- Next up we have Wave Man's stage... and I am going to keep this short as I have other things that need to be done. Wave Man's stage is "sort of" the water themed stage for this game. Although there is definitely water of some form in the stage, there are no water physics... no... those were saved for a different stage that completely lacks water altogether. In this stage we find obstacles such as steam traps, spiked swinging balls of some form... and a jet ski section. In this section you ride around blasting enemies... Your controls are mostly the same as if you were just standing on the ground, except you have more forward momentum and less backward momentum. You also can no longer slide or use charge shots, but overall it is not so bad. Avoiding taking any hits during this section can be a bit of a pain, though. Bloody fish...
Wave Man himself is a bit odd... He tries to hit you with water jets that also block your shots, and he shoots harpoons at you whenever he jumps. Some careful use of Charge Kick makes short work of him, though... just be careful to not charge head-first into a harpoon or a water jet. The water jets block your shots entirely, but you can pierce right through them with the Charge Kick's invincibility frames. It is a clumsy weapon, but it DOES have its uses. Also of note, you could use them to dodge the steam traps in the stage itself as you have plenty of extra ammo to work with.

Memories!! I loved to play this stage over and over again just because of the music, it's very soothing, hehe, love it!!
I love this stage theme. I just can't wait to go to the beach and walk along it while listening to this song.

Going by the stage's music, I'd say it was probably easy for Mega Man to picture himself on vacation in Tahiti, instead of fighting.
the jet ski part reminds me of the second and seventh stages of Sunset Riders when you're on a horse

The best water robot master yet the most underrated

Wave Man was Dr Wily's Second Water-Themed Robot Master
Fun Fact: this was a previous robot master from MegaMan 3: The Robots are Revolting, on DOS, and funny enough, Torch Man, Oil Man, and Blade Man would later become official robot masters
Octoper OA is not the only mini boss from Mega Man 5, Mega Man 5 also has the Power Musclers, Dachone, and Yudon/Missile Robot as mini bosses.
Wave Man `s theme along with Charge Man`s theme are my favorite Robot Master themes in this game.
Water Wave isn't that bad compared to some of the other ones- the fact that it's a two-hit weapon has to be taken into effect, you know. If this thing went up walls a la Search Snake, it might be the best weapon of its type.

The only thing that made this stage memorable was the Jet Ski- which doesn’t make sense considering Mega Man has Rush Marine.

How to make rush marine useful: make it so Mega Man has limited oxygen (even if he's robotic) and Marine gives him infinite oxygen!
Call it his water logged level, like what happens to cars in flooded areas
If you want my opinion Charge Kick is the best powerup in this game.
Ugh, the wave runner part is so freaking annoying, part of the reason is that you can't even pause to give your fingers a break
I hated this level as a kid. I hated that a water-themed boss wasn't in a water level and I hated the forced side scrolling that took away your charged buster.
