- For your viewing pleasure we have here a 1971 Gottlieb Sheriff pinball machine in action. The two player version of this game was Lawman, which was released the same year.
Sheriff is a moderately fun game with a massive bank of drop targets along the left side and rollover lanes at the right. completing the drop targets when the Special is lit (which lights randomly) scores a replay. Hitting the rollovers when lit adds bonus. Not much else going on. This game can be pretty brutal with the lack a return lane at the left and the possibility of losing the ball when trying to cradle on the right.
Gottlieb's Atlantis has a similar playfield but has more interesting rules pertaining to the drop targets.
Sheriff was designed by Ed Krynski with artwork by Gordon Morison (of course).
I restored a 2 player Lawman a little over 20 years ago and owned for a few years. I'd bought it for $35 ! It took some time to get it working again but well worth it . I wish I'd never sold it. It was a fun machine with all those drop targets and the last one down gives you a SPECIAL. The lawman on the back glass reminds me of James Arnes ( Marshall Dillon from Gunsmoke) Thanks for showing it !
Gotta love them Gottlieb Em's .
Drop targets , pop bumpers , rollover lanes , and them chimes !
Great game! I much prefer the Sheriff/Lawman art and color scheme over the Atlantis scheme this playfield has also been packaged as, plus the bonus ladder fills out the lower center playfield nicely.
Well played! Despite the game-ending tilt.
Sometimes it takes a long time to get a good game on video. It can get frustrating. :)
That one looks like fun!
You did pretty well on a really tough playfield.
the ball prays for leaving
but the score you need for a credit seems to be low, 50000 point
@@TitoCompianni And God grants its request. 😁
Great thing about Lawman is that you can go make a sandwich and use the restroom during the bonus countdown and not miss a beat.
昭和52年前後に山形県酒田市のジャスコの最上階のゲームコーナーにあった機体です。かなり面白かったですね。
Thanks for your comment!
How come you never change how far you pull back the plunger to get the top three lanes?
I had Sherrif the 4 player version
Because I don't really know how to play pinball. :)
TOUGH EM. I'm not crazy about those exit lanes!
Great game. My grail game as a kid and i’ve now owned one for over 7 years. Yours plays well but your horseshoe bonus is not scoring correctly. It’s really hard to dial it in but it should only advance one time for every hundred points and five for five hundred points.
You can actually remove that relay/jones plug from the game and try adjusting the spring and check the switches. Try tweaking it and you can always pull it back out and keep trying. It’s just more fun if the game scores properly.
Watching this over, I see what you mean. Thanks for pointing it out. That game is long gone now.
Every Lawman game I’ve watched on RUclips has not scored correctly on that horseshoe bonus. It either skips lights or doesn’t move up one or five spots like it should Or two bonus lights are lit at the same time.
Mine drove me batshit for years. I finally just cut a piece off of the spring on the jones plug that controls it and it’s worked perfectly for a few years now (fingers crossed). Makes a huge difference in game play with proper scoring.
Is it for sale?
The owner will be selling it, yes.
@@londonpinball how much?
@@chrisnewton8134 I don't know. If you're serious and can arrange to pickup or have it shipped from London, Ontario, I can put you in touch with the owner.

Der Flipper ist doch sehr Spieler unfreundlich.
You are correct.
