That's not how the baroque era worked my guy. Folk music was everywhere on top of that thanks to the invention of printing not so long before that, it became cheap to print sheet music. This led to a new class of musicians that were hobbyists who could play as good as the professionals. Ask your money back from whoever taught you baroque history.

i bought one. it wasn't an "investment". it was $1 and i just bought it to directly support wu tang and pleasrdao... pretty much anyone experimenting with direct-to-artist payments is worth checking out in my book. i think it's cool that if you put in a dollar or two it speeds up the release date for everyone. if not, it still eventually becomes available for free.

Exclusive releases always end up in the worst hands. Especially with leaked material. I get how full accessibility has ruined artist's income, but on the other end good limited material just gets vaulted by the worst people with the most money or exploited like this situation.
that couldn't be further from the truth, accessibility has done the complete opposite. being able to discover, purchase and stream music easily only brings more money, the real problem is where the majority of that money goes. that's not a problem due to accessibly, it's due to capitalism. it's also proven with music, movies and games that with accessibly the rate of piracy drops dramatically too. people want and do buy that stuff if they don't have to jump through hoops to get it but the artists don't get their fair share cuz the big studios, companies and labels get most of it. if i'm not mistaken even back in the day the artists only made good money from lives and not physical album sales.

This album had been sold for some large quantities of money too (last time it was over 1M€).
Differently to this Wu-Tang Clan album, JMJ's one (from the rips) sounds decent enough, and some ideas were recycled in the next album, Zoolook (1984).

I can see one major problem... they bought the one copy, they didn't necessarily buy the copyright to the album. If you don't own the copyright, you can't redistribute/resell additional copies of the album. It's the same shit that tripped up that crypto group that wanted to republish the limited release production art book for Alejandro Jodorowsky's Dune. They just bought the book, not the rights to republish the book. Now they just own a book they radically over-payed for.
