"Lawless man" is a story about a young boy named Ty. He grapples with unbearable pain after losing his mother and feels he's losing touch with his father, who is immersed in his own grief. Ty's world is filled with chaos, and he struggles to find his place in this dark labyrinth of emotions.
But everything changes when Hesher bursts into his life - a mysterious stranger with long hair, tattoos, and reckless behavior. Hesher suddenly shows up at their home and starts meddling in Ty and his father's lives, turning everything upside down.
Despite his eccentricity, Hesher becomes an unexpected and even vital companion for Ty. Together they embark on a dangerous and unpredictable journey, exploring the dark corners of the human psyche and facing unforeseen dangers.
Through their adventures, Ty learns to come to terms with the past, overcome pain, and hope for the future. He realizes that true healing can come from unexpected sources, and that even the strangest and most tangled people can turn out to be his most loyal allies.
Thus, "Lawless man" is not just a story about coping with grief and loss, but also about finding hope and true meaning in life in the most unexpected places and amidst the most unpredictable circumstances.

The name of the movie is Hesher (Another name for a headbanging metalhead) I'm an old-school Metallica fan, but avoided this movie because I didn't feel like I needed to see yet another Metallica documentary. Lo and behold, it was nothing of the sort. Brilliant movie, and it really touched home for me. In my opinion, Hesher WAS TJ, or was what TJ could become if things continued as they were. As someone who dealt with some serious life-changing crap at an early age, I know how things can go when you've got no support structure, when the adults around you are even crazier than you're becoming. It becomes more than easy to just say phukit. If societal mores and norms aren't helping you any, then why abide by them?

Lost his mother, doesn't understand how to deal with the pain. Doesn't know who to talk to. Can't understand the feelings.
Father junks the car because it can't be fixed. TJ obviously had memories being in the car that he can't let go of. Memories of mom and dad smiling, laughing and singing on the day of the accident.
Grandma trying to get her grandson to go for a walk with her broke my heart. There are times I wish I could walk with my grandmother around the block, sadly she's in heaven😢..
This is a very emotional and thought provoking movie.. And I don't say that about a lot of movies, because I don't watch a lot of movies.. But this one hits home and the heart..

0-25 mph in whiplash inducing 27 seconds. Downhill top speed a mind-blowing 54 mph , lost your keys , doesnt matter just turn the ignition. No oil in the engine, thats fine itl still run and drive.
If you have someplace to be , give yourself an extra 45 to 60 min just in case theres a hill to climb. And if there is a hill ( god forbid ) be kind and let others go before you attempt to climb the mount Everest of road hills , because you might not make it.

Two of them traveled the country and zero problems. Drove New York to Florida to California. Would not hesitate to get another if they were still made. Simple design and easy to work on. Biggest quirk was they all leaked water on the front floors during rain.

What a great movie! How have I never heard of this even once? Love the ending too. I bawled my eyes out and then the closing scene brought me right back up again. It’s like a rickety old rollercoaster at a second-rate theme park that’s fun and painful at the same time. Halfway through you’re like “I’m never riding this again” and by the end it’s “one more time!”
Also the characters are just so relatable. I could see a bit of myself in each of the main ones. I felt their pain as well as their joy as if they were my own.
Sidenote: I feel like Hesher is a grown up Sid Phillips (Toy Story) whose heart grew a size bigger after losing his left nut but the psycho streak was untouched

Rule #1- everything is subject to change. Sometimes for the better, usually not.
Sometimes your pool becomes a giant flaming thrash compactor on a Tuesday and you've got 3 more days before you can break down and lose it.
Sometimes you hit for like 20 bucks on a scratch off ticket and you're wearing clean underware. You just never know.

I saw this in theaters when it came out, mainly went bc I heard it contained music from Motörhead and Metallica. And it was freakin GREAT. It actually might be the best indie film of the past 20 years and the music was an added bonus.

This movie is interesting because Hesher in spite of putting on this "mysterious" facade, really isn't that mysterious. He doesn't tell anyone, let alone the audience, anything. He SHOWS the world and other people, though. Everything from his own experience with dealing with law enforcement/authority figures, to his respect and admiration for the grandmother, to the way he shows up in life for the little kid and not only seems to mind the pain and suffering of the house he finds himself in -- he relates to it, it's almost like he gravitates towards it. He's basically an older version of TJ, he probably also had an absentee father who was either abusive or not around, also emotionally checked out with drugs and whatever else, most likely dealing with traumas of HIS own, and was also raised by a grandmother or some other maternal figure who he likely never had a chance to show love for in his own youth so takes the opportunity to do so with TJ's grandmother instead, and pushes TJ to take advantage of that while he still can. I don't want to assign a "guardian angel" role to Hesher because it's so much more complicated than that, seeing Hesher go from a little boy himself playing in someone else's pool (also a metaphor by the way) to actually then devolving into a meditative rage at the pool, destroying a symbol of tranquility and order belonging to someone else who wasn't even around to appreciate it in the first place -- honestly that scene alone tells you everything you need to know about him. He's STILL HURTING, clearly, just like the little boy is and kind of stands as a humanized characteristic reference for what happens when someone like TJ finally grows up -- or doesn't, as the case may very likely turn out to be, just like Hesher himself. Shaped by his own traumas but actively, in the present, vs. the past as it very clearly is for Hesher.
