I'm glad it's working well for you. We are currently waiting for it to become available in our area. The customer service for Starlink told my wife that it won't be available until sometime in 2023 in our area. We live on the east coast where cable is not even available in some of the rural areas. We have been stuck with Verizon WiFi which has been slow and most days hovers around 1 bar. It has been very frustrating with the Covid restrictions making online classes a regular thing. My wife had to drive the kids to the library to connect to the internet for school and we are paying out the ass for useless data!

Every year the telecom companies are given billions of dollars in government subsidies for rural broadband expansion. Unfortunately the money is spent in urban areas where profit margins are much higher. In a lot of cities across the country the cities and their telecom monopolies have gigabyte per second download speeds while just outside city limits the rural customers are lucky to have dial-up speeds for the same cost.

At least there’s some competition now. In my area of the suburbs, I have my choice of three (that I know of) internet providers. One of them is slow (t-mobile, the new kid on the block), but at least there are choices. When company X raises your rates, cancel and go to company Y. Lather, rinse, repeat. Just play them off one another. Finally.

I will have to check that out. That's my biggest problem all that buffering going on. I had to add an extra $20 on my Verizon phone so I can stream all I want and I control two TVs with Roku which does okay but I'm right in the middle of a movie half the time and it probably buffers three or four times before I even get done if not more sometimes. Sometimes I've even turned it off because of all that buffering. I do live in a rural area

You can extent your WIFI range on your property by adding a long range router. I did it at my place to get my far away cams to connect (But I have cable) From what I read you can use your own router with Star Link. Sorry for the redundancy if someone already mentioned that . I spent about 290.00 on a netgear router that extended my WIFI to reach ring cams over a hundred and fifty feet away and through a lot of walls with no buffering that I can see.

If you can get cable internet without having to pay for extra lines to be laid from a trunk line, get cable. If you cannot get cable, get a local Co-op ISP. THEN, if you have no other choice, get Star Link. I say this for emergency reasons. You will ALWAYS lose satellite uplink during a storm, sometimes on just really rainy/snowy days. If you want to see radar to track which way a storm is going, you are going to need internet. Cable is the most reliable, especially if your area has mostly buried cable and not overhead cable. Local co-ops are your second most reliable, followed by satellite. However, if you have no cable or co-op isp options, definitely get satellite.
Edit: I would also like to ad that satellite service WILL be interrupted by solar flares. We are just now starting back into the solar maximum, which means that solar flare intensity is only going to increase over the next 6-7 years. Which will mean more service black-outs for satellite service customers.

It's better flat so that nothing would build up on it unlike regular dish. It's easy to install well.. I worked for cable company so installations are easy to me..lol but yes find the way to aim dish towards to satellite 🛰 is to get great signal specially when no trees ..you just set dish then cord be connected to modem or whatever they sent so signal goes to then set up your wifi.
