Janacek's original idea was to use the viola d'amore. He decided against it in the final version for numerous reasons. But it appears one of the reasons was that he believed the quartet would never "make its way in the world" with an instrument hardly anyone could play. Now that the work *has* made its way, it's fascinating to hear it in what was Janacek's original conception.
De nuevo: qué buena experiencia escuchar por primera ocasión una pieza Musical. Es descubrimiento.
Wunderschön
I'm a little confused. The viola d'amore is used in the 2nd movt. only? And did the composer make this version himself?
