You gotta give Foreman credit for this….a sad case with no explanation, having to tell two parents that their baby is dead and House pushing for an argument in every turn and he handled it like a champ!
One of the most truly sad moments of House, when a mother who is out of her mind kills her child. She is literally not herself, but the child doesn't survive. When they are able to cure her, she cannot live with what she's done.. So well done...
When House throws the cane and runs, he gets one maybe two steps in before he hops off his injured leg. You can see him break his gait. Fantastic acting by Hugh.

I lost a newborn so I understand how losing one feels, and can only imagine the pain of a mother who killed her own. She would not wanna live. The scene is heart breaking
Oh my Lord, my heart is so heavy. I can feel the devastation. I'd be utterly broken, too, if I was told I killed my baby. I wouldn't know how to live after that. And the husband, even with the diagnosis, he probably wouldn't be able to continue being with her.
Two types of people house has a soft spot for. 1. Pych patients-who you already can't trust to say the truth about anything. 2. Babies-They cant lie about anything. It really does get under his skin when someone's not who they pretend to be.
Honestly, after the baby died I started thinking it would be kinder to the mother not to cure her of her delusions. How could you live with yourself after that, she'd have to be on suicide watch 24/7. Her marriage is likely over too. Amazing actress, her grief feels so horribly genuine.
This scene right is here is why I would love to have house as a doctor. Right off the bat his sarcastic personality and rude quips would honestly help me feel better if I was dying. "Bad news your dying, good news I get to poke around in your brain until whatever is killing you goes away" he acts like he does whatever he wants because its fun or because he doesnt care, but that scene of him ignoring his leg pain and sprinting after the baby shows me that he does care for a humans wellbeing and has their best interest in heart.
Definitely one of the more memorable episodes in the show. House throws away his cane and runs, dad is in denial, the speed monologue about the placebo to check if she's a "psycho killer", Jesse Spencer's delivery of "the" news... I don't even have or want kids and this episode hit me in the feels.
And it's always so surprising how fast house can run when there's a life in danger that means that he puts life over his own pain He's a good man and doctor
After watching so many episodes, House presents himself as him hating children but truly, you can see that he actually likes and care for them. (which makes me plaster a smile from ear to ear for some reason.)
No, it does not make you a bad person. House was responding to a threat against a small infant and it was inspiring to see because it shows he is human and does care.

You gotta give Foreman credit for this….a sad case with no explanation, having to tell two parents that their baby is dead and House pushing for an argument in every turn and he handled it like a champ!
Am I the only one that just went “that’s not part of the grieving proces” when she threw up blood
Why did she throw up blood?
Arthas: I think she was in shock from being told she killed her baby. Also, according to other comments, she had cancer.
The important part is she allowed herself to die
One of the most truly sad moments of House, when a mother who is out of her mind kills her child. She is literally not herself, but the child doesn't survive. When they are able to cure her, she cannot live with what she's done.. So well done...
It kinda sounded like Hugh's accent slipped when he said "Where's the baby?"
Almost Irish
Nooo its just alright
Yes its very rare that he slips, that was definitely more Hugh than House for a second
I don't hear a slip
@@DTux5249 If you listen he kinda says "bebe" instead of "baby".
I love it how no matter what the situation is house doesnt forget to hit that one liner lol
This was one of the most gut-wrenching episodes of the whole series. Just watching these clips still makes me teary eyed.
When House throws the cane and runs, he gets one maybe two steps in before he hops off his injured leg. You can see him break his gait.
Fantastic acting by Hugh.
House: *throws cane*
Cand: "do I look like a joke to you?"
"cand"💀💀💀💀💀💀
I've been watching these clips for 15 hours straight. I've now got blurred vision, a stabbing pain in my neck and a migraine. It must be Auto-immune . . . or Lupus . . . or both!
It's never lupus
Lupus is auto-immune
You just need Vicodin.
Sarchoidosis
Same
I was going to type that this was too sad for a Lupus joke but then she threw up blood at the end. Clearly Lupus. #TeamLupus
Its never lupus
@@marbleherogaming735 Unless it is. Then it is Lupus
@@phi_meson Yes yes but was it Lupus?
"You hid it in a lupus textbook?"
House: "Its never lupus!"
Only magicians get lupus
The most heartbreaking episode of the whole series.
Please also do a follow up because the last part of the episode is also amazing.
Nobody noticed that the father of the child is literally sunshine from remember the titans?
I did
Oh my god you're right!
So what? Not relevant
Yep
I was just about to type that when I saw your post
I think House would be a very interesting parent.
There's a scene where House lives with Wilson raising Rachel, Cuddy's daughter.
@@kissofdeath4449 I love that episode
I think he'll be an amazing parent
@@kissofdeath4449 It's Cuddys dream... and it's a two and a half men parody :D
also yes, love that scene.
Well I believe she was very sick (cancer) and refused treatment and foreshadowed she died
@@jackieelizabeth8614 she died, I remember somewhere it was confirmed
I love how he threw away the cane but still had that limp. Perfect acting
As a dad, the mother's reaction at the end is killing me. Almost crying.
Her acting is impeccable.
It's so intense when House gets serious like that!
Unbelievably incredible acting Hugh! ❤️
"Stomach hurts" is always foreshadowing
Foreshadowing what?
@@shadowcastprime2100 in this show, vomiting or something else going wrong
No kidding lol its a hospital
It's never foreshadowing.

