It reminds me of F-Zero GXs Casino Palace II with the mirrowing and splitting tracks.

I really need to learn how to steer. I see videos like this, where folks have no trouble staying in the middle of the track, whereas I'm slipping and sliding all over the place, passionately making out with the walls.

It really is a balancing act between steering, strafing, and braking. Will take some practice, but you'll get it eventually!

      Probably brake more

    • @timothygooding9544

turn off all assists as they create bad habits & experiment with different turn rates and strafe strengths & stability to make something more comfortable to drive
turn for making your general direction and then adjust it with strafing, its ok to start turning a little early if you strafe to the outside to compensate
Typically here you'll see arcade loadouts which have crazy high stability & strafe strengths, it handles quite differently from early game career stuff. The late game is more reactive vs. early game builds have to take turns more proactively (prepare for the turn), like letting off the throttle, using brake and NOT strafing to increase turn rate, and strafing to the outside while you turn early like I mentioned before.
You'll get there (plus cloud ocean is a very hard track, mars is better to learn on)

@SOUL SEEKERto do a hard turn start turning and strafe out so you don't hit the inner wall. When the turn reaches you strafe inward
(base stability is much higher in redout 2 so turning has a larger effect, you may also need to let off the gas to not ram yourself into the inner wall)

Remember that braking improves your heat dissipation, while crashing just takes away health. You have only to gain from slowing down and tapping the brakes a couple times, over crashing and losing a potential split second of boost or worse, severa seconds for being already at low health and resetting your repair delay.
You often don't want to go 100% with steering, specially on concave turns, shallow slaloms and loops). Remember to approach with a good angle of attack, enter wide and hug the crash barrier making good use of the strafe controls to pull in or out as needed, and watch out you don't go too tight if there's an opposite turn right after (sometimes you don't need to steer nearly at all, other times it's better to play it safe and tap the brakes, stay in the center with the nose not pointing too hard off-center).
I'm in no way expert at the game, but I played a bunch and I hope you did as well during this time.

Red outline most likely just simulates how stressful the g-forces are on the pilot.
Similar thing happens in War Thunder in planes. I like it a lot.

Blood going to your eyes due to negative Gs and making your vision turn red is indeed called a "redout"

@@MG-mh8xp sorry that I failed to elaborate. I didn't mean the music tracks even though they're okay too,
I meant the design style of the courses specifically and how a player should navigate through them. I also think the futuristic architecture of the courses are pretty cool.
Edit: I'm into well built tracks that are hella long endurance races. Is probably what I meant.
      Of course though I can't do F-Zero GX's Phantom Road Slim-line Slits. 'T's friggin impossible sometimes 💀

@@vestalhearth127 well a lot of the tracks are great. The individual tracks themselves are 2 minutes long, shorter if you have stronger ships. But the boss tracks, including the one in this video, combine all the individual tracks so it fits into one "boss track"

      @vestalhearth127 13 дней назад

@@MG-mh8xp oh. THAT'S why the boss courses are so lengthy. Yeah, I didn't even know that because I'm a bit "new" to Redout. I was looking at things like Aero GPX and other games that reminded me of F-Zero, and so that's how I discovered Redout a couple months ago. But oh boy. Just a few minutes in on Redout 2 gameplay footage, and I'll admit, I was a bit hooked on watching the races... It's good stuff. 🔥
