As a Brit, I’d say this is less “so British” and more “stereotypically British”. Keep these Peep Show reactions coming! It’s fun to get your thoughts on this stuff!
8:50 same here lol we have an uncle and it’s always funny whenever we went out to see a show with him because whatever he found it was usually something quite weird or out there 😂😂, well not all of them but a lot of them were lol 9:30 EXACTLY! I’m the same, or anyone who’s maybe autistic or adhd would probably struggle if it’s something they’re not interested in or with the lack of a pause and rewind button to rewatch and check to learn context/plot. Those things can be easily missed
This doesn't mention as much of the previous series' events as the following ep does. It seems like s5 e2 was originally going to be the first ep of s5.
When it comes to defending yourself from burglars in the UK, having a gun to hand might be useful, but without one, it just means a change of weapon is in order. Do I have a gun? No. Do I have an exact replica of a flanged mace as used by medieval German knights? Yes! In all seriousness though, the middle ground between US and UK gun laws is probably where the ideal solution can be found.
I got burgled before, opened my front door just as they left, they somehow managed to get a 40 odd inch television ;and themselves, through the smaller slot-like window pane we have at the top of the window. Called the police who came and were very helpful, they even found the telly, which had been broken 😡 they sent a forensic tea the next day, it was like something out of CSI! They found the guy because he caught himself on a nail when climbing over my fence, he got sentenced, can’t remember how long for.
you must live in a posh area, police don't even attend most burglaries now (the MET recently made the news for being the first force to require it again). Even when given enough evidence to convict they tend not to arrest the perpetrator as the penalties are so low and the paper work so high.
Sadly UK doesn't have the right to defend your property as a law. There was a farmer who shot 2 burglars about 20 years ago and he went to prison for murder and lost his farm and all his possessions to pay for it. They tried to change the law then but it got watered down so much that nothing has really changed. We now have a very recent case of a farmer shooting 2 burglars and again he is the one arrested not the burglars!
There was a guy in the US who went to prison for shooting 3 burglars. A few years ago. He was an old guy and they were teenagers and defence claimed he'd "lured" them inside instead of calling 911 in advance. There's a petition to free him, can't remember his name tho..
Not that the world lost anything special but I'm sure Tony Martin had lost his shotgun licence for shooting at randomers on his farm. He also chased the burglars and shot them in the back as they climbed out the window.
4? 5? Kids rushing you and they're in the residence? You're losing on numbers and you need a very fast, immediate response to have a chance, that's trained, you'll lose on numbers. Even a clumsy swing can take you down if you're not on stance + most people don't know that I'll bet, Americans included. Again, you'll lose on numbers if the kids have any sense of acting all at once - that they state they're going to do - the kids stance is stalling, gives you time to weigh the numbers, most people would say "screw it" + give up the items > take a beating, that once you're down could be absolutely savage. It's a tv, so what. It's not a Steven Seagull ;) movie, I bet one of you guys breaks a sweat pushing a lawnmower.
I mostly agree but with the exception of the 2nd amendment and just weapons in general. Could be big equalisers, especially if they have none. Anyway I think we’re overthinking this now lol
My favourite fact about this episode is that guy that says "Fuck off cleanshirt" is the same as the actor from series 1 who says the same thing.
Sonny Muslim. Same guy. Been in loads of stuff
Absolutel guarantee if a British guy caught a burglar in their house...you wouldn't be making them a tea 😂
As a Brit, I’d say this is less “so British” and more “stereotypically British”.

That’s 100% not how most burglaries go.
UK English doesn't use burglarize.
Sounds such a weird word to hear.
@@welshman100 Yes, I still find it strange, even after hearing it said by dozens of Americans.
It just sounds wrong
The guy who calls Mark clean shirt is the same kid from the first episode
Yeah, well spotted.
I was about to say that myself and started looking for this comment. lol he looks completely different, he’s so grown up now! 🥺🥺
Has anyone suggested Alan partridge scissored isle - I’ve just come across it on yt and obviously it’s ‘lovely stuff’.
how thoughtless and selfish is big suze knowing Jeremy is unemployed and asking him to buy a £45 bottle of wine !!
He tried to pimp her out. He deserves everything he gets!
Big Suze is the only one there who knows how to deal with a burglar!

And they knicked my little bit of dope .... Maybe I smoked that but still.
😂😂😂
19:00 that’s like the ultimate form of indirect payback from Jez lol
That was so good as awkward as it gets they make passive aggressive seem a viable strategy thanks guys Peeps Show is amazing ❤

6:23 I forgot she was still in the show at this point, I thought she was only in that one episode in season 1
Great timing, just finished work 🔥

Had someone try to break in to my house last week. Moron was caught on ring doorbell. They failed to get in but stole the doorbell.

@@Lones555either that or it was a long long time ago
@@Lones555 not posh, just quite, they must have been bored and grateful for something to do 🤣
There isn't much British about the handling of that situation! Have a look at Footballer Duncan Ferguson and how he handled burglars
It's a trait of Spencer's he sees something in a fictional UK tv show and for some reason his brain goes "that's how the British do it".
Like in real life, most first dates are a sexless dead end.
Tis Jez Copyright Reasons 😄
Mark quickly assuming various girls are his one is ridiculous.

May aswell just hide/destroy the bodies if they’re going to punish you anyway
I think you're referring to the Tony Martin case in 1999 in Norfolk.
Not that the world lost anything special but I'm sure Tony Martin had lost his shotgun licence for shooting at randomers on his farm. He also chased the burglars and shot them in the back as they climbed out the window.
Your song is good mate! 👍
Ah, the series where Mark turns into Ted from How I Met Your Mother and starts obsessively looking for “the one”
Have you not being paying attention he says that about every woman he meets since the start of season 1.
@@Lones555 But he does so much more often in s5 than in other series.

Are those little jumps in the video deliberate or a latency issue?
They're small cuts to try to avoid the videos being taken down as copyvios.
