I had an awesome chase scene in a home brew, one character was carrying another while he was unconscious dodging incoming attacks to himself and the unconscious player he was carrying. other players then attempted to slow and persuade the attacker to stop attacking to give him more room to get away from attack range! its a classic we all remember till this day😁thanks for the awesome video guys👍
When I think of chase scenes, I think of what I've seen in spy movies and in Assassin's Creed. A Rogue sneaks in and kills some important dude and someone else shouts, "Assassin!" and summons all the guards after the Rouge. Given how halflings are typically rogues, Master Assassin Bilbo Baggins, Yo!
Probably would be really scary in the most part of the Third Age, though, given how an ex-hobbit has the One Ring which is the Ring of Invisibility for him! Stealth assassination with literal invisibility?

The first time i ran a chase scene it was boring. There were many things I did wrong. I did have the giant monster chasing them, where I failed was that I still did it like combat, my players were still taking turns. I should have added more environmental obstacles. I should have just asked them how they plan to get out and narrate between my players on their fails and saves.
Hey Scotty & G, now this a video I could chase down! The gold pieces being used as sling bullets, blew my mind. I love it when I get to drink from your fountain of knowledge. (I instantly thought of Under the Tavern chase scene). (When the owlbear is chasing the party). Once upon a time, when I was DM'ing. I set up a chase scene. An adult dragon was suppose to chase the party in to a near by building, (leading to the dungeon). But the party wanted to stay and fight, (they were to low of level). In short it didn't end well. I think they just never had to run from anything before. What do you do when the party refuses to run?
Although not actually stated in the module, the traps on Level 1 were there to keep the "big monster" at bay :) Hence the triggers were on the other side

All of your videos are so enjoyable and enlightening. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Kevin, are there any pressing topics you would like us to talk about in the future?
So glad you like them...make sure to catch them every Friday and share with your friends.
It may be cliche, but I basically copy and paste the rolling ball scene from Indiana Jones. It never gets boring surprisingly.
Mine cart sequence from Temple of Doom :)
I had a game recently with a ball of groping skeletons rolling after the party =)

Learning is a big part of being a good DM/GM and it looks like you learned from your mistake.
God video guys. I need more obstacles in my games.
Thanks Jeff
easy thing to add =)

Some people don't realize they can run. Give them cues that retreating is an option.
It's like the beginning in Skirim.... the world crumbles and you fall in the lower floor
@@francescospuntarelli7369 So true, dynamic start.
1st comment!!!! Lol...Missing the DMG building terrain, tiles. Sadness 😪
New ones on the way
Scotty here, He Gareth has some great terrain ideas coming soon.
He will be back in the saddle soon
Gareth is back..... a good omen... I want the typical cat scene of yours.
Oh no a chase scene with 2d6 like in heroquest .... god bless descent and stratified movement
I can fight a thousand goblins with only one foot!

@@QuestGivers Well I mean its one at a time, you just didn't specify how many at once!
