Cause of fire? Left hand chopper bearing?
Glad no one hurt. Main thing.
These fruits will definitely attract many customers.
Least ur ok, blow that motor an muffler compartment off midday, sucks to do it but it could save a life or the machine an i big headache, thanks for sharing
As a farmer I would never wish this on my worst enemy
I am sorry for your combine but I am happy that you did not get hurt
Then you don’t understand communists…
Glad you're ok.
Dis is a great combine fire video
Two combines burnt here in south east Michigan and 30 acres of beans 10/6 /24 dry as a bone and 30 mph winds.
Glad the insurance did you right . Glad you are safe.
What started your combine fire a bearing hit a rock what
A reciprocating saw is your friend in those situations.
Your alive. That's the main thing. Equipment can be replaced.
Are you going to buy a new combine
Awesome Video as Always!!!
DAMN SO SORRY TO SEE MY HEART IS WITH YOU BRO
You know I never see any one change the coolant on these combines or tractors
Glad you are safe.
Glad insurance took care of you. I've seen a few of them burned to the ground. Carrying a leaf blower and couple large extinguishers might help, but you got to religiously check for buildup. It can happen to anyone.
How do you like the tracks over wheels
Blow your machine off every couple hours. Takes a few minutes
They make fire suppression for combines now
I’m glad nobody was hurt!
sorry for your loss
The plug up!!
was the globe salvageable off the combine?
Glad you are OK.
When is the new video coming out
wow , at least everyone is Ok .
I wonder what cased the fire , I'm engineer by the way and that's why thinking of that 🤔🤔
How bad would have the fire been if the combine had a steel fuel tank ?
Glad you are ok, I can't believe they put a plastic tank on them
Can you sell any of the good panels?
Compressed air would have made a mess but might have cleaned better in the tight space.
Once you go autosteer on a combine you never will want to go back. So much easier to watch the header and watch for rocks
Had this happen to me about t 2 years ago on a brand new John Deere s780 harvesting wheat
As Donald Duck would say Thit happens.
The dust lights up on the manifold. And drops on battery side .
I'm surprized someone hasn't designed a fire suppression system just for this type of fire considering combine fires happen somewhat frequently just a thought.
That case combine really hated its existence huh
You’re gonna have trouble finding fire insurance if this keeps happening. Things could have gotten a lot worse though so it will work out.
How these don't have fire suppression systems inside is crazy
sorry to see that happen to you.well there is a bright side to the fire .numbewr 1 is you are ok and not huert.number 2 is you did not lose the rest of the field.
knives are wore ouut turn them around but to late now good beans
we lost an 8230 few yrs ago to fire. appeared to go up in smoke in the same area
Farmers do not spend enough time clean their machines
They take care of their equipment better then you take care of your wife!! STFU And sit down
what caused it ??? bearing ???
Glad you are safe! Quick thinking to at least get the head unhooked.
Doesn't the fire dept use a foam as fire suppression 😮😮
Been there done that. It is definitely not fun.

Hey look at the good part about it u got a new combine coming
Sorry about the combine
You ain’t havin good luck with machines burning!
Im so sorry that really sucks.😢
At the best is you are ok
