Hi mate. I made this as a precursor for an electric krar so it’s not quite complete. The intention was to show how to make an acoustic krar. If you saw my follow up video ‘how to make an electric lyre, I used a a guitar saddle bridge, however, as a cheaper alternative I would used PandaHall aluminium sheets and adjust it and make holes on it for the strings and screw it onto the lower face of the krar (at the centre of the bottom wood). For a bridge, I would use piece of an appropriate sized rectangular wood.

Thomas hawey, you tune them to make different sound by stretching the strings differently. So one string will be stretched so that it vibrates at a certain frequency, which in turn gives a particular note ( music note/ sound ). There are 12 music notes that are al different from each other, and at one particular time ( one major ) we use a combination of 5 of these notes to give us a pentatonic tone. Which means played by 5 strings. Therefore all 5 strings will be different.
