- Hey Guys,
I have been asked and have been wanting to work with all the Tim Holtz collage paper rolls that I have been hoarding. I wanted to see how it would look on different surfaces so I collaged everything I can get my hands on so you don’t have to. Take a look at how the collage paper works on different paper items. See which is your favorite. Let me know what you guys think. Links to my supplies I used will be listed below.

Happy Crafting!
Paper is beautiful. These would be great for junk journal.
I'm one of those people that enjoys a longer video. Even with cable, I prefer RUclips. Even when whoever I am watching mentions what they watch I usually haven't seen it. 😂
Hi Devin! If you like longer videos then my channel is definitely for you :)
thank you so much for watching
Just found you yesterday doing another project, I'm hooked. Love your process, your voice, what you say, very good teacher. Love all your projects, can't believe you have a family of 6. How do you get to play? Have you ever showed your studio? Keep all your supplies. Thank you
The birds on the wooden tags are my favorites.
Thanks Carol
Terrific video! You really had a jam-packed one this time! So many examples, it was really fun to watch & think about similar things I can use! I might add one other hint that I didn’t see anyone offer you: this collage paper is fairly strong so swiping with the little card worked fine! But napkins & tissue paper aren’t as strong & people are using the soft silicone spatulas that come from the beauty industry! I think they’re used in facials or something! They’re smaller than kitchen tools & very flexible! Amazon has tons to choose from, mine has two ends with slightly different shaped spatulas. I don’t have a car, so I shop mostly on Amazon, but I’ll bet even the dollar stores have picked up on this one, too!! I enjoyed the entire video & I think the wooden tags & the little bottle-shaped cards are the ones I liked the best! Thanks so much for taking the time to give us so many options! Erica❤ Have a nice weekend!❤
Hi Erica! You are so nice. I’m so glad you enjoyed all the different items I tried collaging. It was fun to see what else I can use. I have the silicone spatula you’re talking about and I did get it at Dollar Tree and never thought to use it. I forgot I even had it. Thanks for the tip. And thanks so much for watching. :) Maggie
All of these are really cute, you are really creative with all of these things. Thank you for the share.
Thanks Deborah
What a great idea to collage the playing cards!
Hi, love the projects you did. By the way, try a sanding block or even an emery board to do the edges! Works really well. TFS :)
Thanks for the tip Patty! I just recently found a nice sanding pad at Hobby Lobby that I think I’ll have to try on these projects. Thanks so much for watching!
I love the bottles and birds. And you can use a water pen or small paint brush with water to paint around tags or image and it then tears easy. I learned that from others doing the mixed media❣️thanks Maggie. Great video
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching
A nail file on the edges will take off the collage paper evenly. Works really well.
Hi Cora, yes I agree. Luckily I bought a little sanding pad from Hobby Lobby and it works perfectly
I did a pumpkin with his roses collection it was beautiful I love Tim holtz stuff better quality and great stuff. He is so creative.
Hi Leota. I’m sure your pumpkin turned out beautifully. What a great idea. Thanks so much for watching
Awesome ideas! Love all your creations! You are absolutely my favorite creator to watch!!❤❤❤
Wow Tammy! Thank you so much. I really appreciate you watching. So happy you are enjoying my content. Have a blessed weekend
Thank you❤
OMG- I’ve hoarded his collage paper forever!
Hi Diana. I think we all have. I just wanted to find ways to finally use them. Thanks for watching
Excellent directions and inspirational tutorial! I’m like you….i get all excited to buy art supplies but then hesitate you to use them because they’ll begone. If I were. Millionaire…I would buy 2 of art supplies I buy to use 1 and keep 1. Thanks for your video!
Hi Barbara, I’m with you. I definitely hesitate to use up my stash but thought if I want more supplies, I need to use what I have to make room. Lol
Thanks for watching
Recent subscriber. I have made so much ephemera after watching your videos. I have 3 rolls of this collage paper (all black & white) didn’t know what to do with it. Now I’m going crazy covering everything I can get my hands on. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
I’m so glad I was able to share some fun ideas to use the collage paper on. The possibilities are endless. Lol
Thanks so much for watching
I found several of these tags at Dollar Tree. I had to order all the Tim Holt Collage paper! These are just to cute
Glad you found some tags. Especially at Dollar Tree, that is so great!
I’m missing a couple more of the Tim Holtz collage paper rolls, they’ll be in my shopping cart soon. Absolutely love them! Thanks for watching
I use a sanding block to clean up my wood edges. Great. Video Maggie as they all are.
Or a nail file I also have the field notes one plus I have the bug stamps to try with them.
