- In this tutorial video, we will learn how to trigger a Power Automate flow for a selected row in an Excel file using the Microsoft Excel Online (Business) connector.
We'll utilize the Automate Work Tab in Microsoft Excel, powered by Power Automate, to easily trigger a flow for a selected row in Excel. We can also send input properties to flow from the selected Excel row.
Video will showcase a flow to send customized emails to users (mail merge scenario) based on data coming in from an Excel file. This will also include attachments data from Excel.

It runs on both client and the web.
The rollout to clients is currently in progress.

Another awesome video! This gave me a lot of ideas for how I can use this in my own job. Is there any way to trigger the flow with a button in the worksheet instead of having to open the Power Automate pane? Is it possible to customize the ribbon and add an icon in the ribbon to run the flow directly?

Trigger from button or customize icon - Im not aware if thats an option. From what I read, No.
@@RezaDorrani thank you for the quick response! I guess opening the PA pane isn't that big of a deal, but being able to assign flows to a shape or button like a macro in the desktop version of Excel would allow users to create some great interactive dashboards in Excel online.

I would love a button too. My group uses a google sheet with scripts that trigger based on cell conditions which is pretty handy
@dwang085 if there was a way to trigger the flow automatically when a cell value changed maybe you could have data validation in its own little table? Then write the flow to first evaluate the selected value when you pick something from the drop down list? This way it would only send the email if a certain value was selected. That might also allow the flow to reset the drop down list value back to a default ? Idk. Just an idea

There seems to be a limit of 1000 rows to pull into Excel using the power automate so could you please state if there is a workaround this? Appreciated
I believe there is a pagination setting in that action. Check documentation on it.

I have 2 lists in sharepoint,
1. One for user hierarchy.
2. Another for data.
Want to create an app, where logged in user can see all items assigned to him/her. Also, if a manager open that app he can see all items of his team members only.

Hello Reza, Can you please tell me how to add rows to Microsoft Entra ID (aaduser) table in dataverse through power automate? I have added to other look up columns like office, doctor, but i am not getting how to add this Microsoft Entra ID (aaduser) table column.
Aad user table is a virtual table. You cannot add data to it.

Im not aware of the issue or its fix
how to do it when I have in excel a file with dates and when the deadline approaches a specific date it automatically power automate reminds me about it , is it possible?
For that, you need to run the flow on a daily schedule, and query excel file to check if any dates match todays date and then send email.
I do not have a specific videos reference on this though.

@@Gunasekaran8 It requires E3 license or above as per documentation and is not rolled out to all regions for excel client yet but should be in excel online if file is in Onedrive or SharePoint
Hi Reza I cannot seee the flow created with that excel although i have automate tab i cannot trigger the flow
Flow must be created in default environment

@@shifamomin6547 Currently you cannot create a flow in non-default environment that you can call directly from excel. It's a limitation in product. I'm not aware of any workarounds.
