You are teaching Olivia amazing life skills! You are giving her Godly principles and incredible love. Bless you! What a lovely example to all of your subscribers. I appreciate you all.
Hi Al Gina and Olivia i hope you are all doing ok and staying healthy during the bad time the world is going through only have faith in life and hope there is light at the end of it all. Your family lifts me up everytime i watch your RUclips section,i just love how much you have come along since starting this it's amazing. The other day i heard you saying to Goose and Mavrick you might get them some lady friends that would be a great idea and give you another project to do as ducks love shallow ponds and their own shed plus they do lay great eggs for baking with. Love to you all from Scotland
Louisiana here! Making the best of it. Still working as we are considered necessary. Trying to get people to learn safe mode which has a bit of a challenge but we are doing it while still providing a service. Stay safe!
Thank you SO much for your beautiful video. I woke up feeling blah this morning. After watching your video I have a new happy look on the day today. Sending love to you and your family. Chicago Grandma❤️
Love how you are teaching Olivia the things she needs to know to lead a self sufficient lifestyle. Even if she chooses not to in the future she will always carry such fond memories and knowledge with her. Those are not just learning moments but bonding ones to.
Egg-cellent job separating the yolks and whites, Miss Olivia! I went to culinary school and saw many adults that couldn't do that so well. Al and Gina, you have a great kid there. Wonderful helper, always happy, smiling and focused on the chore you guys are involved with.
So happy for Olivia to have her baby chicks. She will be a good chick momma. It makes me happy to see how you always interact with each other. I look forward to each and every video, as I imagine myself being there with you. I have no family here in Arizona, as I am a widow, who’s children are grown and live elsewhere. I have been watching your videos for many months, and am so glad to see you all are so happy and are living a great life. Stay happy and healthy, the best for Olivia and her baby chicks. The waffles look yummy. God Bless 🙏🏻🤗🙏🏻
I really enjoy these videos that include children. It shows a great family bond and educates them. I taught my daughter as much as I could and now at 18yo shes very independent and can do just about anything on her own. She can change her car tire, check and change fluids in her car and a plethora of other things. All because I involved her in things i did instead of sending her back in the house when I was working on projects. Great family video!
I'm really enjoying your videos! I live in Virginia and am doing well! You both are so talented, your daughter is blessed with great parents. I love your animals....goats are so funny! I know Olivia is excited about her new chicks, but I can't wait for the kids to be born!
i keep positive by starting my day watching you and your family working together. your calmness and your thoughts are encouraging and inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet little baby Chicks Olivia. You have picked some pretty ones. I hope the little injured one does OK. Waffles...mmmm...and maple syrup. Y'all have a Blessed day. See you Thursday.
Good morning from Iowa. Love your family. I am a self-contractor staying home on my own free will, not letting any federal or state government tell me what is safe. Starting my peppers and tomatoes today along with 10 paw paw tree seeds. Stay positive everyone and YOU decide what is best for your family and enjoy the time together. Peace and much Love!
Love Livy's chickens, it will be fun to watch them grow, she will be a good care giver to them. We are in self isolation here in Ottawa Canada and a mid night tonight all non essential businesses are to close their doors. We are coping and able to get the food and essentials we need but then asked to go home. Our son visited us the other day and we had a wonderful visit through the picture window of our house on our cell phones. It is a strange time we live in right now and I have found the value of connecting with friends and family, giving them support through these times. Stay safe, Stay Healthy, sending hugs and love from Canada.
My friend has a daughter Olivia (Oly) about the same age as you. Out of the virus crisis, we too have decided to start growing vegetables in the yard. I used to have a hydroponic greenhouse years ago and it's amazing how little space can produce so much food. And since i like flowering plants, it was also amazing how many food plants have beautiful flowers. This also keeps us positive and busy appreciating God's gifts to all of us. Many Blessings - One day at a time...
The chicks are a great teaching tool for our children. I like that you are having Olivia doing everything, from ordering to helping with the heat lamps. I think you might regret that step board all the way to the dividing wall. It leaves a pocket between the door frame and outside wall and the dividing wall. We all know that any young farm animal will find a way into that pocket. Cover it or cut the step board just to be safe. Keep safe.
