    Correction (2:23): DR cr LP is even better than DR cr MP if it's in range. You can also do a H charged knuckle after Drive Rush to punish counter a lot of medium or heavy normals.
    Correction (3:32): st MK is also amazing for winning the drive gauge war. You can put a lot of pressure on them if they're about be in burnout.

    Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere, but as of Season 2, Luke's level 1 can be really bad as an anti-projectile (depending on the range and reaction time). They extended the hurtbox on it, and in my experience 9 times out of 10 the enemy's projectile hits me before the super goes off, wasting my level 1.

    3:44, I know this vid is a bit old, but 5HP is actually best done into light sandblast. That's because, the better plays will parry the 2nd hit, perfect parry the 2nd hit into DR, I've even seen people DP or lvl3 through these. 5HP is actually a great neutral button, it's Luke's farthest reaching normal (sans 6HP, move is awful in neutral), only 1f slower than 5MP but has pushbox on frame 2 which means if you are in range you can't walk this back, I commented on your other vid 5MP you have to be careful with it appears on like frame 6 or something.
    Also, 2MP buffer DR 4HK, probably a broken string cannot be understated. This thing will hit extended hurtboxes on CH, whiff punish, and be super hard to whiff punish. It's honestly, one of the few things in Luke's toolkit that is quite busted (mostly due to how safe it is and it nets 3000+ damage)

    • @jeako777
      @jeako777  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah I switched to almost only doing L Sandblast recently because people are starting to perfect parry my M/H Sandblast. Technically they have to guess between M and H and adjust their timing because of the different startups, but I just play it safe with the L version. Although I can‘t stop doing H sandblast in the corner tho lmao.
      2MP is so stupid man lmao. Sometimes it‘s the only move you need to use, it‘s ridiculous.

    • @saado99
      @saado99 11 месяцев назад

      @@jeako777 yea personally, I would never even use 5HP HP sandblast anymore, it's good at low level, even the average master will parry it, you want to keep their drive gauge going down. At sort of mid range, you can get away with 5HP MP sandblast because LP sandblast can be unsafe when done too close, but yea. 5HP LP sandblast is very important for the character I would say. Again, 5MP is better when you actually 'expect' it to hit... 5HP is more stable because it does guaranteed 1400 on hit, on block it's safe and takes away a ton of drive meter. Also the pushbox thing I mentioned. I'll make a vid to demonstrate what I mean, I've known about this for months and why I do use 5MP but am careful with the move.
      Yea 2MP is busted for sure. I guess it's to make up for his lack of reach on some of his normals vs other characters. My gripe is how safe it is to just buffer it into DR, it's really dumb.

    • @jeako777
      @jeako777  11 месяцев назад

      @@saado99 yeah you‘re right, I should probably stop canceling into H sandblast for good. Players here in 1700 MR aren‘t quite good at dealing with it yet but I don‘t wanna rely on this long term.
      And yeah there‘s a nice sweetspot range where M sandblast is a true blockstring but also safe on block. Usually around the range where L sandblast is unsafe.
      I wasn‘t aware that 5MP’s pushbox kicked in so late but now it makes sense when I think about it. It tends to whiff more than you‘d think when you try to space it.

    • @saado99
      @saado99 11 месяцев назад

      @@jeako777 I feel you, I just got to 1900MR from a grind. I've seen people do lvl3 through it, Ken OD shoryu through the gap, and pretty much always parrying after, sometimes literally perfect parry into a sweep. 5HP is best at max range for sure, I would try to get a feel of that moves range. I hardly even see Japanese Lukes use 5MP, they use 5HP more.
      And yea, if you have the hitbox info take a look at it. Put the game at 50% speed and look for the greybox on his normals. You'll notice it appears super late for 5MP. It's very important to remember because walking backwards is constantly done in neutral. In addition it also has in general slightly shorter range than 5HP. Not saying don't use it, definitely use it for sure but just be aware of these nuances. It's best used again when you actually expect it to hit, meaning they walkup to it or you expect it to counterhit. Otherwise yea it can whiff easily and you'll notice that in general in gameplay, which is why I'm very careful with that normal.

    2mp seems to be pretty good at setting up spacing traps, due to it having long push back and being plus on block, which allows him to walk backward and your opponent whiffing some of the longest reach attacks.
