I'm sorry for the commercials that now litter my videos , I didn't put them there . If I get 1000 subscribers I can take them off, I'm not trying to make money from this clearly..
What a contrast between my home country and this, idea of desert is so alien to us kiwi's. What a wild contrast to transition too, I look forward to following along on this CDT thru-hike.
Enjoy the desert Ben... things look like they'll get pretty serious once you hit the snow (judging from what I'm seeing from my couch back in Melbourne!). Take care mate.
Just started watching your vids. I’m sure you’re far up the trail by now. I live in Albuquerque so I like watching folks traverse the state. I absolutely love the geography of the Western US. Im from The Southeastern US originally (subtropical). You’re the only thru hiker I’ve seen drinking beer. It must taste good after a long walk! Great luck to you on the rest of the hike!
No way!! Just started watching you're cdt series and I was already thinking: he seems kinda familiar... then you mentioned the azt! I'm pretty sure we met once on the azt last year when you passed me a day or two after Roosevelt marina! I remember you because I kept seeing your name in the log books😊 sometimes the internet is a funny place. Have fun out there! I'll keep watching your series, I wanna hike the cdt next year 😊 cheers, boomerang!
Boomerang! Yes I remember, from Germany. I've met a few SOBOs who were on the AZT last year, spice girl was on it early also. Good luck with the CDT, are you going to go north or south ?
@@anothertravelflog haha no way, didn't think you'd remember me :) I'll start nobo but since I only have until end of August I probably won't have time to do it all - so I'll see where to go once it get to colorado but will probably end up flip flopping 😊
@@anothertravelflog yeah I think it also depends a lot in whether it's a low or high snow year, wild fires etc, so I'll just start on April 20 and then go on from there, deciding on the go 😊
I'm a new subscriber as of just now and like how you conduct yourself. I know you will see the end of this trail. Welcome to the western united states ....
Good on you for making videos of your hikes. Can you do us a favour and create some play lists for them. It’s much easier to watch them in order and and play them sequentially. RUclips plays them in reverse order otherwise. Thanks mate.
Ben, you mentioned 'back to reality' after this one. Is this the last of the big walks for a while? I am limited to weekend walks, so am living vicariously through your adventures.
Hang in there. I was just like you for decades and now I am hiking like I never thought. Next year the Colorado Trail after that the PCT. Eventually work ends and the kids grow up. Fortunately the gear is so light now even old men like me can still hike pretty big miles for days on end. Take care
@@burpleson I'm normally a craft beer person, but I'm trying to ween myself off them lately. The stronger ABV takes a toll after a while. Anyhow I better get off here, I'm literally 5 miles from ravenswing farm brewery, a Sunday sesh awaits!
@@anothertravelflog sooooooo sorry! please forgive me ,New Zealand right? i just got mixed up with the accent .should have know i vist New Zealand in 2004 .very nice place
What’s wrong with Coors? For bands (not that anyone asked) I still watch ‘Men at Work’ videos, and Air Supply is advertising here in Albuquerque, playing at a big pavilion owned by a casino in the next few weeks.

Beer in your resupply! You might be my new favorite hiker. ❤️
Must have!
Good luck mate, looking forward to watching the trip!
Thanks spud
following....did the PCT twice and am still intimidated by the remoteness of this one,,,happy trails brother.
Thanks for following, hopefully I can make it

Definitely a big change, the dryness in the air is the biggest difference. Thirsty all the time
Epic. I've been looking forward to your next video. All the best for the rest of the trail
Thanks Eamon
Happy to find a CDT hiker to follow this year. It’s snowing in our Colorado mountains today so you are wise to take your time. Best to you! 👍🏻
Can you do a snowmelt dance for me?
Enjoy the desert Ben... things look like they'll get pretty serious once you hit the snow (judging from what I'm seeing from my couch back in Melbourne!). Take care mate.
The snow melt graphs are trending down now, hopefully it keeps up, never know might be a record melt with a bit of luck

Plenty carry it out, I just make a point of videoing it when I do so it makes me look Australian!

Looking forward to following your next adventure Ben. Say g'day to fellow aussie Nigel Christmas if your cross paths.
I think he started the day after me, someone said there was another Aussie on trail, named Nigel

Good stuff Ben. Looking forward to coming episodes. Jeez those ratllers were a disappointment (says he from his armchair)
Yeah they were very placid compared to the ones in Arizona last year

Yep, 18 months I had set aside, so this is the last one...I think

G'day Ben
How much difference is the umbrella making?
How do you think it would go on the Bibbulmun Track?
All the best

🤠
G'day Clive. Definitely make a difference, can walk in the low 30s in it, when with a hoodie or hat you bake. Just don't want it too windy
@@anothertravelflog a chance of a few extra weeks out hiking here with one then.
Cheers Ben.
Have a great walk mate.

That's a long way to carry a can of water for the first day's dinner.
Very true, but it's tradition
@@anothertravelflog No argument there, but your tradition deserves a real beer. I'm guessing that was the closest you could get in Lordsburg.
