- The week of GASTRULATION! Watch the transformation as a two-layered embryo becomes a three-layered embryo. You looked like a jam sandwich when you were this young.
Fascinating to learn to the role of the Notochord which later is obliterated and is the early footprint of the spinal cord, supporting early communication of the development of the nervous system.
I absolutely adore these videos. I almost feel as if I'm being told a fairy tale. Super engaging and informative !!
THANK YOU PROFESSOR
Hi there. I love your videos and the way you teach. I wish my teachers taught like that. Just watched the 3 christmas lectures over at RI's channel. Kindly make a playlist for Primates evolution, Organic Evolution, Fossils and Genetics. Thanks.
Mind and hands in perfect harmony.
Love the jam sandwich analogy.
Astonishing.. .3 weeks out of 9 months and all of this has happened already.
Professor, this is fascinating!! Thank you for putting this together.
Amazing. Great to know. Thanks
I wonder if that explains why we all love a snowman? “We’re walking in the air”.
Hi, if this was in a film no one would believe it. Lol. I assume all the building blocks for the cells are coming from the mother via the intercellular fluid. Quite amazing as all this growth is happening away from a rich blood supply. What size is the embryo at this stage?
All the cells come from the single fertilised egg! This first few weeks of embryonic development is just astonishing in terms of growth in numbers of cells. During that third week, the embryo (the germ disc itself) grows from around half a millimetre long to around 2mm.
So complex!!
Is the notochord going to form out of the ectorderm , or out of the endoderm?
Greattt... we all start life as a butthole...
👏 👏 👏 ❤️❤️❤️
