However, if your opponent does a slightly delayed Drive Rush out of their parry (which many players often do unintentionally), then you'll get punish countered.

Thank you for watching. I really think there‘s not many frame traps to talk about. This game isn‘t designed to have many frame traps. Most of his frame traps involve doing a move that‘s +1 (crMP / DR moves) and then frame trapping into a crLP. Or just doing light strings (crLP, crLP or crLK, crLP)
I feel like Luke is actually pretty powerless in long range. His 5HK and 2HK is probably the worst in the game, his 5HP, 5MP, 2MK is longer than average but the forward movement and fatty hurtbox makes them one of the easiest buttons to be whiff punished, every time I throw them in neutral I get a heart attack, while the reward is subpar unless you can reliably hit confirm, but his 5HP is probably the hardest HP to hit confirm because you also need to confirm into sandblast on block to not get punished, but the confirm window isn't generous at all (Why the hell does Ken get a longer confirm window?). Everyone with long range HP or HK that has combo potential can give me a hard time.
Idk I think a Luke who can hitconfirm his mediums is super scary. And while he basically can‘t hitconfirm his 5HP, the fact that he has such a long range button that can be cancelled into drive rush is super strong. His 2HK is actually amazing in certain matchups bc it‘s only -9, so some chars can‘t punish it (like Marisa or Aki). I don‘t think he needs a fast 2HK when he has very strong alternatives. But yeah I agree that he‘s very easy to whiff punish. People keep saying „oh he advances forward“ but that makes him easy af to whiff punish.
@@jeako777 Jamie's 5hk is even longer, while still cancelable and confirmable. I think people downplay Jamie too much, his neutral button is pretty decent. His 2mk has a low hurtbox which makes it safe against Luke's 2mp unless it's really close. He also has the 2nd fastest back walk speed, which makes him a good whiff punisher.
@@jeako777 Also I don't think Luke's 5hp is unconfirmable. It feels equally hard as 2mp confirm. I'm almost able to do it, just need a bit more training. Modern control is helping a little, but I don't feel it necessary, though confirm 5hp into charged light flash knuckle on counter, DR on hit, sandblast on block is probably modern exclusive. BTW you said high level Luke players can hit confirm 2mp reliably, do you have any hard evidence? I mean it's hard to tell by watching replays, because DR on block doesn't necessarily mean one can't hit confirm, DR on hit doesn't necessarily mean one can. It would be ideal to see players talk about it. I've seen videos of Japanese players talk about it but I can't understand Japanese language. Angrybird tried to hit confirm Luke's 2mk TC and Cammy's 5HP in his video guide, failed a lot.
@@jeako777 Just notice 2 things that help a lot with hit confirm: Turn off bloom makes hit spark a lot easier to identify; sweat and dust behind the body only shows up when a hit lands, makes it almost as easy to identify as health bar, without the potential need to move your line of sight to the other side of screen. Now I believe even 2mk is potentially hit confirmable.

Holy crap, as a Luke player who sometimes fails the charge punch timing the free DI press on being hit tip is terrifying.

My evidence is that for example Dual Kevin confirms spaced 5MPs all the time, same confirm window as 2MP
