"i showed you mercy, and you mistook it for weakness. Now, i will show strength, and you may mistake it for brutality!" is such a cold line from Milton
Especially since Milton is right. Compared to Ross in the 1st game, he is a very inefficient officer due to his mercy. He gave the gang (women, Jack, and everyone Cornwall didn't care about) two opportunities to give up Dutch and flee at much risk to himself. My thinking is that Ross is so brutal and cold in RDR1 because he saw what that mercy did for his former boss.
The parallel of Arthur losing his body while Dutch loses his mind, and how both of them choose to act as a result of that, is such a good piece of writing.
Here we are, the emotionally devastating turning point of the game. The game did an excellent job of adding in subtle coughs and then making it progressively worse, with his face and eyes looking more rough as the story progressed as well, which just adds to the meticulous details in this game. This moment hit us all like a truck, so you're not alone! It was very clever of Rockstar to have the scene trigger near the doctor's office when the players least expected it, just makes it all the more shocking and impactful. But amidst all the devastation, this moment right here is the start of some truly exceptional storytelling. From this point on, the game cements itself as one of the best works of art out there, enjoy the ride 'cause I assure you, this game will stick with you for a long time
Oh my gosh I've never read the full lyrics of Unshaken so carefully... It gives me chills, especially in the context of Arthur and his story. Feeling like his back is against the wall, can't remember what guided me this way, will the hunter be hunted... Too many poignant lines to list them all, phew! Im so glad you didnt miss it 😂 Onto the rest of the video!
The ride back to Shady Belle as the song plays is one of the most beautiful moments of the game, it's moments like this that add SO much to the game. You're left with your own thoughts as you take this long ride back home, just taking it all in, playing back all the moments that have unfolded thus far, and putting yourself in Arthur's shoes and experiencing his inner turmoil. That coupled with the ride back through the beautiful landscapes and scenery, and most of all, the beautiful song (and its lyrics) truly makes this one of the most memorable moments of the game
Unshaken hits me on a visceral level every time. Full body chills? And more. This game is incredible and ruined my expectations for what video game story telling is possible.
I'm thoroughly enjoying my renewed journey into Red Dead Redemption by watching your playthrough. The way you breeze through the game with authenticity and attention to every detail brings back fond memories of my playthrough. A reminder of just how captivating the experience was. Thank you for that!
I’ve been trying to catch up over the past few weeks (about 5 episodes behind) but I just HAD to click on this for the ride back to shady belle. Masterful and beautiful scene.
The ride back to Shady Belle really encapsulates and demonstrates Arthur’s feelings and thoughts. After all the sh*t that’s went down, all the trouble stirred up, all the death and loss, he’s beginning to find enlightenment in himself as to all of this. When you later return to Lakay to shoot the jar I would advise you to also explore the house that’s sunken into the swamps. It holds something very menacing for you to collect!
Arthur's journal pages when finding out he is sick was some of the deepest character journaling i've ever read in any game. The shaky hand details. The bargaining. Wow 💚
I forgot just how many emotional gut punches this game throws at you in such a short time, back to back to back starting at the bank robbery. I honestly don't know how you were able to function the rest of the day after sitting down and recording all of this week's episodes At the end when the music you put started to build while you read all of those deep lines in Arthur's journal.... mannnn that hit all the feels. So powerful That moment when Arthur rushed out of the shack to confront the Pinkerton's... for me, in a lot of ways, I feel that scene channeled the anger that we, the players, had at John's fate at the hands of the Pinkerton's in RDR1. Just the look Arthur had, the way he kicked the doors open and blasted them all in deadeye with that intense music playing Gotta say I absolutely love Sadie's character! What an arc she's had from the start of the game and the early chapters. Her savage crazy-voice towards the O'Driscols always gives me chills
_"Slowly, and then all at once"_ That's a quote that perfectly describes the pacing of this game. Also, the ride from Van Horn to Shady Belle is probably my favourite part of this game!
After Arthur sees the doc, I spent the next several game hours just riding around in the wilderness. Slow and sad, standing and staring at some beautiful something, sprinting and mad as all hell... ran the gamut of emotions. It was hard to force myself to start missions again knowing........