Thanks for the tip Isabel. I actually purchased a small sanding pad from Hobby Lobby and have been using that. Thanks for watching
I liked everything but the last bag best.
thank you so much Cora! I’m so glad you liked this project. It was a lot of fun
Hi Maggie! I love watching your videos and your always so positive and inspiring! You could use a brayer to smooth out your collage paper too…works great! TFS
Hi, thanks so much for the tip. I’ve been wanting to get a brayer, now I’ll have to add one to my cart on Amazon. Another reason why I need one.. lol. Thanks so much for watching.
LOVE EVERYTHING YOU MAKE......
Thank you so much Margie!!
I LOVE the bird paper
I think it’s one of my favorites too!
As an art teacher I found the kids really enjoyed collage and made some wonderful works of art
Hi Janine. Thanks so much for watching
Love a long video ❤❤❤👍
Thanks for watching Debbie
Great projects. I always just collage the little pieces I cut off the edges instead of throwing them away.
Hi Sharon! That’s a great tip. Let nothing go to waste. Thanks so much for watching
Loved this! I am so inspired. The playing cards were a favorite of mine. But you really shared a lot of options. Thanks!
Hi Glynda, thank you so much for watching
love what you did - have 3 rolls of TH paper myself, and wooden tags, that I didnt know what to do with - now I know and a lot of ideas THANKS.
Hi Lilian! I’m so glad I was able to inspire new ideas in using the collage papers. Have lots of fun and thanks for watching
Hi Maggie just caught this vdeo, it's brilliant. Love the assortment of things you've made, the birds are especially beautiful but love the technique used. Brilliant. Crafty hugs Jacqui 💖💖
Hi Jacqui, so glad you enjoyed this video. It was fun to see how it all worked out. Thanks so much for watching
Instead or cutting or tearing the paper, try a tiny paint brush wet with water, you can draw out your tear line with the damp brush. I hope that makes sense. Great video!!
Got it! Thanks for the tip Sondra
Inspiration for sure! I have all of those items too and need to use them. Ty! Christine
Hi Christine, glad you enjoyed this project. Thanks so much for watching
Brilliant little card bottles
Hi Sam! You’ll want to come back on Wednesday for my next haul. I found new bottle cards. They are so much fun!
You come up with so many ideas! Instead of scissors, I’ve seen people use a nail file, or a very fine grit sanding block, to clean up the edges. I can’t pick a favorite, they all came out so good and would have different uses. Get yourself a pack of the Dollar Tree chopping mats to protect your table. They come in a two-pack.
Hey Rhonda! Thanks for the tips! Those were great. I’ll definitely look into those. Thanks again for always watching!
Loved it! Thanks for sharing. 💡
Thanks for watching Robin
Maybe a bit of white gesso under the tissue paper. Would knock the image behind back a bit, so the tissue shows better. Thanks so much for all the wonderful inspiration. Always enjoy watching and learning new things!
Hi Sheila! Thanks for the tip. And thank you so much for watching. I’m so glad you are enjoying my content.
Use an emery board or sanding block to clean up the edges of decoupage instead of scissors. It works beautifully!
Thank you so much for the tip! I found a small sanding pad at Hobby Lobby for future projects. ;) thanks so much for watching!
Love what you did here...
Hi Susan! Thank you so much for watching!
How about using a sanding block to get rid of the excess collage paper. Looks great anyway. TFS
Got it already. Thanks Louise
Wonderful tutorial. Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching Nancy
Hello Maggie, I'm Kay Michele with Lady Dragonfly Designs, nice to meet you. Just came across your channel. Love everything Tim's makes!! But I don't have that "Photographic" Collage Paper. 🛍 I need to go shopping!! You have such a calming sweet voice. I'm sitting here organizing all my ephemera while I'm watching you collage!! Great video!! Much Love form Texas!!💕💕
Hi Kay Michele. I appreciate your kind words. You’re very sweet. I’m glad you enjoyed my video. Thanks so much for stopping by!
These really turned out cute. Tfs😊
Hi Kathy! Thanks! I appreciate you watching
The birds with the bird’s nest on the wooden tags are my favorite. TFS.
I think those are my favorite too. Thanks for watching Jennifer
Doing your application of your matte medium on a silicone craft mat works really well. It won't stick and cleans up easily with water or hand sanitizer. I like your videos.
Hi Cora, thank you so much for all your tips! They are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for watching
You can send the sides of the wooden tags, you have given me so many ideas Thank you
Thanks so much for watching Bonnie
Wow Tfs
Thanks for watching Lolly!
I love his collage paper and I just tear off any excess, it gives a nice slightly tattered look....just tear back, not forward....and make sure the paper is really really dry
Thanks for the tip Sophie. That’s a great idea. Thanks so much for watching
Oh Maggie all are great. I have some giant cards I want to cover.
