    It should be pointed out, that the first part of your video sounds perfect, and unlike any other recent models, its tone present a real american vintage strat ever made by fender !!!

    RJ, what i love about all of your videos is that you cover all of the bases. As a life long Stratocaster player, this is a perfect representation of why this guitar is so iconic. Well done, my friend.

    What intrigues me is not just the sparkling chime but also the lack of any noticeable single coil hum in audio I'm hearing of these 54 replica pickups. I love my Am Standard Strat with Fat 50's, but they hum so loud I only play in the 2 & 4 positions. These almost seem noiseless, and yet have the best tone (especially in the middle position).

    I do like Strats with a maple neck. Just a preference I have for strats...roasted maple on a Tele is pretty sweet too.

    • @GCKelloch
      @GCKelloch 3 месяца назад

      Maple FB, yes. It also makes a difference in high-end sparkle if it has a thick hard finish over the frets, like they did originally, and on some current models. I have a 3rd party roasted Maple neck with catalysed poly sprayed on b4 the frets were applied. It's a tough enoigh finish so it won't crack under the frets, and also has good sparkle. Unfinished or oiled Maple absorbs more highs.

    They really nailed the vibe of the original. My luthier friend and I were just talking about the back of vintage strat headstocks and it does offer a different timbre than more modern designs. Very cool, @Fender ! Nice playing, as always my friend. 🤘😎

    Guess what Fender...it is still a strat...and a strat is a strat.. ,,,an assembly line guitar with a bolt on neck. Oh, but wait... this one has the 'bonus features' of a 1 ply pickguard, 3 way switch and rounded pickup covers.

      American Professional II can be had cheap at the moment also but my Mexican Vintera 70's Strat doesn't even need a pickup upgrade and is indistinguishable from the Vintage II version.

  • @masterchef3019

    A good sounding instrument, but why would anyone drop 2800 on this when you can get a better strat elsewhere for cheaper???

  • @Mr.D34
    @Mr.D34 3 месяца назад

    I love Fender but I don't understand the hype about these anniversary series. Nothing special about the wood and the finish apart from nitrocellulose. You can easily get '50's style pickups from Seymour Duncan or Bare Knuckle. Fender comes up with an anniversary series every 3 years or so now, it's ridiculous.

    • @masterchef3019
      @masterchef3019 2 месяца назад

      Nostalgia selling to the older generation and iconography for the younger generation. That’s why it still sells

  • @MrIkesimba
    @MrIkesimba 3 месяца назад +1

    Wow... take slightly better wood, run it through the exact same CNC machine that made your $400 Squire, upgrade the hardware & pickups, spray nitro instead of poly, and add about an hour of extra human, hands-on finishing. If Fender charged $1k i'd say ok. $2600?!?!? F off Fender. This is just an obnoxious cash grab. Sorry, but the entire POINT of Leo Fender's designs was to make an assembly line manufacturable instrument that would keep costs down. Jack Pearson plays a Squire, enough said. Oh, and this is no Knock on RJ, he's probably my favorite player on youtube.

  • @flybynight1929
    @flybynight1929 3 месяца назад

    Gee, another Strat. Still have to play a hundred of them to get one kind of okay, but still with that awful bridge/trem design that tears your skin up, a front plug jack that gets in the way, and ugly paint job that hasn't changed in 70 years. At least it doesn't still have a horribly designed neck joint that is going to snap at some point, like a LP.
