WOOD WALL:
I used 1x2 select pine boards (you could use the cheaper boards with knots if you're going for a more rustic look though!). I first applied a paint wash with very watered down beige paint I had on hand. For the stain I used a 50:50 mix of minwax's water based semitransparent stain in the colors American Walnut and Colonial Maple.

Ok answering our most asked question here... why didn't we just flip the boards over? It was mostly a time issue! We were on a bit of a deadline with this project, and the nails weren't coming out easily or cleanly, which would mean more filling and sanding. I can still reuse them later, but for time's sake, we saved ourselves some stress and a few hours of work and decided to just spend the extra $40 on wood!
Is nice if the boards are not simetric, for me.I do this, but not in all wall and diferent, but is niče, kiss from Slovenije, one small country in EU, near Itali, 15 minuts, congratulations and sorry for my English

I have several pieces that I want to add a base to. My boyfriend is more handy with wood skills, so I hope we can use your videos to help us make your beautiful bases.
I hope you invested in a pin (finishing) nailer! I'm not a fan of hiding the darker splotches in the middle of the lower wall with your bed. I do love the nightstands and the dresser that you refinished/updated - they are gorgeous. And I think the bedside sconces are perfect. I am not a fan of replacing something merely because it is 4 or 5 years old that still works in the space and looks great.

Hey Rose, thanks! It was honestly mostly a time issue. We had a bit of a tight deadline getting this finished and were already behind. The nails weren’t coming out easily and leaving bigger splintered holes 😅 they’ll be fine for another project though!
