  • This campground has been on my bucket list for a long while. I was particularly interested due to the fact that you need to climb up a fun trail to reach the campground. The road there was mostly paved, but did have some rutted areas. I was able to reach the campsite with only 2WD and minimal clearance.
This is a primitive campsite so do not expect there to be running water. However, there are working restrooms nearby. We made sure to bring a lot of water and for two days. The campsite offers a lot of space between you and neighbors. We were lucky enough to go there on a weekday and found the site to be mostly empty.
The site is gorgeous and offers great views of the Banning Pass and Mt. San Gorgonio. There was a lot of bugs, mainly flies around when we visited in June. So much that we had to wear our face bug nets during the day. Overall, this is an awesome campsite and we would definitely return.

Yes, 100% can make it up. There are only a few rutted areas towards the end. Some parts of the trail are even concrete lol

@@Doom_runner sweet! Figured I’d be able to. Made it up to Santiago peak a few weeks ago too, so I’m certain it’s capable. My buddy that invited me up was concerned about the conditions tho.

@@Ok_nick That's awesome. I'm literally going to Santiago Peak next week for the first time. Bro the only conditions you guys have to worry about was the amount of flies that have spawned recently lol. I definitely recommend bring bug spray and net covering/protection. Hopefully, it's not as bad now.

We saw a Honda accord and a Tesla small sedan past this campground (fuller ridge trail). OP did you hike to the lookout tower?