I’m really happy you didn’t cut out the song on the way back to Shady Belle. Most content creators do cause it gets the video demonetized so thank you for leaving it in Kali even though it probably cost you revenue on this part. Also welcome to the endgame of RDR2
So glad the Shady Belle ride still triggered. It always reminds me how cool it is that the game has a built-in moment of reflection with its own soundtrack at a point in the story where we have a second to breathe after how chaotic it's been since we slid on Bronte. Also, after playing the game so many times, it kinda sucks that the thing that hits for me when Arthur finds out he has TB is seeing people's heart get ripped out hearing the news for the first time. Thanks for this playthrough, Kali.
This is best playthrough ever, down to the piano rendition of "Unshaken" at the end of the episode. You know, Arthur's time on this Earth might be nearing it's end, but now his star will shine the brightest. Now you will see why he is both the best video game, and the best western protagonist ever. And don't worry, there is still a lot of RDR2 to play. I mean, IRL Doc Holliday lived with TB for around 20 years or so. So yeah, in the pre-antibiotics age, TB was really bad news, but it wasn't exactly an instant death. Arthur can still make a lot of difference in the world.
"Icarus and Friends" is a nice mood-lifter after the sad news about Arthur's health. It's ironic that Bullard calls Sadie "delicate" and then she does something that is considered very unladylike by spitting.
This game and journey just continues to pull at your heart strings. What started out so nice and happy has quickly turned very sad and dark. And now that you gotten this far into the journey, Arthur gets turberculosis early in the game. ( wont say unless you would like to know). Your content is great!
Fleeting Joy has so much going on in it for Dutch's character. Everyone is just kinda like "hey, nice to see ya, Arthur" while with Dutch, it's a "HOORAH HE'S BACK!!!" But then also immediately "what are we gonna do, Dutch?" First thing is everyone is begging him for help when he is already suffering his own issues. The man has had no time to grieve for the loss of his best friend for most of his life. They only bring up Hosea after they've asked him what to do next. And then of course they're all nearly killed a minute later, further compounding his stress. There's never any time to rest and recover emotionally, mentally, physically. 31:25 This scene, of Arthur asking Dutch what to do next, and Dutch clearly having a panic attack, overcome by the unending mounting burdens of their situation, is so poignant. Also important is that Arthur lets his clearly unwell father wander off without a word. The only person who goes after Dutch in this hyper-vulnerable state is Micah; a shark smelling blood in the water.
It’s a pity that lady you rescued from the Murfrees lost patience when you were looting. 1:27:12 There’s a good conversation when you take her back to Van Horn.
The "I'm dying" part of his journal is so eye catching and all the random long lines on the letters probably from him coughing mid word and having his hand shake on the page. It's soo good I'm sad.
Yeah, Rockstar let D’Angelo play the demo of RDR2 more than a few times and it helped him, Daniel Lanois & Rocco DeLuca write “Unshaken” 👍🏽. I also name the Hungarian Halfbred in this mission, “D’Angelo” haha.
Hosea's grave is dead east of Lagras almost to the bay near where the road forks. Not the fork by the small church, but closer to the bay. If you reach the RR tacks, you've gone too far.
I really like how missions just don’t pop up after a previous one is completed. It plays much more realistically, letting time pass for the characters involved to get somewhere or set the scene.
I'm so glad you got to have the beautiful scene with the Unshaken song! And them some. Welcome to the endgame I guess... You've been laying foundations for 4 and half chapters, not it's time to build on them. Things will speed up now, so now even more than ever, make sure to take a pause on the main missions and do some sidequesting. Especially make sure to travel all the way up to the north to a place called Willard's Rest for more beautiful goodness!
Oh god i thought you would be missed one of the most beautiful parts of the game at the beginning of the video by walking on foot and not taking the only horse that was by the road😅
55:33 it’s assumed Hosea most likely had lung cancer as opposed to tuberculosis. It does become clearer how Arthur contracted TB so I won’t spoil that; the whole sequence when you enter saint denis after guarma never fails to make me cry
Exhilarating episode. It's such a joy, honor, and privilege watching you play this game. Kudos, my dear.....well done! Big shade tree on north road out of st. Denis is nice place to reminisce with old friends.
