You are an amazing shot, obviously. What feature or features makes that your favorite slingshot compared to others ? I'm a newbie and still trying to find the one.
It's funny because a lot of slingshots have come and gone since I made this video and I'm not even sure which frame was my favorite then. I definitely have a favorite shape. I like rounded tips for band /eye alignment off the tip of the fork. I also like the feel of a thin waisted frame with a palm swells on each side. All my frames are 4 inches outside fork width and that directly corresponds to my mouth corner anchor point. I hope that helps. My advice would be to cut a bunch of forked branches and buy several sets of the same bands premade. Try shooting different widths of forks until you get close to dead on with your anchor. Then spend money on slingshots.
Awesome comp. Amazing accuracy. What latex do you recommend for winter hunting? I bought some .7 precise anticold but I've found that it maxes out at only like 300% elongation... and i don't get the power I need for hunting
What are the bands?? Size ammo etc. And pouch question smart just curious. I use all kinds of setups. Just wondering what you're using on the grouse and rabbits. Thanks bud it's a pleasure watching your Videos
@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans Thanks for the response.! What type of work do you do out there in Alaska? And what part of Alaska are you in? If you don't mind me asking.. I think it's awesome.. And I really love watching your videos! Your slingshots are awesome
I just enjoy going on these hunts with you and your son. Just made a frame out of kiawe wood and it came out pretty good, 1st one. Not anywhere close to what you make. Looking at other woods here. Mahalo again and aloha🙏🏽🤙🏽
GZK green. .76. GZK has a website. You should be able to find it at other slingshot websites too depending on what country you live in. It is fairly popular.
I hope to be as good 1 day. Only recently learned about flatbands and got some. We usually just use speargun tubes tied to a fork with a bicycle inner tube. These are so much more amazing. Cans and bottles will be bursting. Lol...
This season its a lot more hare than grouse. I have not seen a grouse in months. In two years, once the cycle is down we won't see any hares. It ebbs and flows.
I have never called hares. I hear it works though. Seeing hares is definitely a learned skill. Looking for an eye is the best bet, but sometimes I see a shoulder or ear that makes them stand out. Finding a spot with lots of them and learning where they like to hide and studying the undergrowth in detail often reveals them, allowing a shot on a non-spooked bunny. I hope that helps!
Enjoyed it. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
you've certainly mastered the way you can put food on the table for your family , cheap, effective and so satisfying, well done!! your a great shot..

What is your rubber size wide set and length and mm?
I think this video it was 22-15 taper and .76 gzk green latex.

I would recommend GZK green .7 to .76. best stuff I have tried at real cold temps. ( Like -30°f)

Will any store bought slingshot do the deal?
With enough practice, and a set up generating enough power yep!

are you calling the rabbits? I can spot grouse pretty good but you seem to have remarkable eyes for it.

A shot in the body, is it deadly
On a rabbit, often, on a grouse rarely. Headshots are much cleaner and quicker either way.
