Brian using it upside down 1:40 😂 I’ve always had the 11” iPad Pro, but with the the 13” OLED model now being much thinner & lighter it’s never been a better time to switch to the larger model.
Upgrading from a 2018 pro and so excited for it. It’s my “home computer” and travel device and I wont approach the limits of the tech. I’m just hyped for the thinness, screen and a fresh battery.
Same. I ordered mine and can’t wait to get it on Weds. I play games, watch tons of HDR content, and use it for school (taking notes, ms word docs, and ms excel templates). This is the upgrade I’ve been waiting for to ditch my 2018 pro. The screen is going to be so damn beautiful. As far as I know, LG made the displays and I have the LG G4 top of the line OLED tv and it’s the best OLED I have ever seen. A tandem OLED on an iPad is ridiculous.

I was just watching Dave2D and Max Tech making a review earlier today about the M4 iPad Pro and it is looking to be a powerhouse compared to the other iPad models. It’s also beating the M3 Max in performances, too.

I’m still using the iPad Pro 2018 so I ordered the new one immediately and can’t wait for it to get here.
it's so well considered. the weight of the device, the sleek thinness, how it works with the magic keyboard, etc. i don't think many people understand the reasoning behind apple's design choices, but once you use their products you can feel the effect of all of those elements contributing to the deliberateness of its user experience. these devices are designed in a way that makes people WANT to pick them up and use them.
It’ll bend even by accident. Maybe not in half but it will. I tried to trade in my iPad Pro with the A12 chip in it and they gave me a low trade in value cause it has a slight bend that doesn’t affect the screen. When I got it back I saw it it was a light bend on the back of the case. This being even thinner it will bend even by accident from me putting it in my backpack and taking it around. Not trying to be negative but I think it’s more of a tip just to be extra careful with it and if it does don’t be surprised.
This is on my Christmas wish list ..definitely getting this..but because of the price…I have to trade in my pro with the purchase

The thinner design was a smart choice. Even though I would love to see the iPad reach MacBook Air level battery life, the weight of the 12.9" M2 iPad Pro was very noticeable. It made it uncomfortable to use holding it with one hand and using it with the other. It's a tablet and therefore it doesn't stand on its own, therefore weight matters.
So I agree that first the goal should be to remove as much weight as possible, then think of improving battery life.
I’m coming from a 2018 12.9 iPad Pro so this new iPad will be a huge upgrade for me.
I decided to go all in and get the fully spec’d version of the 13” iPad Pro.
My main use is Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro and editing my drone videos.
I’ll be getting my new M4 iPad Pro will all accessories Wednesday. I’m very excited.
I am getting the m4 13 inch iPad today with new pencil. Looking forward to doing more editing and photography work on it. Great review Brian thanks.

I'm a digital artist who does light video editing and I'm so stoked to get my preorder. Ordered a 13" with a terabyte in space black, says it's estimated ship date is the 23rd of this month. Living in Alaska sucks for shipping, but I can't wait. That new design and screen and pencil makes my mouth water.

Have an iPad 11 inch on order. I find it to be my sketch book. Have uped my game to doing my design work from sketch to output. Currently have a M1. But was waiting for the more powerful chipset. Still have a desktop to finish up. But having the power in my hand to take on the road has great appeal. Cant wait to get started
Anybody else pissed about the false advertising on Apple’s part? Their thinnest product is in fact the Polishing Cloth. Canceling my iPad order ASAP.

Enjoyed and appreciate your review as always! I'm stoked for tomorrow - picking up the 11" Pro in Space Black (to match my MBP) and 512GB. I'm upgrading from he 2020 Pro 256GB. Wish I could get the extra RAM and unlocked M4, but I just cannot justify the cost on the 1TB model, lol. I don't need all that realistically. The tech is hot though either way and I'm excited. *Btw - just wanna share I randomly watched your Return of the Mac music video a couple days ago. It's one of my fav videos on RUclips LOL*

Alright Brian, I’m going up on Friday to the Apple Store to get the iPad Pro, I want the 11 inch and the keyboard but I’d like to hear your input on if the 11 inch with the keyboard is a tight fit with the function keys?
agreed... they might merge them someday, but honestly developers have been reluctant to really take advantage of a device's specific advantages. I feel like most apps are developed for the lowest common denominator, which would mean if Apple added MacOS support of some type, every app would only be optimized for the desktop experience, and the mobile experience would not exist. Then the new complaint would be why aren't apps iPad optimized. So far, the divide helps... develop for Mac or develop for iOS. But, still holding out hope that Apple finds a way to merge the two AND get developers to optimize for both simultaneously.

which version of the ipad pro 11 inch m4 do u need for the eyegaze would be used inside and outside as reflection from light will usually stop the eyegaze working .
Does it lie flat if we want to write on the screen with the pencil? The previous keyboard doesn’t allow that. Had to take it off or use it “upside down”
The nano coating on the XDR display requires special care for cleaning. Is it the same for the iPad Pro?

Did apple keep the overall size of the previous ipad pro 12.9 inch and the the new iPad pro 13 inch the same size screen but just reduce the outside bezel on the 13 inch new iPad pro to make the screen now 13 inches instead of 12.9 inch ?

I have a 2018 11” iPad Pro it’s time for an upgrade my iPad will freeze sometimes and Spatial Audio has never worked on my iPad
I have bent one an older version of the iPad Pro on an airplane left it in the seat storage thing in front of me (where the magazines are ) went to the bathroom came back it was bent badly wrecked basically
Cellular is so much better than tethering your phone. So worth it. The price jump sucks. But the freedom makes the iPad so much better.

