My wife recently had a miscarriage. I bought books on becoming a father. Got a baby (doll or toy) to make sure our dog would be ready for the baby. Picked out names. It hurts so much to this day. I feel his pain and started crying again about it. I know things come in due time but the pain doesn’t go away at all. I put a lot of my pain to the side to ensure my wife was ok but never truly dealt with it. It hurts man.
Hopefully you guys can get what you want. For some, miscarriages are one of the worst things to happen to them. For some, they are relieved. Why would you be relieved that a baby just died, and you were celebrating?
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost a baby too and my ex-husband just didn't get it. We already had two sons and this would have been our third child. To me, the moment I found out I was pregnant, I started seeing a future with that baby and all the celebrations of life that were to come. I entered a deep depression for a while and eventually, I recovered. A few years later, I got the courage to try again. I was terrified that I would miscarry again, but we were blessed with a little girl and then a few years later another one. So now, in total we have raised four kids (2 boys and 2 girls). God is good. Prayng for you recovery and future blessing....

This is sooooo hard to watch. I'm in tears. I struggled with infertility for 9 years. I had 6 miscarriages that I know of, before my miracle 🌈 baby who is 10 now. Abortion has always been a tough subject for me. I haven't been in her shoes but if I were to, I'd want a supportive parter like this! I pray so hard that they become parents! 🙏🏽

It does seem strange to me as well that suddenly you are ready half a year later after your first abortion. I never talked to her (that person) about that (I shouldn't even know it in the first place) but my guess is that the abortion was hard on her mentally and she never wanted to go through it again. Oh wow I love them. I've begun to lose my faith in people - I'm Russian-American and between the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, my belief in the goodness of humankind is just shattered. This was the first time in a LONG time I've teared up not because of my own pain but because I got to see something so raw and beautiful between two people who are so incredibly GOOD. I hope everything works out for them and they get to grow old together, with a fantastic family and so much joy and love. I feel better knowing people like that are out there in the world.

Honestly they’re a good example of a mature couple. Not saying that all couples have to be mature to have a child but there’s a certain level of understanding when your partner didn’t expect to become pregnant and she doesn’t necessarily want to have a child at the time even though he’s fully ready. This is sooooo hard to watch. I'm in tears. I struggled with infertility for 9 years. I had 6 miscarriages that I know of, before my miracle 🌈 baby who is 10 now. Abortion has always been a tough subject for me. I haven't been in her shoes but if I were to, I'd want a supportive parter like this! I pray so hard that they become parents! 🙏🏽

I know someone who had an abortion as well because she and her partner weren't ready, but she got pregnant (again unplanned) after 8 or so months and now that baby boy turned two.

It makes me think though, were they really not ready if they wanted a child so soon afterwards? It seems irresponsible to go straight to the abortion route when it was more you not being careful enough to avoid the pregnancy, especially when a year into the child's life you'd have wanted one anyway. Idk, abortion being a form of late birth control with consenting people in a relationship feels too casual to me.
It's over now and of course they shouldn't dwell on it, but I'm more talking about others in the decision time before they go through with it.

I know what you mean, and I don't like that fact either. It does seem strange to me as well that suddenly you are ready half a year later after your first abortion. But you have to keep in mind that this can also affect people (probably most) A LOT, they question themselves, feel guilty, maybe even get depressed. Just because they did it, doesn't mean that it was easy. I never talked to her (that person) about that (I shouldn't even know it in the first place) but my guess is that the abortion was hard on her mentally and she never wanted to go through it again.
I just wanted people to know - if you decided to get an abortion at some point in your life for whatever reason: please don't think it's the universe/god/or whatever you believe in is punishing you with not being able to get pregnant ever again. 😊

My comment was more along the lines of preventing it in the first place (using more forms of birth control, not taking the abortion route so casually, etc) for both the parents and potential child's sakes.

I think that he still feels some resentment over her not wanting that first child. This was the first time in a LONG time I've teared up not because of my own pain but because I got to see something so raw and beautiful between two people who are so incredibly GOOD. I hope everything works out for them and they get to grow old together, with a fantastic family and so much joy and love. I feel better knowing people like that are out there in the world.

My husband and I lost our first baby at around 14 weeks, We just had our rainbow baby a month ago (term given for babies born after a miscarriage) and though we’re so blessed to have our healthy boy here, the pain of losing our first will never go away. it’s so important to discuss these things and take the stigma away from them.

Honestly they’re a good example of a mature couple. Not saying that all couples have to be mature to have a child but there’s a certain level of understanding when your partner didn’t expect to become pregnant and she doesn’t necessarily want to have a child at the time even though he’s fully ready. They’ll both make amazing parents and you can tell the love and respect they have for one another is infinite.
