If none of yall saw the wound on the dogs neck, or heard the guy say the dog had an encounter with another dog. The sock is to lower the chance to scratch the wound. And instead of a cone collar, the guy made the foam noodle collar as a simpler cone collar. Probably so the dog doesn't knock things over as much.

He even says the foam collar is an alternative "cone collar" the sock is on the same side of the neck the wound is on and is 10000000% on that paw to lessen the chance of reopening the wound. The dog had a wound on its neck. Instead of the normal cone collar that usually causes the dog to knock everything in the house over. The guy made the improvised foam collar. The sock it to lower the chance of scratching the wound back open.

The dog has a wound on its neck. Instead of using the cone collar. They improvised the foam collar and put the sock on the paw that would be scratching the wound to help prevent the sharper nails from re opening the wound.
Will it work??? Probably not unless they watch the dog 24/7 and stop him each time the dog tries to scratch it.

I don't get it.. The wound is ON HIS NECK so he shouldn't have ANY collar on till it heals and dogs scratch with their HIND leg, not the front so what's up with the sock? This whole thing makes as much sense as screen doors on a submarine