Olivia being your helper was awesome! Great to teach practical lessons during this time of isolation, maybe you can show her how to change the oil and a tire. 😁
We're all fine thank you Al! We're in Suffolk, UK. Hopefully the poorly chick will be okay and make a good recovery! :-) Stay safe Mr, Mrs, and Miss Lumnah! :-)
watching you and olivia brings back such sweet memories of my dad following around and "helping" with the chores. she may never realise later what a precious gift she has been given. Dad has been gone many many years but i think about him every day and still miss him
Thanks for sharing another day on the Lumnah farm.... Figaro is my hero, watching over the homestead day and night.. baby chicks are so cute... Stay safe
Olivia, It's so cool you are getting your own chickens. So excite! If She comes up missing she will be in the chick shed! They are soooo cute! The egg separating would look so cool in slow motion as would other things while cooking. Great job Olivia. This is how we learned to cook when I was growing up. At our mother or grandmother's side. We are Staying connected by calling and being sure everyone is still well and have what they need to eat. Our family is blessed to live close and can see each other. our goals: Growing a garden and learning to can the fruits of our labor and how to make jelly this year. Be Blessed!
Al, Make a outside light on the coop that you can see from the house to make sure the power to the coop is on. An acquaintance lost all of her animals because she did not know the power failed. Being able to observe from the house would prevent this... Or a WiFi camera.
HI! I'm a high dish individual so have been staying home. My boys make sure I have whatever I need. I'm sewing on my quilts in this time. I'm a new widow and find what I miss most is touching. Take care and God Bless!
God bless you! I've been divorced almost 29 years and live alone. Touching is important. I do find video chat w daughter and grandchildren helps, and stand outside and talk to neighbors ( way more than 6 ft distant) helps. God bless you!
Best Words spoken today..You thought of everything..Olivia to Dad after the build, supplying and supporting the baby chicks. You did great dad ...many Blessings..If your child asks for bread would you give him a stone..If they ask for fish, would you give him a serpent..YOU DID GREAT DAD! You thought of Everything! three of you.
Love your way of teaching your children by involving them in what is happening. We had chickens while growing up. Did you know, Guinea hens are great protectors of chickens and they eat snakes, slugs, ticks and chase off foxes and other predators. They are also better than most dogs at sounding a warning when danger exists. Great family teaching show, and a harty AMEN to your closing talk with us. God bless you all. p.r.morehouse
Your brooder set up looks great! The rate at which you guys get things done is inspiring. If I were you, I would consider cutting your board for the doorway a little shorter because it created a possible trap area to the left of the door along the wall for a chick to get into. I recommend this because I had a chick fall into a similar recess and they couldn't get to the heat lamp and it resulted in a loss. You could also just fill it with shavings so nothing can get trapped in there. I hope your gimpy chick makes it. We have had to create braces from bandaids for turkeys with issues and they made it! I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the great work!
Hi..... AL and Gina and Olivia nice to see you I love watching your videos, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🌱🐐🏡🎥👍👍👍
Awww the baby chicks are so cute. The new chick coop is so nice. I have been isolating about 3 weeks now and have my supplies and food. My cat is a great comfort to me. Stay safe. 💖🐔🐐
Here in the uk we went into strict lock down yesterday but I have been isolated because of my lung and heart issues for a while now. I’m so grateful for my family of friends who have made sure that I am staying fed. However the lack of communication face to face is starting to play on my mental health as I don’t do well in my own company. It’s a struggle today x
One bit of advice, if UK is like US do NOT watch the 24/7 virus coverage. Stay informed but don't overdo it. I had to step away & pull weeds in the garden or watch zoo videos to take my mind off of this. Take care.
I'm in Nebraska. I'm usually at work in an office in Omaha. We started working from home last Monday. I'm loving working from home. I hope it continues after the craziness subsides. Grocery stores in my small town have plenty. Except toilet paper of course. Lol But we already had enough for our needs. Our kids are grown so it's just my husband and I. He's an in home senior care giver and he's still working regularly with his 2 clients. We watch our church online as well as other church services in the area and our old church in Vista California. Lots of restaurants in town are doing take out. But i have enough food here and time to cook it. 😁 May God continue to bless and keep you and your family.
We have fixed quite a few splayed legs on chicken and quail chicks using bandaids. They stick together good but dont stick that hard to the chick. Just wrap each end around a leg, back onto itself leaving the pad part between the legs. The pad leaves the right amount of spacing for the legs to be apart. Usually only takes 24 hours for the legs to set to their new position and the chick is off and running. Bandaids work well for curled feet as well. Make them a bandaid slipper. Straighten out the toes, run the bandaid under the foot and up over the top making sure the toes are straight. Again 24 to 48 hours and they should straighten out.
