Yet another fantastic, informative and comprehensive video by the one and only Robert MacCready! No one comes up with original content like this man does! This was a fantastic follow up refresher to the original launch mode video he did a few years ago. No wonder Mr. MacReady is the number one Corvette guy on RUclips! He always comes up with original content and never disappoints. Thank You Mr. MacCready for the time and effort you put into your wonderful videos. We appreciate you!!
Mine is doing consistant 3.0 without using launch control. Once the tires heat up 2.8 to 2.9. I put in Z mode and I just hold my left foot on the brake and rev it just a tad then stomp on the gas. I actually never tried launch control. lol. love this car. This is in Florida.
Thanks for the enjoyable video. Great trial and error detective work in the quest for the best 0-60 times. And I should definitely say I also enjoyed the very "Napoleon Dynamite-esque" music towards the end! Queue up the song "Bus Rider" by John Swihart! thanks again!
Thanks for another great video. Had my C8 for 20 months now and still have not tried launch control. I need to take a trip to Mexico and give it a try! 😜
I raced a c-7 Z06 the other day in my C8 stingray. We started at about 50 miles per hour. he left me. lol. steadily pulled away. That car is amazing. If we started from stand still I could probably take him the first 1/8th mile or so because of traction. The C8 is a great car though and I personally will stick with it. Maybe would take a ZR1 over the C8.
Yup, and with this new 2022 I thought it would be interesting to compare the cars. BUT my guru in Texas, who runs the TeamZR1 net, told me that the few tents probably are in the Density Altitude D/A. So, I'm keeping track and hoping for a good D/A day and will do some more runs.
@@RobertMacCready Is this not the same stretch of road in Florida/Mexico? If so, it’s hard to believe density altitude was playing much a role if you’re at the same elevation.
The unprepared road is very unpredictable I noticed that if it has not rained In a while the dust and oils makes it slippery… to get good numbers you should not hear any tires squeal at all
It's the D/A which stands for Density Altitude. If you D/A is high your car will lose HP. If your D/A is low your car will perform better. The trick is to do launched when the D/A is in your favor. You can search Density Altitude Calculators on the internet or use the one TeamZR1 uses. Plug in the Temperature, Dew Point, and Pressure. If the D/A is low they it's time to make some 0 to 60 runs!!!

I think the C8 is the best bang for the $$. And give launch contol a try. It's very good. And if you have PTM then try an autox or track day!!

Yup, you'd be surprised how quick you get there!!!!
I can't make up my mind between C-7 Zo6 and C-8!

Good point.
What kind of phone holder is that?
Cell Phone Holder: ProClipUSA.com
It works very well in the car and is an easy install.
I can't get faster than 3.2 seconds either, with my 2023 Z51 HCT. What is wrong with our cars????
