This episode just proves how great the entire 3rd season is. Definitely my favourite season. So many characters, and each and every one of them with their own plans, ambitions and goals. Continuing backstabs, betrayals, but also unexpected alliances just like the one witnessed in this scene. The story changed rapidly, favored noone for too long and, most importantly, wasn't ridiculous - back when everything was fresh and the more vampire/witch lore we learned, the more excited we got. A thrilling and entertaining rollercoaster that began with Katherine's arrival in season 2 and built up more and more with the introduction of Rose, werewolves, the hybrid curse, Elijah, Klaus and all other members of the Original family. Season 3 was the peak of awesomness for this show, truly a "golden age" of Diaries. I will always hold this show dear because of how addictive it used to be and it doesn't matter if next seasons weren't as good. Its the best seasons that stay in our memories, and 1-3 will always stay in mine.
This episode showed us so much ♥ -Stefan loves Damon over everyone. -Katherine still holds power over Stefan. -Elena is willing to let Stefan go for Damon
Well, Damon clearly wasn't over his grudge towards me, because he was willing to let me die when I came to him looking for help as a human and he later tortured me at my deathbed. And Steferine wasn't possible, because Stefan would never trust me and it was visible even in this scene, even though, we seemingly got on well.
As much as I love Katherine, she completely contradicts what she said about not loving Damon in season 2. in 2x01 she says "The truth is I never loved you. It was always Stefan." Yet here she says that she HAS in fact loved Damon. What?!
she only said that in 2x01 because she wanted damon and stefan to turn against each other. she didn't mean it. she said it in 2x22 too that she loved both of them though she did love stefan more.
She actually loved Damon too but she said once that she didn't let love get in the way of her survival. She had to say this to Damon so that he let her go.
I think there is a difference. She loved Damon but... not the same way as she loved Stefan. Love comes in many forms. It's like how Elena and Stefan told each other end of season 5, they will always love each other but they aren't in love with each other anymore. Katherine never fell out of love for Stefan but she did for Damon at some point but that doesn't mean she stopped caring about him.
I love Stefan and Katherine together. There's this certain chemistry between them that there isn't between him and Elena for some reason. I'm going to keep saying that I think Stefan&Katherine | Damon&Elena are endgames. Because, to me at least, there are always so many signs / parallels / signals pointing to that. And I really hope that that's what it ends up being.
LOL even Klaus knows what's up with Damon and Elena now, as he told "Elena" that Damon's life would be forfeit if anything happened to him, counting on Elena's feelings for Damon to counteract any attempt on his life...
I love these two together. I think that despite everything Katherine's done to him, Stefan still kinda loves her and she clearly still loves him. These two need to get together next season.
when katherine says " i loved damon too." stefan looks kinda jelous/dissapointed but when she said " i loved you he looked kinda hopeful/happy. :) TEAM STEFERINE FOREVER!!!

yes Katherine is still alive.this episode was made 3 episodes after Mikael dragged her into his coffin.after the first plan failed,Katherine decided to leave Mystic Falls so she could be as far away from Klaus as possible until he died.so there's 99% chance we'll see her in the season finale
get over it.just be glad he isn't dead.the plan was to kill him & the other Originals off in the season 3 finale because there was nothing left for them on the show.but the network nearly had a heart attack when they found out which caused the writers to come up with a reason why Klaus couldn't be killed but be "killed" by the gang only to be revived in season 4.if Klaus was killed,I bet us Stelena fans wouldn't have gotten our hopes up thinking everything is great after she chose Stefan.this is what I think would've happened:Elena chose Damon,Stefan would get together with Katherine in season 4,and Tyler & Caroline would still be together except no Klaus problems

I think this scene is why in season 5 everybody but Stefan hates Katherine when she is on her death bed. Because at this point Stefan figured out there was more to Katherine than her ruthless front. This topped with her helping him in season 5 marked her in his head more... human.