I am personally not a fan of the matte finish option.
I ordered that. My Studio Monitor has the nano surface and it’s really good. I do have to be careful with it. I’m pretty sure the iPad is much resistant to damage. Apple does expect it to be used with the Pencil after all, so it must be pretty good. As far as matte goes, it doesn’t damage the image on the Studio. I expect the blacks will be slightly less, but not much different. I use this outdoors, so I expect it to be really good there. Anyway, my wife ordered one without the nano, so I’ll compare them.
I'll be interested to see if it can handle Apple Log footage at 60fps.
I have the M1 set up. I want it for the OLED screen, the front facing camera finally being in the right spot, and the new magic keyboard. I hate not having a function row. I sure this is not reasons most would pick, but I am me, and that's what I want!

Great review, Brian. My thought about any MacBook "replacement"... Signal #1 that they're not going there (for a while) is the Magic Keyboard. Still only *1x* USB - and still only power passthru - shows their direction more clearly than anything. (And, IMHO, is a lost opportunity and significant bummer... there's room for both another one *and* wld be no problem to include low-level USB-C capability to each one. That makes all the difference for a 'desktop' scenario vs just a single port hanging up in the air off the bottom of the iPad.
How are the speakers?
I have the 1st gen 11" iPad Pro A12X with the Apple pencil and Magic Keyboard, I'm definitely thinking of upgrading to possibly the 13" Pro or just the 11" mainly because of the OLED screens. Plus the battery life on my iPad has decreased significantly
I have the original I pad pro so def upgrading cause it’s slowly kicking the bucket. But gt a lot of good use out of it.
All the big tech RUclipsrs are releasing the same exact reviews. They’re all the same. I know it’s not scripted but it almost feels like it is.

Apple need to start promoting gaming on there chips they are that powerful and need to make it easier for dev to port and create gaming on the this new iPad Pro M4
Great video as always Brian, but the audio quality of that clip on mic isn’t great. Sounds kind of like you’re underwater, and there’s lots of static-sounding cracking when I’m listening with my AirPods
Traded in my iPad Pro M1 via Apple and purchased on contract including data - 1 x iPad Pro 13” 512gb silver with wifi and 5g and 1 x iPad Pro 13” 1tb black with wifi and 5G and I’m not a digital artist or illustrator - I simply want to be able to se the latest and best.

I have just brought an iPad Pro M2 and got my wife the same … I wasn’t really wanting to waiting for the new iPad Pro model to come out at the time I got my iPad Pro… I think I’ll be okay for a few more years … my question to you is how good are you on Marvel’s Snap?
I’m not sure if I really need a new iPad. I have a Pro 4th generation (pre M1). I don’t know if I need the extra power. I have a M2 Ultra Studio and trying to figure my use case. Maybe pick up one the end of the summer/fall
I love my 12.9 pro ! It’s the best apple product I ever owned! I haven’t been happy with the new phones but they knocked the iPad Pro out of the park!
How is the writing feel on the OLED with the Pencil Pro, compared to the Mini LED + Pencil 2?
Add one more icon in taskbar that is mac os. It just needs to be an app and not completely redesigned UI.

I think Apple intentiionally removed the extra camera in order to move it to a bigger 15 inch iPad Pro they are likely gonna launch this fall. Its very likely Apple will launch Finder for iPad at WWDC, but macOS doesn't seem like its gonna happen. The Mac and iPad at the end of the day are two distinct devices. Currently using a 12.9 2017 iPad Pro and still don't have any need to upgrade.
How does the OLED display compare to other OLED displays outthere?.
I believe they are just a little brighter that's all.

while all that is great, those of us using 2018 11" iPad Pro still with our Magic Keyboards and Apple Pencils, can't really justify $1000 just for the new pro plus a new keyboard and pencil pro. I'm opting for a used 2022 pro model that still supports my keyboard and pencil and still has an M2.
They are most likely using binned SoCs in the "base" models because they do not want to discard SoCs with defect units. I do however wonder how much it will reduce performance on those models and if it would really matter to 99.9% of the buyers.

I got the iPad Pro 11 inches 1st and 2nd gen now am waiting my IPad Pro m4 11 inches upgrading coz my 2 kids using those 2 iPad Pro now I got my personal one 😝

Apple having two M4 processor options seems to echo the MacBook Air series. Maybe we’ll see the iPad start to assume more MacOS functionality and maybe even replace the MacBook Air eventually as they introduce touchscreen functions into a MacOS/iPad OS love child?
People who say just get a MacBook, don't get it. Use the iPad as your personal computer full time and you'll fall in love with it. I tried it and I love it.
Great review. I’ll buy the 11 inch iPad Pro; I can appreciate the advantage of a thinner iPad because in that way is lighter and more comfortable to use it but I would have preferred better battery life, nevertheless at this point I just have to accept that iPads are stuck with just ten hours of battery (bad apple!)

During the recent earnings call, Apple forecast double-digit growth for the iPad. While these upgrades are great, they may not be enough to support such a robust growth forecast. So it seems something must be cooking for the iPad at WWDC. At the very least, Apple needs to reframe the conceptual purpose for the iPad. Jobs did it during the iPad introduction by slotting it between the iPhone and the Mac. Apple needs to now restate or reframe or reinvent the rationale for the iPad.

If you've never owned one. I think you're gonna love it. It also depends on what your user needs are but it's always been a great experience. But the criticism is that some users want it to do more.