Despite the fact that House is a misanthrope, he undoubtedly has a soft spot for babies.
Children in general I think, though his bedside manner with them could use some improvement.
“People don’t start to bother me until they grow teeth”
-House 1x04
He’s not a monster he would save a baby if it was in trouble
He’d save anyone who wants to be saved, or who has no choice in the matter
We got a full view of House's humanity when he throws his cane to the side and pushes through the pain in order to try and save the baby.
The moment when House throws his cane away... Pure action man
It scared me a little when House threw the cane and started to run
House just yeeting his cane to rescue the baby is like me yeeting my phone to get dinner.
House drops the apathetic "too cool to care" act the instant he sees the kid is in danger. ALL the applause.
I never want to know that pain. Grieving for the death of someone close to you...that you caused
I cried watching this scene just vaguely imagining that smth like this could happen to my defensless baby...
Safari Yangu, indeed.
Deff gonna make u throw up
Two types of people house has a soft spot for.
1. Pych patients-who you already can't trust to say the truth about anything.
2. Babies-They cant lie about anything.
It really does get under his skin when someone's not who they pretend to be.
"Oh my god will you argue with me!"
loved that part
2:59 - Probably my all-time favorite House reaction to anything
The acting in this show NEVER ceases to amaze me. Such a devastating episode :(
Seeing house run to save a child is amazing, it shows just how important that a child is even to house
Seeing House run to save the baby is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life and no one can tell me otherwise.
Definitely one of the more memorable episodes in the show. House throws away his cane and runs, dad is in denial, the speed monologue about the placebo to check if she's a "psycho killer", Jesse Spencer's delivery of "the" news... I don't even have or want kids and this episode hit me in the feels.
And it's always so surprising how fast house can run when there's a life in danger that means that he puts life over his own pain
He's a good man and doctor
Husband's work: You still coming in, right?
"KAREN WOULD NEVER HURT MY SON"
this... aged badly
Karen took the kids
The Half Brit not as bad as her kid
shu jain ..... life 👻
All in the name...
'This aged badly'
Unlike the baby, amirite?
After watching so many episodes, House presents himself as him hating children but truly, you can see that he actually likes and care for them. (which makes me plaster a smile from ear to ear for some reason.)
You've got to appreciate how incredibly tense they made the part where house discovers the mother suffocating her baby
1:08
House: "I'M GONNA SAY THE N WORD"
Foreman: *_"THAT'S RACIST YOU CAN'T SAY THE N WORD"_*
*"You can't stop me Foreman. I'll do it"*
@@DTux5249 Mrs Obama get down!
Am I a bad person to say every time I see this my heart warms up the way House reacts?
I rewatch that part over and over...even I get an adrenaline rush from it.
No, it does not make you a bad person. House was responding to a threat against a small infant and it was inspiring to see because it shows he is human and does care.
My wife going through postpartum depression and anxiety I was worried about this because the first time I came home from work she would just give me the baby and start shaking. She would have what’s called intrusive thoughts that were some of the worst things you can think of. We got her to therapy and meds she is much better now but it was the scariest time being a new dad and new husband not knowing what to do to help.
You did your best cause you were trying to help! Most husband didn't even care
Postpartum depression is such a terrible disorder my mom actually had it at one point. But managed to get past it and I hope to God my little sister and I will not have to suffer through that.
7:30 and onward is one of the finest actings I have ever seen in my life, 10/10
5:36 Chase desperately trying to save a baby's life
5:38 House peevishly saying Chase is "wasting his time" in NICU ( _instead of up here, working for me, getting sexually harassed and called an idiot every two minutes, seriously, WTF is that kid's problem?_ ) 😄
Cry
Andrea Yates is a prime example of postpartum depression. That lady was unbalanced chemically and was seeking help but wasn't given it properly.
Mental health needs to be taken seriously in all forms.
As someone who’s interested in medicine, I love House MD. As an emetophobe I hate House MD.

The way House rushed to save the baby throwing away his cane and performing CPR was pure gold..If anyone ever says that House doesn't care about anything then just show them this clip
I’ve never seen house so urgent to save a patient. Except for that baby.
I can’t hold back my tears watching this. I watched all these years ago. It hits so much harder when you become a parent.
Thank god a new clip, I was about to start watching all the other ones in a row for the 65th time
House tossing his cane and hobbling quickly to save the baby is beautiful.
Thats gotta be the scariest thing for a parent to hear anytime in their life
"Where's the baby...?"
House getting mad because Foreman won’t disagree with his is great lol
Something about it cutting off right after she throws up fake blood is extremely funny
House jumping out of his cane and running to save the baby, is by far one of the best moments I've seen in this show, without a doubt.
This episode is one of the most heartbreaking things ive ever seen in my life.
