    You make some good points. We probably shouldn't be interfering with the schedule of puberty for psychological reasons either.

    Although I don't agree with all of your points I do feel that this rational presentation of argument is very helpful. It is my understanding that estrogen or testosterone can not actually offer the opposite puberty and consider how complicated hormones are it seems like a huge risk to by pass natural puberty with an attempt to do so with just one hormone could have horrible consequences. From personal experience my dad transitioned and she took estrogen that resulted in health complications that lead to her death and debilitating depression because she was unprepared for the emotional changes introducing estrogen into system caused along with weight gain, diabetes, and peripheral artery disease, and high blood pressure that may not have been directly a result but was definitely part of the changes in her body and mental state after adding estrogen. As far as these things go adults have every right to choose this even if it's dangerous but a 14yr old does not have the mental brain development, maturity, or life experience to make an informed consenting decision on the very real life altering choices. So while my empathy is strong for the fear they have about going through a puberty that doesn't match the idenity they feel belongs to them how can responsible adults give them these hormones to them before they are in a position to fully understand the consequences they may face to their physical health and mental health for the rest of their lives.

    You lost me at "assigned at birth" when you could have just as easily said "born with". No one "assigned" it. You're clearly biased.

      Because the government assigns your gender based on a dichotomy that doesn't exist in reality. You're clearly stupid.

      You obviously don’t know how this works. Your sex is assigned at birth, but even if you are intersex, one is just chosen for you at birth. But at the same time, your gender identity is also assigned to you, even if not on paper. The vast majority of parents are assigning a girl identity to their child when they are assigned "female" at birth.

    Ok once i heard "puberty blockers are not irreversible" i literally stopped listening. This is a lie & she being a licensed professional should know this is a lie. Either that or her research is horribly biased.
    Also the ozempic example is a severely flawed argument. People using ozempic for weight loss are suffering horable side effects. She either doesn't know this or she's assuming her audience is ignorant of these facts

      @@hughcipher66 I think you misspoke in your comment friend. She said puberty blockers are reversible.
      As (I think) you meant to say, the truth is that they are NOT reversible. They cause lifelong side-effects that don't go away when you stop taking them.

    I don’t agree with your opinions on this topic, as I ultimately see this as a mental health issue. However, I love the way you defend your position with such clarity and evidence. Your demeanor is perfect for discussing this topic, and I appreciate the thoughtful way you present your points. I also had no idea about blockers being used for precocious puberty-that’s something new for me to consider in the conversation.

    • @ApacheMagic
      @ApacheMagic Месяц назад

      Using it for precocious puberty is completely different because it’s addressing an actual pathology.
      The difference in the brain is the exact same difference we see in same sex attracted people.

    I will add though that I subscribed so that I could learn more on the topic in general. I probably won't change my mind on kids but a better understanding on gender disphoria from someone who isn't screaming erationally about it but has thoughtful points to say about it is refreshing.
