Wow I have been looking for this for many years! I loved Geeta from when I first got it on vinyl in the 90s. But then gave up my vinyl rig in the 00s. So my only hope was if someone shared on youtube. I know the album was released in 1979 but my understanding is that these are Geeta outtakes from 1973. Given that Blackbird is on guitar, and all the Indian musicians, and just listening now to Morning Sunrise, I think that absolutely has to be the case! Great stuff and THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!

Aha! I kept seeing its release year labeled as '1973'; I didn't realize that it was directly linked to Geeta's recording sessions, but now it makes sense given how much overlap there is between their performance credits. Thank YOU for clarifying this for me!

@seashorearchive Ha Great, glad it clarified things. Just listening to it again now. Truly very unique and I love it--this has made my week! To me, this and Geeta are some of the most original world music ever! And gosh the guitarist Blackbird McKnight (later with the Headhunters Parliament/Funkadelic/George Clinton) was only 18 or 19yo at the time. I think it was his first recordings. Thanks again!

Supposedly the label this is on was for tax write off purposes and few copes were sold/released. The title track is so amazing. If more people knew about it, the record would be $$$$$ if you could find one. Took me years. My copy was sealed and still had a tiny scratch on it on the best song of course. Holy grail stuff here.

Yeah, it seems that every ADC pressed record has some sort of defect no matter how recently unopened it is. They're very crackly and scratchy and it's quite a pain to restore any of them! I hope I can get the rest of them finished soon, but I can't tell how long that'll take. I hope I can create a repository of info surrounding these ADC / LoveSongs records to have them better documented online.