In the UK we're now on strict lock-down. We can go out for some daily exercise and food shopping. But I have chronic arthritis so I hardly ever go out anyway. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my weekly supermarket delivery does include the things I need. So far family, friends and neighbours have been marvellous in getting me bread and milk. Your waffle making made me smile, but you had slightly less overspill than my microwave porridge - a combo of too many oats + too small a bowl. What a mess! Stay home, stay safe and keep smiling. xxx
Val Galloway, you're lucky. I'm in the UK, too, and chronically ill with five of the listed issues, but I've been unable to get any groceries for three weeks now. Hoping to stretch what I have for as long as possible.
I heat my bowl of water in microwave. Then add oats. If I have frozen berries in it, I add them as I heat water. The oats while microwaving seems to make it overflow and yes very messy! God bless
I have a small-ish bowl with a rim about 1/2 inch/~1.25 cm down from the top. I throw in a cup of oats, add spices, salt or butter before adding the water. and fill the bowl to the bottom of that rim with boiling water. I let it sit until all the water is absorbed. If there is ripe fruit in my garden that morning, I pick it when I let out my ducks and geese for the day; that also goes in the porridge, too. That's been morning porridge for the past decade or so.
Olivia, I LOVE your chicks !! My chicks are supposed to be here tomorrow, so I'm hoping they will arrive so strong and healthy as yours did. Hope the little one you are tending to will be ok. 😊
Congratulations Livy on getting your own chicks👍 Yay! Great snags Al! Livy's the house chef assistant from way back. Yummy! I hope your little Chicky is gonna be alright. Trudy with the tuft haha! JO JO IN VT 💕☃😊
I’m doing better here in Okla. Been home bound for four weeks. Probably have Corona. Have all the symptoms. I isolated myself when I got sick. I miss my family. My 89 yr old mother has fallen and broken her shoulder during this time. She’s in rehab and we can’t be with her. My 92 year old dad is lost without her. He’s taken care of her since she was 17! But the good Lord is with us , I’m getting better and it wont always be like this. So thankful I’ve had your wonderful videos to help fill my days. Praying for Olivia’s chick 🐥
You know, this is actually a gift sent straight from Heaven ! While Olivia is out of School, you could teach her every part of the Business , includes Math and all part's of School and she's so smart, it wouldn't be hard at all ! :)
We’re sheltered in place here in Dallas. We got some of our garden plated and lots of seed started indoors. Three new black australorps, two ducks and a Toulouse goose arrived a couple of days ago to be added to our flock of 18 hens. Nothing like new life to bring joy to your life, even in these CRAZY times!!🐥🐥🦆
Good evening, Lumnah acres, how lovely to hear the chirp of the little chicks and seeing Olivia preparing the brooder with you Al and cooking with Gina. Those waffles looked lovely, may I ask the make of your waffle machine . We are under lock down here in the Uk and your videos are helping me a lot. Watching all the animals on your farm is so soothing and what you all get up to, your projects etc etc. Have a lovely evening.
Love that Olivia takes real interest in everything. In Las Vegas, NV schools are closed and I am working from home. So weird to live in tourist town and it be closed down. We are staying sane by getting our garden ready, can’t wait for veggies and fruit! Thanks Al, Gina & Olivia for sharing your journey with us. ❤️🐥
Always a fantastic vedio of life, with faith in your heart. The chicks are adorable. Olivia is taking after you in taking care of G-D's creatures, and Gena in the kitchen and both of you in kindness and sensitivity. You are truly blessed. I'm a senior, 70 years old, high risk, and doing terrific. I have G-D in my heart, and angels watching over me. Oh, I'm also in New York. LOL. I have no worry. I haven't completed a few of my earthly missions yet. G-D Bless and stay safe. Perhaps because chick has hightop, call her Princess.
Goodmorning from alabama. Nothing like baby chicks. We bought a number of different chicks last year that we never had before. I love the Americana speckled Sussex an wyandotte s . Thought we'd had em all before. Watching all these beautiful birds is good for the soul. Calming an peaceful with our morning coffee. We have so many ladies an their so noisy but its so pleasurable to watch an listen. I think the good LORD blessed us an is there smiling.
Guinea hens are great protectors of chickens and they eat snakes, slugs, ticks and chase off foxes and other predators. They are also better than most dogs at sounding a warning when danger exists.
Thank you for Sharing! We are now relying on Social Media more than ever. Not sue what we would do without it. Just the possibility to see what is going on 24/7 is awesome even though some is fake. Common Since Rules!
