I am definitely saddened by exandria losing the D&D gameplay, I know I’m not the only one, but I was deeply hoping for more exandria D&D setting books before any system changes
Personally I don't mind them switching to Daggerheart, I'm more interested in the world of Exandria so as long as they stay with Exandria for Campaign 4 I don't personally mind.
I mean to be fair, all that’s been announced is an Exandria oneshot using Daggerheart for one liveshow. That’s hardly a hard and fast announcement they’ll be using it in Exandria permanently.
Tbh, we don't KNOW what CR intend to do after the end of C3. Yes - they will almost certainly run a Daggerheart campaign, and they may well run D&D games as well. But we don't KNOW the setting - Character Sheet has just made a presumption
Daggerheart is great, however it is unavailable to many countries in South America. Up to today, it is impossible to preorder the game from my country, Chile. I hope they manage to do something about it.
@@TheCharacterSheet Thank you for your reply. I have brought it up to them on Twitter a couple of times and I trust they can give a solution or alternative for those of us who really want to support the game by preordering. If not, I really hope there is more stock of the Limited Edition when it is released!
Pretty sure the only thing confirmed is that they will be doing their first Daggerheart one shot set in Exandria. So that's the extent of it becoming a Daggerheart world for now.
I'm on the side of D&D. I know people like Daggerheart but, i just don't like the system. D&D is king for multiple reasons. I know Hasbro has ....issues but we don't have to play with the most updated rules. As for Critical Role, I'm sadly passing on the next campaign if they use daggerheart. I love the world but I love the D&D D20 system just as much.
It’s still not officially known which system they’re going with for the next campaign. Personally, I like Daggerheart so much better than D&D, and having run both systems as a GM it seems like DH would fit the cast’s collective play style a lot better than D&D. One of the bigger stumbling blocks the CR episodes often has is when the combat starts to grind to a halt due to D&D’s tendency to become ‘Rules Lawyering: The Game’. DH manages to avoid that while still having complexity to the system. Ultimately, though, it all comes down to personal preference, and I hope this doesn’t come of as me saying you’re wrong for liking D&D over Daggerheart. It should be interesting to see what they ultimately decide; I’m certainly not going to be upset if they go with D&D.
@@diaperwomantyreen2966 the CR team have been in several interviews the last few months saying they’re going to still be using D&D as well as showcasing Daggerheart…what remains to be seen is whether or not they’ll switch the Exandria flagship game to that system. Personally I think playing their main Exandria campaign with Daggerheart would make the community reception of that communal world building harder to sell than if their cast could sit down and build up a new setting from scratch. But til they announce their next steps this is all speculation!
I prefer Daggerheart, not only because it gives more freedom than having to rely on Wizards and Hasbro, since those 2 companies already screwed over CR before, but also because it fits where the world Of Exandria is going right now, there's even two God's that fit the Hope and Fear dice mechanics too and it fits CR campaigns better too since their campaigns rely on the story more nowadays. Also the new 5e changes are bad. With the One Shot next year it does sound like C4 will still be in Exandria but with Daggerheart. That doesn't mean they will stop having D&D on the channel tho, there's plenty of side content that they can keep doing with D&D, like One Shots, collabs and even shorter campaigns similar To Exandria Unlimited
@@ffreed I'm right there with you. I've been in D&D since 83 but when I observed their first Daggerheart game I was impressed. I could see there were a lot of kinks to work out but the potential was there, especially when you see a group of 7 players go through 3 combats in one session. Daggerheart doesn't have a lot of the legacy baggage D&D has, especially when it comes to magic.
Are you terrified of the new Daggerheart adversaries? Have you considered backing the Trench Crusade kickstarter? Let us know in the comments!
Soooo many great RPG's out in the last few years.
@@TheCharacterSheet I showed the images of the new adversaries to my Daggerheart players and did some evil GM cackling in their direction. T’was fun.

On the plus side we suspect you will get a whole new world to fall in love with for whatever their next D&D campaign winds up being!

The Crit Role setting books are some of the best setting books for DnD.

That is something we didn't know! We will definitely reach out to Darrington and ask about it!

When did they confirm Exandria will become a Daggerheart world?
They didn't.

They never did.
Ooh, got it just after the upload, nice.
Love to see it!
is the oracle of doom what happens to the raven queen?
she has the dagger
oooo...that's a very, very interesting observation!
I was thinking the same thing. It’s possible she could be run as the Matron of Ravens with minimal to no changes to the stat block.
Well, there is another "reason" for GRRM to not finish the book series.
Sorry but who asked for a game of thrones movie sorry again but who
We'd love to see one, if only to get the taste of the series ending out of our mouths.
The vail guard stuff aged extremely poorly
So, they're using the Daggerheart game setting for Campaign 4? That would be interesting, wondering how much more episodes until Campaign 3 is over?
Well, for at least one of their next campaigns. We still assume they will have both a daggerheart and a D&D campaign next year, but we could be wrong!
@@TheCharacterSheet We'll have to wait and see then.
