I can't tell you how invaluable your readings are, here in our small corner of the forest. After a long day of work, I couldn't wait to get back to a good story; tonight. Thanks again 🎩 🔝
I used to read Carnacki the Ghost Finder as a young boy in the early 1970`s and in those days, i lived near Blackburn in Lancashire, a place i believe William Hope Hodgson lived in for many years before the WW1. I have just found this collection of Carnacki stories and just love listening to them - they are all fantastic. Thank you good people (HorrorBabble) for the up-load.
I'm can't express how grateful I am for all you do here on this channel. I was so happy to see another Carnacki addition. Also just a suggestion, but i would love to hear you read, any choice of works from August Dereleth. Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen....
Thanks Nikolai - you are very kind. Did you catch our reading of Derleth's The Vanishing of Simmons? There aren't too many of his works in the public domain: ruclips.net/video/QRWeXLmcwJ4/видео.html
I did listen, I suppose it's difficult to find many in the public domain. I believe Ithaqua is, as well as the wind walker.. but either way you guys are doing a bang-up job much appreciated
I think it would be interesting to see a movie made from the Carnacki stories along the line of Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. With some of the steampunkish devices used by Icabod Crane.
I wonder if it could be made to work. Things that are narrated would have to be said aloud to someone, which would have to fit in the story. For example, in this situation involving so many police, could he really babble on endlessly about his mystical technique without either offending or frightening them?
There was once a TV series called The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes. At least one of their shows was a Carnacki story. The one about the ghost horse. It starred Donald Pleasance.
You've got a heap of great, loyal subscribers but it's criminal that you don't have at least 10 times that number. Your narration is diamond standard mate!
I listen to tons of audio books but Carnacki is new to me. I agree, he is a brilliant character, but your voice acting is amazing...I could listen to you reading a phone book! Guess I'm greedy but, I just wish there was an unlimited supply of these! Thanks again!!!!
"Carnacki, the Ghost-Finder" is a collection of occult detective short stories by English writer William Hope Hodgson. "and we'll have fun, fun, fun til her daddy took Carnacki away. . ." just great - thanks =^..^= n.b. except for the dogs - how hard would it have been to let the one out and grab the second?!
Kinda confused. So did the criminals actually escape or did some supernatural force spirit them away? They used the passageway easily enough, but when Carnacki and the police tried to get through, they couldn’t opened the secret door.
Now that you mention it, the Carnaki stories are particularly rough on animals. He's not wrong to do so, but it is a theme. "I wanted to see how the monster intended to murder me, so I threw a chinchilla at it."
I will never understand how this amazing channel only has 8.8K subs. Would love a podcast of this channel !
He has come a loooooomg way!

Sounds like an ideal setting John!

Thanks for listening, Robert! We're from up that way, too.
This series is excellent, both the stories themselves and of course the narration. Thank you for introducing these stories to me.
Well done Mr.Gordon and Horror Babble! Very good! Thank you. Excellent, as always. Until next time.
I love the Carnaki stories. I fine with this every time.
James Jones me too !!
"...and we'd 've gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids!"
This has been the most brutal episode of Scooby Do in history.

Possibly the combined work of H.P Lovecraft and August Derleth's "The lurker at the threshold". If that's in the P.D. that would be a great one.
I don't think it is Nikolai. That said, we may be able to secure the necessary permissions in the future. Ian
Thank you so much for posting this series I have been enjoying it greatly so far. Excited to see what Horrors we delve into here

I would love to see something along those lines. Looks like you've got some work to do Scott! Ian

Yea !! Carnacki!! Been looking forward to this . 💙
Wonderful, another work of art. Thank you very much Ian.

Very good narration! Thank you for the story.
I absolutely loved this! Your voice is perfect for the character. I could listen to you all day. Thank you for sharing 😍
Thank you Lori. I loved voicing Carnacki - he's a brilliant character. Ian

“Funk” really needs to come back into usage 😜
Thanks for sharing! 🥃

Great stories thank you.
Love this story, one of my favorites.
I'm going to look and listen to the other adventures in this series.
Thank you very much.
Excellent!
Every time an animal is introduced in one of these stories, you know it's going to be dead by the end.
Gold, thank you
And they would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!
"and we'll have fun, fun, fun til her daddy took Carnacki away. . ." just great - thanks =^..^=
n.b. except for the dogs - how hard would it have been to let the one out and grab the second?!
I know - these William Hope Hodgkin stories seem to delight in telling the suffering and killing of dogs. Not my cup of tea. 🙁🙁
I used to find ghosts. But when I found them... I'd fistfight them.
And guess what. I won.
I thought the title said among us. My brain is rotted.
Denis Wheatley may have used the pentacle part of the plot for his great story, “ The Devil Rides Out”.
A fun kind of haunting story takes an ugly turn. WHH falls back on the death and killing of dogs again.
Kinda confused. So did the criminals actually escape or did some supernatural force spirit them away? They used the passageway easily enough, but when Carnacki and the police tried to get through, they couldn’t opened the secret door.
I like this guy.
oh, and today i wore my “Cthulhu 2020” shirt, and had more than one person ask if he’s in kanye’s party. dear lord.
Don’t mind people getting hurt so much as animals I’m afraid!!!😱
Poor dog... EDIT: Dogs.
Now that you mention it, the Carnaki stories are particularly rough on animals. He's not wrong to do so, but it is a theme. "I wanted to see how the monster intended to murder me, so I threw a chinchilla at it."
So Scooby-Doo but Scooby gets his neck broken?
And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you pesky kids.
No spoilers, but, this was Spoilt for me because of the unnecessary brutality. If you listen to this, you will know what I mean.
Scooby Doo and the gang should stay well away from this one.