I worked with my Dad and learned alot. I think of him everyday and thank God for what he taught me.. Olivia will always remember her days on the homestead with Mom & Dad..💗🐤🐥🐤🐥🐤🐥🐤🐥 Olivia👧 is great in the kitchen👍🏼 Our families talk on the phone and we stop by if we go out. I am delivering food to the kids today by the bus company I work for. "First Student ".. 🕊💗🙏🏼👩🏼🌾
What wonderful lessons Olivia is learning. Whatever she ends up doing in her life, she will have basic skills in home and machine maintenance, tool use, problem solving and caring for animals.
Hey Al. That board you put in the doorway to stop the chicks from falling out. The way you have attached it you have created a spot to the left of the door frame where a chick could get stuck as they get a bit older. If one gets in there they might not be able to get out.
What a learning experience Olivia is having being there on the homestead. And it is good seeing the new life showing up there. Cannot wait till you start the next project. I think I know what it is. Those waffles look great, have not had those in a long time
I watch every day and love the egg count guessing and Sweet Treat Co play. But today was absolutely fantastic when Olivia said. You thought of everything when you built it! I love watching the way you all are so good respectful etc w each other. God bless all 3 of you!!! Thank you for all you do
Daughter had several chicks in house a few years ago before moving outdoors, NOISY but fun. Yesterday in coastal Maine all snow was gone off ground, but overnight storm dropped 8 inches. Today, Tuesday, snow is again beginning to melt with 50 degree sunny temps. Only in Maine...SHISH! 🤪
Thanks for sharing your Family with us. I was glad to hear an update on that Chick, I hope she heals and gets better. Maybe a good name would be "leghorn" from the cartoons.
Lovely chicks! I remember our UPS delivering loudly peeping chicks from Lampkin's Hatchery in Skowhegan, Maine. The driver couldn't "wait" to hand me that box of stressed , chirping chicks! We are sheltered in place and working the farm. Our neighbors have been great! Small local grocery general stores will bring the order to the parking lot if you call ahead. I have discovered that milk freezes fine :-) We have ordered our garden seeds. Can't encourage folks enough to garden this spring! I just bought a nifty seed sprouting tower from Johnnys Seed to sprout broccoli and onion for salads and omelettes.
baby chicks Olivia what a wonder gift and blessing you have received - I look forward to watching them grow with you - good luck with the one with splayed legs I hope you and mum work out how to fix it
Afternoon from Spain we are doing well over here on complete lockdown so not left the house in 14 days it's a long time when you see people almost every day weather it be a farmer from the land around us or a customer coming to collect fresh eggs from us but to light the mood and keep me on my toes are baby goats are doing great without there mum and finding anyway possible to try and escape so that's keeping me busy nice to see you guys are doing well
Absolutely surprising to see snow again!👀 love you guy's story, I think I've found my homestead, renting it, not owning but it's a start! Stay blessed warm and healthy!🙏💞💯👍🏽
You forgot the honey in the chicks water, it gives them energy which is what they need for a day or 2. Really lovely video. I have 8 week old Cream crested leg bar, Black Copper Maran and mixed breed with an Aruacana Cockrel as the daddy. Awesome looking birds, they r now penned on top of one of my raised beds and enjoying the first real sunshine we've had in a long long time. Stay well and love to you all from here in Cornwall in the UK.
Goood morning from CA :-) I am staying in my apartment and "going for walks" with you, following your routine :-) Not only you and family are my companions, but also your dogs, , chickens, goats and of course Figaro :-) There is something calming in watching your videos :-) :-) stay safe!!! :-) Lady- great hair- not just today :-)
We are doing fine so far! My two sons were sent home from work on two weeks paid leave because one of their co-workers tested positive. And they won't come anywhere near our home because I'm immune suppressed and have six or seven including kidney disease, giant cell arteritis (cardiovascular disease), Arnold Chiari Malformation (2 brain/spine surgeries), and so on. My sights work at the air port and shower before they come over. I'm very lucky.😊
You are teaching Olivia amazing life skills! You are giving her Godly principles and incredible love. Bless you! What a lovely example to all of your subscribers. I appreciate you all.
Cynthia Tingler - That is a lovely comment and so true! They are a great witness. 🇬🇧

Sweet baby girl "you thought of everything " she loves her daddy
And she respects him because he respects her. It is awesome to watch.
What a beautiful batch of chicks! I hope the little chick improves. Those waffles looked awesome! Blessings to all.
Good Mornin Lumnah Acres so excited for this video of Olivia and her baby chicks🐣🐥🐤

Stay home, stay safe and keep smiling. xxx
Val Galloway , all the best to you all in the UK. Keeping the world in my prayers.
Val Galloway, you're lucky. I'm in the UK, too, and chronically ill with five of the listed issues, but I've been unable to get any groceries for three weeks now. Hoping to stretch what I have for as long as possible.