I love the potion bottles.😊
Hi Isabel, thanks! You should try it, it’s so much fun! Thanks so much for watching
Hi Maggie, I love all of these, your so creative. I sit down with my supplies and my head empties out of ideas. So ty for helping me make things lol...I also wanted to tell anyone looking for those elixir card games I found them on Amazon....
Hi Kerry. I know the feeling. Sometimes the creativity is on hiatus. Lol
I also found the game cards on Amazon and shared a link to a few people. It’s also on my Amazon Storefront. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully people will see them there.
Thanks for watching
@@SunsetCraftsi did ask you in an earlier video ...not sure if you mentioned in a video but where did you purchase the drawers you keep your ephemera in? Can you maybe show your set-up how things are stored in it?
@kerrymartin9103 Yes, I remember and I did answer. I buy them at Marshalls, Home Goods and TJ Maxx. I’m thinking of making a video of my crafty space set up one day. Not exactly sure when but maybe soon. Thanks!
You can use cheap nail files to scrape the excess off of the wooden tags and cards after they dry.
Thanks for the tip Ashley. Thankfully I found a small sand paper pad at Hobby Lobby that works great. Thanks so much for watching
Perfect! That works too!
Hi Maggie, so happy I found your channel. I love the length of your videos. You never rush and i love your ideas. I've been hoarding my tim holtz collage papers and my wooden tags. You've really inspired me to start using them. I appreciate your time to put together a long video. Thanks for your time. 🤗
Hi Phyllis! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video. I couldn’t decide what to collage so I literally took out everything I could think of in my stash! LOL! I’m happy with the response I’m getting on the length of this video. I was a little concerned but joyfully surprised it’s been a hit. Thank you for watching!
I've just found you recently and really enjoyed the best of video you did most recently! After seeing that I've gone through and checked out the ones that I liked most, Incl this one. I don't have the same paper but I got out some vintage pages, some napkins and glued along with you! :) Thanks for sharing such fun ideas!
Hi Leeza, welcome to my channel. I’m so happy you were able to craft along with me. I hope you continue to enjoy my content. Thanks so much for watching and hope to hear from you again soon. :) Maggie

Hi Brenda! I’m so glad this inspired to you use them. I’ve hoarded mine for so long I just HAD to do something with them. Thanks so much for watching
Maggie these are fabulous! Great ideas! Can’t wait to use some of my TH papers like you! I loved the bags and the bottle shaped cards best!

Hi Sandy! Thanks so much for watching
When you said everything you meant it haha. Can't wait to see what your creative mind comes up with. Very cute so far. Never heard of nonstick scissors. You can say cute and cool all you want. I love the wooden tags the best
Love the potion bottles the way the color comes through and playing cards. Thanks for all your hard work to keep us entertained . I enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks
Hey Suzy! You are always so sweet! Thank you so much for watching! I couldn’t decide what I wanted to collage so I did it all. I knew the video was going to be long but I couldn’t stop. Lol! I’m so glad you enjoyed the process. It was a lot of fun!
Wow, so many great ideas!! I have some of the collage paper and was struggling with ideas for using it. So this video is very helpful. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Bobbie, thank you so much for watching.
Me watching this while I do my hair:
Mmmmm hmm!
No, girl, me too!
Huh, how about that?
Cuuuute!
I know, right?
Yeah, TOTALLY cute……
As if we’re home girls…..❤
Hi Gena! That was so great! I loved reading your comment. That just made my day. Thank you so much for watching. I’m happy I was able to keep you company. :) From your home girl ~Maggie
I watched and ate chocolate 🍫 and thought I need to stop hoarding mine too lol 😂
That’s awesome! Lol… I can totally see myself doing the same. Thanks so much for watching!
yes i know about hoarding the collage rolls never sure what to use them on lol
Hi Rhonda, well hopefully this will give you some ideas. Thanks so much for watching 🤍
So much fun, and they turned out so good!!! You’re very inspirational!!!! Tfs❤
Oops, forgot to say…potion bottles and playing cards are tied for me!!!❤
Hi Terri! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate your kind words. Very sweet.
I really like the playing cards too. The potion bottles are really cool aren’t they? Thanks so much for watching
I don’t have any of that collage paper but I have some nice patterned tissue paper that might work in a similar way so definitely going to try this, I love the things you made ❤
Hi Belinda! I’m almost positive that the tissue paper would work out great! You can even use the matte ModPodge and I’m sure that would work just as well too. Thanks so much for watching
Hi. I think I'm going to pick up some of that collage paper. It looks so good. I use an old nail file to "cut" close to the edge on tags and stuff.
