Many incredible singers get passed for it because the producers like to have the contestants who don’t necessarily have talent and are only put on the show for entertainment purposes. It’s a shame but it’s just how “show business” works :/

There is no distinct British accent. There’s loads of different ones in England, Scotland and Wales. Ireland has loads of accents too, and none of them sound like a Lucky Charms advert. A town half an hour away can have a different accent.