@@tardismole Talk to some churches in your area. I'm sure a kind parishioner will come to the rescue. It's the christian thing to do.
I live tha Olivia does all she does at home. Great young lady. God bless yall
Lake Erie says HI.....You can keep the snow. I'm waiting for our Spring Flowers! PS more blueberries......need to plant some bushes.
Congratulations Livy on getting your own chicks👍
Yay!
The chicks need each other for support and warmth. Even though the light is on a lone chick can get cold.
Ohio, doing well so far! Trying our best to stay healthy!
We got some wet flurries yesterday nothing stuck 👍👍SE CT.
Oh, those calico chicks are so cute! Congratulations!
Aww, Olivia's chicks are so cute! She will be a good mother hen to them, already taking good care of them. The waffles looked so yummy!
Olivia is going to grow up a beautiful young woman in the inside and out. You should be very proud.
Those waffles look great, have not had those in a long time
The baby chicks are so cute! Glad to see you’re using this time to get out with the family. Keep the content coming Al!
Good luck with all those wee chicks Olivia!
We are enjoying the down time together doing home projects. Taking care of our baby chicks too.
I watch every day and love the egg count guessing and Sweet Treat Co play. But today was absolutely fantastic when Olivia said. You thought of everything when you built it! I love watching the way you all are so good respectful etc w each other. God bless all 3 of you!!! Thank you for all you do
Little chick could be Nadia. So proud of Olivia taking on responsibility of chicks. The farm is waking up! Keeping all of you in my prayers 💕
A good Polish name!
You have a live stock guardian cat.🐈💖
Love the chicks. Olivia has got her a project to keep herself busy now that she is home. God Bless and stay healthy.
Thank you for posting. Ya'll make a spark in my darkest days. God bless you and keep you.
Thanks for sharing your Family with us. I was glad to hear an update on that Chick, I hope she heals and gets better. Maybe a good name would be "leghorn" from the cartoons.
Stay strong, stay safe. Love watching your life on the homestead.
I just bought a nifty seed sprouting tower from Johnnys Seed to sprout broccoli and onion for salads and omelettes.
i have found out also milk freezes fine but i found it a little watery once defrosted though
The Olivia video was great ;)
Ms. Gina eats like a person with a good hearty appetite!! Great to see that she loves food and is tiny still.
Im grateful I am ableto continue my medical treatments!
baby chicks Olivia what a wonder gift and blessing you have received - I look forward to watching them grow with you - good luck with the one with splayed legs I hope you and mum work out how to fix it
Afternoon from Spain we are doing well over here on complete lockdown so not left the house in 14 days it's a long time when you see people almost every day weather it be a farmer from the land around us or a customer coming to collect fresh eggs from us but to light the mood and keep me on my toes are baby goats are doing great without there mum and finding anyway possible to try and escape so that's keeping me busy nice to see you guys are doing well
Absolutely surprising to see snow again!👀 love you guy's story, I think I've found my homestead, renting it, not owning but it's a start! Stay blessed warm and healthy!🙏💞💯👍🏽
Congratulations to you! Keep us updated :)
A wonderful episode!🥰🥰🥰👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You forgot the honey in the chicks water, it gives them energy which is what they need for a day or 2. Really lovely video. I have 8 week old Cream crested leg bar, Black Copper Maran and mixed breed with an Aruacana Cockrel as the daddy. Awesome looking birds, they r now penned on top of one of my raised beds and enjoying the first real sunshine we've had in a long long time. Stay well and love to you all from here in Cornwall in the UK.
Al you're the Mr. Rogers of farming. I bet lots of kids are watching now that schools are closed down (let's hope they are!).
Hope your little chick will be ok.
Y’all stay warm,...God keep you.
Goood morning from CA :-) I am staying in my apartment and "going for walks" with you, following your routine :-) Not only you and family are my companions, but also your dogs, , chickens, goats and of course Figaro :-) There is something calming in watching your videos :-) :-) stay safe!!! :-)
Lady- great hair- not just today :-)
Figaro is territorial. He lets you live and farm there !
Figaro is great "watch cat" :-) He is watching if you are doing everything correctly :-) :-)
Looks good dinner. Take care of the chick.
Stay safe. God bless you and your family. Love your channel♥️🇺🇸🌹
A few years ago, I started wiring GFCI plugs on the outside of my buildings. They come in really handy, especially if they are out of the splash zone.
I've been watching you guys for a year now, I've learned a lot. Stay safe and God Bless.