Hi Karen! You should definitely get some, they are so pretty. I’m still missing a few and in doing this video, it made me want more! Lol. Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to get one. Thanks so much for watching
Hi Maggie! Love what you created! I love collageing, it is very relaxing. My favorites are the tags, cards and potion bottles. Great find on those! Super fun to decorate.
Hey Friend! It was a lot of fun! I couldn’t decide what to collage on camera so I did it all, hence the super long video! LOL! Those are my faves too. Love the wooden tags with the birds! Seems like those and the potion cards are a top favorite for everyone
P.S. Hope you feel better soon!
I love this idea. Often I forget whT I have. I am going to do this. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed these projects Sandra. Thanks so much for watching
My problem is finding all my stash so I can create. I'm terrible at hoarding my finds.
Super.Vintaj blok von Tim Holtz jest dobry do obtarcia papieru na brzegach zamiast rozdzierania albo obcinania.Zaginasz papier na brzegu Taga i jedziesz papierem sciernym i gotowe.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie.😘
Hi Emmy, thank you so much for the tip. I have been told this many times ☺️ So I finally went a bought a small sanding pad to use for this type of projects. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your tips. 🤍
Love these projects, Maggie! And look how your channel has grown in a short time. So happy for you! ~Vel
Ps. I've had those repair tags on order from Amazon for months. I think your one video caused a run on them! Lol
Hey Girl! Thanks so much for stopping by.
The repair tags? Really? That’s crazy! I did link similar ones just in case anyone was interested. I hope you’re doing well. Thanks again for watching
If you sand or gesso the card with white gesso then the picture on the collage paper would show.
Thanks Cora for the tip
I’ll have to try these. They are really cute. A couple of tips came to mind. I’m not sure how they will work, but maybe use the little Tim Holtz water brush to wet the paper where you want to tear it. Also, the little TH sanding discs could sand off the paper on the edge of the wooden tags. I’m probably not explaining this very clearly. I tried talking to the video, but, I don’t think I was loud enough, ha ha.
Hi Laurie! I totally get what you’re saying about the water brush and the sanding disk. I have water brushes that I could try. I might need to look into the sanding discs. That would be cool to have. I’ll have to check out your video, but I’m sure it’s fine! ;)
You can find the wood tags on Temu
I just searched it and yes, there they are. But I’m not surprised. You can find practically anything on Temu. Lol. Thanks Sandra!
❤
I tried to stencil with distressed crackle paste but it ALL fell off when dry! So then I went searching for my Tim Holtz tissue paper tubes and still can’t find them, argh! Lol😊
Hi Annette! I hate when that happens. You put something away for safe keeping and you keep them EXTRA safe because you never find it again. LOL
Happens to me ALL the time! :)
Thanks for watching…hope you find them soon. ;)
Wooden tags ❤
Hi Joan! Yup! I agree, the wooden tags are my favorite too. But I think the playing cards are a close second for me. Thanks so much for watching
thank you love the ideas!!! love the wooden bird tags. if you were to sell those at a craft fair, how much would you ask for them?
Hi Pamela! I’m so glad you enjoyed this project. I’m not really good and pricing things since I don’t sell any of my projects yet. I’m sorry I couldn’t help
@@SunsetCrafts i think you should! you are very good.
You’re so sweet. Thank you very much
Does any one know where to get the Card Bottles she used What do you look for anyone Know Please
Hi very neat! But are you using glue or mod podge.
Hi Sharen. At the 5:40 mark on the video I shared the product I used. It’s called Collage Medium in Matte by Ranger (Tim Holtz). It’s a translucent gel used for gluing and sealing, like mod podge. I also have it linked in the description. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching
The cute cards are on Amazon, but $9 a pop.
No kidding? Wow!
where did you find those black and white playing cards?
Hi Nancy…I wish I could remember. I think it might be either Five Below or Thrifted at Goodwill. I’m so sorry
@@SunsetCrafts i found some on amazon
Hello Maggie, how long are your tags please? I found some at Temu but I would like to know the measurement please? Thanks, I have the Tim Holtz ones but they are bigger they measure 6-1/4'x 3-1/4' 😁
Which tags are you referring to?
@@SunsetCrafts the white label where you stuck the Tim Holtz paper 😊
@francoiselizen those are the wooden tags and measure 4”x2”
@@SunsetCrafts Ok thank you 😊
Where did you get the paper bags? Thank you
Hi Diane! The slender bags I originally purchased from Temu but I did add a link to some similar ones from Amazon. The link is in the description of this video. The wider bags were from Walmart. I hope that helps. Thanks so much for watching
@@SunsetCrafts thank you
What do you seal it with?
Hi Lisa..I used the Tim Holtz Collage Medium. You can use Mod Podge too
What’s The name of The paper Bottles called I can’t find them Any-One?