The very 1st time i heard this song and D'Angelo said: "May i stand unshaken" i was like: "what? Stand on Chicken?"😂 Kali i like it that you made the text in the video for this song. Thankyou 😇😇😊👍🏽
I definitely misheard some lyrics too LOL. I looked them up while editing and decided to put them in for you all to make the moment more enjoyable :) glad you liked it!
Hi Kali, the game truly becomes heavier and heavier from now on like you already noticed… If you go back and rewatch the missions where Arthur goes to the Downes family to get the money for Strauss, you will notice the music is very sombre and has some coughing noises sprinkled in between the score. The game was foreshadowing his fate all along! Also, you remember the Valentine Bar fight at the beginning of the game, where that big guy throws Arthur out the window? Thomas Downes is the man that tells Arthur to stop punching that guy, which is a big symbolism there!
No matter how much times i see the sad scenes in this game, it always gives me tears as i feel myself getting sicker to, i guess i feel that because of Arthur's story.😢
This game has so much beauty and joy, and you almost don’t even notice it until it’s all but gone… there’s still so very much left to experience… Gotta say you really worried me when you ran off and didn’t take a horse 😂 I’m glad they didn’t make you miss the music.
@50:36 ...well, now you know the truth. You'll notice it'll become progressively harder to take care of Aurthur. Keeping his cores up and such. Keeping well stocked on satchel items to power through it is about all that can be done. Just a heads up.
I remember I thought the same when I first played this game and found out Arthur had tuberculosis and it made sence to me why he cough sometimes doing some of the usual things or in cinematics, Even made sense to me why Hosea always said like he was going to die or that he had short time left (the 'pesimistic' side you said about him). It was like Hosea knew he would die sooner more than later. Amazing episode, a really sad one. Keep going Kali, love your rdr2 videos, and I hope your daughter feels better by now
The irony that you're playing this game, when I just pick this game back up today, gonna go back and watch your play through from the beginning. I love your play throughs, just finished watching you play Detroit: Become Human, I decided to subscribe recently even though I've seen you play Mass Effect way back when but somehow never subscribed, thankfully youtube kept promoting your channel to me cause you play great games!
This always destroys me every time i see my boy Arthur like that but you did a epic Job this episode Kelly i really loved it and am looking forward to the rest of the ride i hope you are having a epic and blessed day ❤❤❤100
1:03:18 if you play again and see Lenny and Hosea talking in camp, some of their conversations kind of mirror their fates. At one point, Hosea said “when I die, I wanna be buried with friends.” And Lenny said “‘me too.” And now they are 💔
I was looking forward to your reaction to Arthurs sickness really hits hard the scene after he leaves the Doctors office is diffent based on honour. This part of the game were you as the player decide which side of arthur, wins out in the end.
If you liked that song during the ride, you would love the live performance of it during the Game Awards in 2018. It also was performed with a few other songs which I think you could listen to without spoilers hidden in the lyrics or anything. But if you want to stay safe just wait until you finish the game to listen or react.
Well one of the nice things (if there is such a thing) about TB is that whether or not you get the symptoms for it is based alot on your immune status. Its possible to get the disease and not actually present with symptoms until decades later as your immune system naturally gets weaker. Long story short, its no where near as infectious as something like the flu or cold so at the very least, arthur wont infect the other camp members easily.
YESSSS You finally found one of the mysterious writings in Saint Denis. The others are pretty hard to find but there are 4 more and it leads to something very cool/creepy.
Howdy Kali, You honestly had me worried at the start, thought you were going to miss out on the epic ride to Shady Belle. My first playthrough, I had to pause the game as soon as I arrived at Shady Belle to find the song Unshaken. It was such an impactful song and ride ( I always keep that horse, as a thanks ). Nice job on finding the Poisonous Trail map ( the next spot is tricky to find, let us know if you need help ). You can visit Hosea and Lenny as you leave the north end of St. Denis ( just past the last ranch ), under a big tree in the marsh. The legendary gator is now unlocked, you can find him south of Lagras.
