Unlike Doyle, she resisted the temptation to kill her detective off while he was still popular.  She married off Poirot's "Watson", Captain Arthur Hastings, in an attempt to trim her cast commitments...

Having to listen to ethereal tones one expects to hear at a funeral home visit is too distracting from the narrrative
