I always found it jarring that seeing Padme and Anakin visit her parents, their family structure on Naboo was identical to the contemporary US. That made no sense to me. Sci-Fi definitely needs to take many, many leaes out of Sociology's, Anthropology's and Psychology's book. Same for Fantasy. Very grateful for you!
