  • Dry Shrimp Curry:
    This is a tasty sizzling shrimp curry with a touch of gravy. It’s fun to make and eat. I came up with this a few years ago.
    Ingredients:
    2 pounds shrimp peeled and deveined
    1/2 medium red onion chopped
    2 Roma tomatoes chopped
    1/3rd tbsp salt + little extra
    1/2 tsp turmeric
    1 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
    1/3rd tbsp garam masala + little extra
    4 tbsp olive oil
    1 tsp black mustard seeds
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    Here is what I did:
    I took a plate. I added shrimp, salt, turmeric, chili powder, Kashmiri chili powder and garam masala
    I mixed this up and put it on the side for 20 minutes
    After 20 minutes, I took a cast iron skillet and put it on the stove on medium heat
    I added 2 tablespoons of olive oil
    I let the oil heat
    I added shrimp and let the shrimp cook off
    This took 8-10 minutes
    I took the shrimp out into a plate
    I added 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the same pan
    I let the oil heat
    I added mustard seeds and cumin seeds
    I let them sizzle
    I added onions
    I sautéed the onions until they browned a bit
    I added chopped tomatoes and let them turn into a mush
    I added shrimp and mixed everything together
    I adjusted salt and garam masala to taste
    I sautéed everything together for 4-5 minutes
    I added cilantro on top
    I turned the stove off
    Enjoy with rice or roti
