This song reminds me of my best friend Rex whom passed away in January 2018. He and I talked on the phone every day. I miss him so much. Always tell your family that you love them and friends too . I never got to say goodbye to Rex . And it hurts so bad. We grew up together.
@@4leggedfurball I think it’s both of them. Sounds great either way. Chicago ( the group) is really good. Peter cetera had a lot of solo hits as well. Why diss him? Can’t both men be good?
@@michellemckillop8935 Just Jason on this one, Peter had well and truly left Chicago. What I meant was Jsson was a great replacement for Peter after he left - not dissing Peter in anyway.
Abosolutely Right-on and im a Big Peter Cetera Fan who turned 64 this Month and heard Peter Cetera for the First time in my Big Brothers room upstairs in 1970 at 11 years old when Chicago Did 25 or 6 to 4
When I was going thru a bad breakup, I listened to this song and always asked "What kind of man wouldn't want me in their life. Guess I'll never know.. lol. 4 years later , I am happy with the right guy. Great song ❤
Yeah it's sad that it's come down to duf-duf meaningless beats, mostly hate and bragging and self. Sad world we live in now. Thankfully these kinds of songs are recorded hey... Puts a hellova smile on my face I must tell you
De mis canciones favoritas de Chicago, me trae recuerdos del año 1989, aun al escucharla la canto antodo pulmón! Excelente orquestación, esqs trompetas y trombones.
Same, I remember waking up in the 90s and for some reason it didn't feel the same, and hasent since, and now it's 2021, give anything to roll back the years.
When this is a song for God: God, well it's been one of those days again And it seems like the harder I try Over and over, I'm right back where I began But you understand Oh God, when nothing else in this world goes right Oh I just want to run to you You pull me through Oh God, who wouldn't want to have you in their life? Tell me: what kind of man would I be Living a life without any meaning? And I know you could surely survive without me But if I had to live without you Tell me what kind of man would I be? Times when it was pointless for me to try I was more than a desperate man What seemed like forever was gone with one touch of your hand Oh, God, if I could count all the sleepless nights When you were there for me A fool could see, oh God Once that I found you there was no letting go Tell me: what kind of man would I be Living a life without any meaning? And I know you could surely survive without me But if I had to live without you Tell me what kind of man would I be?
He's saying that he thinks so highly of her that he feels she could easily move on and find someone else, but he feels he can't live without her. Clearly she loves him by the way he sings that she's always there for him to lift him up.
When i hear this song,i remember my past relationship, sadly my girlfriend became pregnant and sadly the father is not me,i feel im useless and no meaning to continue living

When this is a song for God:
God, well it's been one of those days again
And it seems like the harder I try
Over and over, I'm right back where I began
But you understand
Oh God, when nothing else in this world goes right
Oh I just want to run to you
You pull me through
Oh God, who wouldn't want to have you in their life?
Tell me: what kind of man would I be
Living a life without any meaning?
And I know you could surely survive without me
But if I had to live without you
Tell me what kind of man would I be?
Times when it was pointless for me to try
I was more than a desperate man
What seemed like forever was gone with one touch of your hand
Oh, God, if I could count all the sleepless nights
When you were there for me
A fool could see, oh God
Once that I found you there was no letting go
Tell me: what kind of man would I be
Living a life without any meaning?
And I know you could surely survive without me
But if I had to live without you
Tell me what kind of man would I be?

who sang lead on this song? it wasn't Peter Cetera....
based on the lyrics source these guys --->Songwriters: Bobby (usa 2) Caldwell / Chas Sandford / Jason Randolph Scheff not sure which one though
@@ScoutJoe I just searched it and Wikipedia told me "Scheff sang the lead vocals" 😁 Thanks for posting the song 😊
This was Jason Sheff's only hit, he replaced Cetera. The band hated Cetera's ballads and they only let Jason record this one.
This is Jason Scheff, off Chicago 19.
