This was a very helpful video as I embark on having my own pool built, Thank you so much for taking the time and energy along with very skillfull camera work to document all of this. I hope my sub has half the knowledge you do.
Just an FYI. Intelliflo pumps are suppose to be wired hot from and breaker and then controlled via the low voltage comm wire. Same with the system transformer. Should be wired from a breaker not through the filter pump relay.
Have you watched all parts of this video series? This system was ultimately wired this way you are stating. Pump originally was not connected to a automation system. Check out and watch all the way through and you’ll see the correction we made. Thanks for watching and hope your a subscriber!
To each is own. I install what is required and recommended for the “client”. I do have my preference but that choice is for my pool. Thanks for watching
i dont even know where to start with panel installation. i just started servicing pools 14 months ago and know some panel and electrical but its hard learning youre on your own. Pentair Classes are always right in the middle of the week and I am a one man show. How can I learn this?
Hey Jon, no I haven’t made a switch. I sell and install the brands that best suits the client. Even though I am bias to Jandy products, I look at what the client currently has and needs are and sell them on the right product for their pool. This clients equipment was totally Pentair. No reason to sell and install a Jandy automation system. Also I want to ensure that all equipment communicates seamlessly with each other. If you notice this client had a stand alone ichlor salt system, if I would have installed a Jandy automation load center, the client wouldn’t be able to control the salt system through the app. Also I would have to continue to test the salt levels with strips and walk over to the cell each time for adjustments as would the client. The pump controls would also stay independent from the automation system and that wouldn’t be ideal for the client. Even though most brands can cross communicate with one another, some features and controllability are lost with using different brand automation systems, and to me it looks wired to have all one brand of equipments and one piece of equipment of another brand.
Lmao I love that, I’ve spent enough time on the phone with zodiac about the MX8 being shit and trying to get warranty claims, that I know your pain Lmao
Instead of calling Jandy tech support, find out who is your regional rep and get to know them well. They can make warranty claim decisions and approvals much quicker than tech support can and often times send you the parts direct to you, as long as you are a legit pool company authorized to sell their products.

Get certified and work on the units at component level (replace parts inside the units) then you’ll learn it all. Good luck on your journey 👍🏼
What’s the gauge wire going into the Subpanel?
Don’t recall
So you can put the pump on com port j3 and or j2 ?
Thank you so much for this informational video , I appreciate your time
You are so welcome!
Can you confirm that the Heat Pump doesn't get wired into any of the AUX?
No it does not. It received its power from a breaker, and then receives signal and wired to the main board. Not to AUX
Lame question but I work outside all day. What brand are your shirts?
Did you switch away from Jandy?

@@EliteSwimmingPoolsTV Great man! Thanks for the great response!
Always
how big is the main feed to the sub panel 60 or 100amp?
When I saw his water hose, I thought that was all conduit and I was like “umm… wtf?” Lol
What part numbers did you use in this installation? Really like this series, and look forward to the rest of your videos.
The music why? it sounds like waiting on Jandy to answer the phone Great info though
I loved it. 😂
