Great content, Natalie! Your ability to break down and convey golf exercises so clearly is impressive and truly helpful. Keep up the fantastic work-it's making a difference!
Another outstanding video! I love the fact you use the down the lie angle for this one. It's easier to see the hand position and how the band position is for a correct posture. You are the best.
@@profitgolfconditioning I’ve saved every one of your exercises and will definitely be using them moving forward. As a more mature golfer who has suffered all my life with back problems and now loss of flexibility they will be invaluable for me. Keep up the great work.

Hi Nat,I have poor shoulder mobilty and so my golf swing is more armsy than proper body rotation. As a senior golfer,I have realised that that I cant achieve a full range of motion. Your videos are so easy to follow, and I fully appreciate your time and effort for producing these videos.Well done.
i'll be doing these excercises right away, i know they'll be helpful, thnx. i have an old shaft and i'm gonna try attaching the tubing to the end of the grip somehow.
@@profitgolfconditioning Awesome. I am a crossfit instructor. I went right to the gym, grabbed a band and did both exercises. Then, went to Chardonay golf course in Napa and played 18! Crushed the driver with the extra shoulder turn! Thanks!
Hi Steve, here is the link to the red band I use in most videos. The thin blue band is half the size of the red one. I found this in a sports shop, but I'm sure you can find this online as well. www.amazon.co.uk/Coresteady-Resistance-Assisted-Exercise-CrossFit/dp/B01LX0CMKI/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3OWIUBLIKO9AW&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.YAbzDiDvDxS9-R518XMa5vviJURApwOB5moZ5Tf4-Q03xXZ-yAGyH--YkowwSlJq8TDL2UiaslEH3kNW8kjB6h9z0M4DkYddq_FTZv84CrPPKvrg1FZ5KtqCoHgyoTVIr1U2jWGENva1i4Cf1_-xENtbxFO8Hy9e0pXDh3NZ_QE633L-xp4_jDg7_1bpbKn4R2lj9_yUlpX7SD5C4jvR_fRq9EyNl3FiSWlE2A9aIwkIXYp6895Q5O7N4owtY3RIieNZ3-KM-omBlZwj4qQUCP-0OxhCeZSGKr_Z07RPKU4.WzWvsIf6bwfWHhdCt-5pThNJafNL8iy_3acYJ9GvEH4&dib_tag=se&keywords=red+resistance+band&qid=1733203233&sprefix=red+resis%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
Hi Natalie the strap should be connected directly to the shoulder joint as the arms and wrists should stay supple throughout the swing. Left shoulder( Not arm )takes up load as the back turns.. great video
Yes! That’s my natural technique. A bad habit from being a junior golfer 🤣 Not necessarily something to copy and I probably should have mentioned that in the video! It doesn’t do me any harm but I’m sure a coach would pick up on it as well. Thanks for mentioning 👍🏻
Do the opposite side twice as much as the side your working, especially in a rotational workout. The logic behind this is that you will over work the side your using if you exercise it then use it on the golf course, causing an unbalanced side of your body. This will cause overuse injuries. The antagonistic muscles on the non working side will be strong enough to stabilize the core.
I normally use the 15-35lb band which is red. This blue one is thinner 5-15lbs. The colour doesn't always correlate. I would go off the strength rating 👍
I'd like to see you train folks to move their head a little as they look at the ball.... saying look at the ball without discussion some slight head rotation really could lead folks down some dark paths.... plus, letting the top of your spin move a little is better for getting a fuller turn, as long as you don;t come off the ball much.
The head position isn't overly encouraged as most players I have worked with will naturally move anyway. It's mainly to stop players swaying. In reality when people hit shots they will move their heads, no one is totally rigid and shouldn't be.
Have you ever seen the video of Suggs shoulder turn? She literally just winds up. She probably has one of the greatest golf swings of any era. She was certainly very mobile. This a certainy of how critical a big shoulder turn is in golf swing
@@profitgolfconditioning look her up. She's consider greatest female golfer ever played the game. She played in the 30s maybe 40s era. But her swing is absolutely perfect. And also Mickey Wright. I played some golf along with Kathy Whitworth and her swing was long and fluid. But Louise Suggs shoulder turn was the best
The pros can utilize shoulder and torso with distance and accuracy-and maintain consistency. For us regular hackers-not so much. I concentrate on the torso part of the turn to play consistently in the 10 to 15 over range. If you enjoy the scenic path of play and trying to find your ball after many shots-you do whatever you wish. I prefer to cap my handicap at 15 and occasionally play near even par-a 74 on our par 70 course yesterday.
@@mkwy8782 I think a good shoulder turn is achievable for most amateur golfers. It’s a foundation skill of the golf swing, which a good coach should be able to help with.
@@profitgolfconditioning It is certainly achievable. What I am saying is that we amateurs falter in coordinating the body-shoulder turn well. For me if I want to fade a shot I try to emphasize the body turn and with the draw I need to emphasize the shoulder turn...and this, for me, is very tricky.
This is fine for younger golfers but for those of a certain age,and beyond, the easiest way to increase to increase your shoulder turn is to lift your lead heel. This technique was good enough for Nicklaus and it prevents injury in a generation who think the xfactor is a TV show.
I don't think this exercise should be excluded because of age, these exercises are superb and will help golfers of all ages and abilities. Keep up the fantastic work @profitgolfconditioning Natalie, after all you are the professional in this area of expertise.