At that situation after Pinkertons raided the camp on Lakay, I agree with Dutch that they should have prioritized everyone first by finding a new location so they could figure out how to properly rescue John once everyone was safe, but the thing is there is no more wisdom in the gang since Hosea is gone and there is only blinded by greed since Micah tried to get on Dutch's side.
This is just my opinion, it's really fun in a tough way, your reactions are still the purest I've ever watched, it's a shame it's only 1 hour 😔 But i still enjoyed this episode and can't wait for more! even though I was frustrated when you weren't riding the horse at the first start lol
many many people hate on Sadie for her hot-head and her vengeance kick but your notes on her are my own, she, with Arthur is one of the only one really trying to help and that's literal in the case of saving John
53:00 This moment hit me really hard when Arthur was diagnosed with tuberculosis. I had tuberculosis myself when I was 15, so I know firsthand how terrifying it can be. Even though it's curable now, I had read so many stories in school about how deadly it used to be. When I was first diagnosed, I was scared for the first 2-3 months of treatment because of those stories. It took me a year to recover, but that fear stuck with me."
I missed this last week but I am laughing watching her run around without a horse. I didnt miss the horse and I am surprised how many people miss it! Too funny!
Howdy Kali 🫡! 8:59 Ever since “Far Away” played with John entering Mexico for the 1st time, THIS is moment is what I’ve been waiting for you to experience, “Unshaken” is my all time fave moment in any form of media, Kratos retrieving Blades of Chaos in GOW 2018 is 2nd game wise, I always get goosebumps hearing the song and particularly seeing others witness it for the 1st time 🥰. 14:26 Glad you picked that up that this mirrors “Far Away”. 9:45 The lyric at the end is “Crash of Worlds”, for some reason many online lyrics say “Crashing World” but then again, the GOTY live version they also sing “Crashing World” but that’s the only time otherwise the shorter acoustic version “Clash of Worlds” also lends to that as well as hearing “Crash of Worlds”using headphones too. Love that like in RDR1 you put the lyrics on screen, also means you got to read through and understand the song on a much more deeper level. 17:35 Sadie…I mean Caroline taking jabs at Arthur in the letter never fails to make me laugh ahaha. 23:00 You first came to Lackay (swamp camp) when you were looking for a Panther a few episodes back. 23:44 Even though you were only on Guarma briefly, does make you miss the family/gang even more. 31:03 Notice Micah sawing the Pinkerton’s throat in the background, not slitting/slicing but sawing it, he really wanted to make the death painful, disgusting 🤢. 39:48 Dutch did prioritise rescuing Jack (imo) cause of his love for John as his surrogate son but that at the end of Chapter 3 though )aside from Sean dying) before 💩 hit the proverbial fan. 50:32 Arthur getting TB is truly where the game takes a sharp turn. 51:20 I’m so sorry Kali, I bawled my eyes out too when Arthur first gets diagnosed. How many main video game characters get told they’re gonna die halfway through the game and you still have to play at them? Not many :/. 53:23 Yeah you have mentioned you were a X-Ray Tech but makes sense why you had a hunch. 54:11 High Honour Spirit Animal is a Buck. Low Honour is a Coyote. 55:17 Guarma’s humid weather definitely sped up Arthur’s TB. 1:01:00 Yep, Clue 1 of 5 for St Denis Vampire Easter Egg. They’re in real random places too. 1:01:15 [TIP] Try Plants & Fruit to eat normally as in my experience Arthur doesn’t cough as much, would still use Big Game for Gunfights. 1:01:56 “Icarus & Friends” as opposed to “Daedalus & Son” side mission in RDR1 where you met Kinnear and his flying machine instead of Arturo & his Hot Air Balloon. Daedalus & Icarus were father & son in Greek mythology, tragic story. 1:05:48 Oh no, not the vapours 💨💨💨😃. 1:06:31 Yeah, interesting that the way “Fork in the Road” mission kicks off is on the way now to see Sadie, Arthur gets diagnosed and next thing, he’s in a hot air balloon lol. Guess this and remote piloting boats wasn’t on your Red Dead 2 Bingo card. 1:07:20 Yeah, Hot Air Balloons do go above clouds up to something like over 1km high and for modern ones, even higher. 