Currently own a Genesis G70. I’ve had it for 2 years now. I can’t justify spending 5k more than what I spent for a less luxurious and less powerful car. Plus the performance is identical. It’s just my opinion, but nearly 60k for an S3 just seems ridiculous to me.
I guess that’s where the extra $5k is going-brand perception. And that’s fair enough. For me, when you look past the badges, it just doesn’t make sense. Spec for spec, the S3’s price is way too steep.

Though, she’ll see the screens, and want want the newer one soon enough.
Is the s3 engine reliable over the long term? I had 2011 A4 and there were serious recalls.
@@thunderthumbz3293 2011 A4 is still one of the earlier model b8's, by 2013/2014 up to 2016(when they stopped making the b8) it was improved upon significantly. Its not that uncommon for a car company to need to iron out some issues early on after they remodel one of the cars in their line, although Ill admit the early b8 a4's probably had a bit more issues that needed ironing out than usual. The newer s3s and s4s should be pretty reliable for the most part (in terms of the engine and drivetrain, if an issue arises itll probably more related to electronics these days).
If it doesn’t have half a lambo engine in it I don’t want it
The DAZA sounds amazing, but I can personally attest to the fact that the EA888 kicks ass.
But they give you the Lambo sound piped in haha
@@justinbeamon6624 Lmao was gonna say it sounds like a V10 with the piped in noise
@@jackwicker bro the DAZA is pure sex lol, buddy of mine had a boosted rabbit back in the day that I loved and it’s the closest sound to it, and fast asf with minimals.
Those globes are cool though.
I agree with Cammisa regarding the Lambo style interior. It's definitely got some fairly agro shapes going on inside that I personally would prefer they dialed back just a little. As for whether it feels cheap, I'm not at liberty to say and will trust Matt's view. Still, this S3 seems like a nice car, albeit totally anonymous.
I would definitely pick the Golf R over this. Hatchback instead of sedan. Manual transmission instead of auto. Plus the torque vectoring rear diff makes all the difference.
Gets even sillier when you consider people are paying more than these two cost, for a Kia EV6, or Hyundai Ionic......
If I got an audi, I'd probably get a last gen a3 with quattro and have an AWD gti.
Over an S3? How come?
@@jaredjohnson9711 cheaper means more money for mods.
@@jaredjohnson9711 s3s around me are still super expensive
Currently own a Genesis G70. I’ve had it for 2 years now. I can’t justify spending 5k more than what I spent for a less luxurious and less powerful car. Maybe Genesis has spoiled me with their value-for $52k, I got air conditions seats, two more cylinders and an extra turbo, and rear wheel drive, all of which the S3 doesn’t have. Plus the performance is identical. It’s just my opinion, but nearly 60k for an S3 just seems ridiculous to me.
But it’s a Hyundai….
I guess that’s where the extra $5k is going-brand perception. And that’s fair enough. For me, when you look past the badges, it just doesn’t make sense. Spec for spec, the S3’s price is way too steep.
@@BlueEvolution312 I'm curious to see if in a few years, the automotive world will see Genesis the same way they see Lexus.
The Genesis is definitely a much better value, plus IMO, the exterior design is much better than the current generation of the S3.
@@JonathanTorres-vr1sg resale value…
Thanks for the real world review! My daily is a 2019 A6, and your comments regarding the Adaptive Cruise Control are familiar. In rain, sleet or snow, there are all sorts of warning messages and the ‘sensor’ related functions, such as ACC, are all disabled with warning messages. Drives me crazy, but similar to your experience, it adjusts and corrects itself, and of course at service time, Audi can find no fault. Great car in every other respect, and count me as an Audi fan.
It's a shame the S3 doesn't have the Torque Vectoring like the MK8 Golf R and RS3.
The front looks like a Hyundai i30 N line, but then uglier.. What the hell is wrong with Audi's design at the moment? The previous model A3 was a good looking, timeless design.
Shoutout to a MK1 Caddy parked down the road!
Why is the check engine light on
What engine light?
Because it’s a VW with lipstick
Be careful out there.
Pretty bland looking and sounding for $56k.
I prefer the Audi S3 over the VW R MK8.
The VW to me looks borig and unexciting
the previous version looks better.
The a3 with a vr6 is the best golf
On the list for the new RS3. Hoping to use it as a fun DD that can handle snow. P-car for the weekends and nice weather.
trunks on small cars seems strange to me.
If it came in stick shift at least here in the Usa, I probably would buy it over a vw
Agreed
I don't think any market is getting this with a manual.
no flat bottom steering wheel?
