5 years old and difference is minimal to todays phones, phones arent being used even to 50% most of the time and makes you wonder why they arent supported for longer
That was Samsung’s down fall. I have been using their phones since the Galaxy S i9000 released back in 2010, but earlier back then, it was justifiably to have 2 years of software update since the increase in chip speed was exponential and the phone was borderline too slow for even web browsing 2 years later. After that, I had the S4 (again, only two years of software update), got a S5 when I lost my S4 in 2016 before jumping onto the Galaxy S9+. A phone released in 2018 with the latest software being released in late 2019? Aka Android 10 like really??? It’s still usable in 2023 with the exception of the battery being completely worn out and the phone being a little slow. Since the S10, Samsung has watered down their phones to match the iPhone while iOS has finally giving users some limited level of customisation. It was a no brainier for me to replace my faithful S9+ was an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’d likely never touch a Samsung device again after all the betrayal. For an Android phone, I’d pick the Google Pixel.
Yup. Still using this phone as my daily driver. This phone and the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S10 series are pretty much the LAST complete phones Samsung made. Im getting annoyed that the later flagships are downgrading their features like the headphone jack and expandable micro SD, limiting the user's options. All that just to cash grab consumers to buy more of their accessories separately, like wireless headphones and especially the charger.
@@whyisitsodifficultomakeahandle true. But I wish Samsung kept the headphone jack. Their flagships before the S20 had the jack, and still has water and dust resistance. The moment Samsung started to copy Apple, in a way they started to lose their identity.
I have the same phone and was wondering does the Dex feature feature show on this when you swipe down from the top? I thought DeX came out on the S8 but Samsung support keeps telling me that this phone isn't compatible.
I have a samsung s9 exynos version. I got this phone in 2020 for free ( it had display pixel burn issues, cracked display near selfie camera and broken glass back). I've used it till 2022 and then i switched phones. Im still using this s9 as a secondary phone, installed evoX Android 13 custom rom and it works smoother than before.
i use s21 5g and s9+ and intererestingly , after the latest sowtware updates s21 takes worse photos than the old s9+ i will add that s9+ has not had samsung support for a long time
I actually have doubts that people running custom roms on Android actually use their phones as a primary phone. You almost can't use your phone for day to day things in this cashless society once the efuse is tripped.
Thank you for this. I’ve been debating on swapping my current iPhone SE 2022 for my partners old s9+ and this video helped me make up mind in agreein fb to swap
@ refurbished can mean that the phone has just been software wiped and sanitized, a lot of refurbished phones aren’t restored with new parts in any way
These was simple and easy to use but as far as the newer models they removed the headphone jack and chargers from the box because there was hundreds to thousands of new chargers and headphones found in trash cans everyday people wanted to use they had from the year before
S10 series have punchhole. Not good. Annoying. Also 9 series with OneUI 2.5 has more task switchers customization from goodlock than newer versions. Removed
This phone is still the best, better than many and many new androids devices
This get line issue in display?

the s20s were also really solid devices. Same sleek premium designs and they had micro sd slots.

@@lilPopperYeah man, though I should mention that the headphone jack in my S9+ is so worn out to a point that it doesn’t even stay fully in.
@@chrischoy9 regardless, when you had the jack, you had many audio options. Sorry your jack broke though. You ever thought of getting it repaired?

Worth using custom rom on this?
Saw these are selling for $85 now
Probably been sold now, but yes you should buy one and put a custom rom on. It's better than mid-rangers made today.

They’re not $100 unless you buy a banged up one. New condition or brand new ones go from $150-$180
In Lebanon it costs $75 refurbished
