Am from Ghana 🇬🇭 and I’ve followed Palki from WION This is the first time she spoke extensively about 🇬🇭 Ghana 🇬🇭 am not sure if Firstpost have corespondents in Ghana tho
I think their Nigeria correspondent handles Ghana
it is because india is third biggest importor of coco, and ghana is the 2nd biggest exporter of coco to india with value over $200million by 2022 data.
and growth rate of chocolate industry was more than 20% in 2022
Thanks for your on-the-ground insights into the cocoa industry
It is satisfying to note that Ma'am Palki is giving more coverage to Africa since some time. From the comments it appears that this programme is being watched regularly by many people of that continent. She is also bringing news from tiny Pacific islands. I hope that she will increase her coverage of Latin America too.
Cameroonians Cocoa farmers are benefiting from this menace in west Africa
Papua New Guinean cocoa farmers are benefiting from this slump in Africa.
Same in the Solomon islands ..when will the slump in Africa stop?
Cocoa Farming and collection had questioned earlier for using child labor with very low price in different African Countries. Anyway, each fruits have a suitable climatic condition (Temperature, rain, humidity, salinity). If too much distortion, production will fall. Cocoa is a dry land trees can tolerate small rain too much rain is not good condition of production.
Generations of farmers have been living in poverty. What else do we expect.
Human Greed is Harming Agriculture
It's not abnormal weather but rather illegal mining in Ghana

Something is not right. Just when Ghana has decided not to export its cocoa to the west but produce their own cocoa in country.
Who uses real cocoa? Most international chocolate brands use CBR,CBS,CBA derived from palm kernel oil & shea butter.....
It is unethical, but when were the westerners ethical?
All about cocoa prices, no emphasis on the tragedy of the expolitation of these farmers where now they will receive no compensation from the chocolate companies or the government.
Expensive chocolate!!! :(
Shortage of cocoa is a very bad news
Haarp attack 😮for sure
There's nothing illegal about farmers choosing to mine gold on their own land than growing cocoa. 🙄