1:08:34 Totally get the Bucket List pov, at least he’s not letting his diagnosis get to him and living his best life. 1:09:29 If you replay this mission, as you’re flying the balloon, look around 360 & check the views from above be balloon are breathtaking especially of St Denis, Lagras & the Grizzlies. 1:10:16 It’s true, I had to look that up when I first played this mission. I remember he was an English Poet from late 1700s suffered from depression for most of his life, was institutionalised numerous times. What a quote too: “Variety is the spice of life”. 1:16:00 RIP Arturo, we’ll always appreciate your boiled egg offer :(. 1:21:45 Reckon it’s 2 extremes of her character, the reckless side and the one that rallies people together to get things done. 1:22:50 True, Sadie has shown a lot of leadership in a short space of time compared to Dutch. She also looking mighty fine in her new outfit 😎. 1:41:05 Swanson also really stepped up at Colter when gang escaped Blackwater, he started hitting morphine and alcohol when they arrived at Horsehoe Overlook. 1:46:54 Have done so many playthrus and your attention to detail is just wow, did not notice Arthur’s shaky hand writing. I’m sure others who’ve played this noticed but not me lol and not any other RUclips playthrus I’ve seen as well, then again, not surprised you’d be the one to catch that detail 🤝😊. 1:48:39 Oh no you didn’t 👀😁, LOVE the piano instrumental of “Unshaken” to end the episode, perfect WOW. 1:51:15 Ngl, game will get tough before end credits roll but you already knew this BUT the journey is still truly worth it, would suggest to do as many side stuff too but totally up to you 👊🏽😊. Okay, this post is definitely my longest 😮😂 but was such a packed episode. Hope your little ones’ ear infection is healing well 🙏🏽. Okay, I’ll catch ya later then 👋🏽!
Rewatched this 3 times now, albeit a lot of it in the background while working but have to say this is my fave episode you’ve ever done especially with how invested you are in the main story beats of this episode 👍🏽👍🏽. Also forgot to say, Thank you so much again for keeping “Unshaken” in it’s entirety knowing full well this got copyright claimed and it’s been demonitized, your reaction to seeing the ride back to Shady Belle was so heartfelt & deeply reflective, amazing 👊🏽😊.
55:22 So actually, Arthur got TB from that man you collected debt from for Strauss, Thomas Downes, the man with the wife and son. He spat when Arthur held him up to the fence, it landed on Arthur's face, Arthur quickly brushed it off him, but it was already too late. Hence why when Arthur rode back to camp from that encounter, and the one where you collect the money from the same dead man's wife after the bank robbery, both rides are long with music playing in the background. His symptoms didn't show up until later.
Lump in my throat most of the way watching this. Man, I first played this game around 5 years ago and it still hits me hard when Arthur gets diagnosed with TB. And then when we read his journal. I love Arthur so much. Such a layered, complex character and so, so incredibly lovable. That's why imo, the High Honor playthrough is the most rewarding version of the game. Low Honor is little more than a two-bit goon with nothing much to offer than some funny lines. High Honor Arthur is one of the best protagonists in gaming history. That hot air balloon mission was one of my favorites in the game. So much fun. And I really did feel annoyed with Sadie for getting the balloon guy killed, as much as I love her character. He was a fun stranger. As much as Arthur's illness hangs over the rest of the playthrough, I will say that there are still bright spots in the game. Especially with the Stranger missions. Please go to the Veteran's cabin in O'Creagh's Run; and Willard's Rest located northeast of Brandywine Drop. IMO, two of the very best Strangers in the game are here in Chapter 6. The ways they connect with Arthur are so touching. Oh and you still have Marko Dragic's mission to complete.
Good Morning Kali…can’t wait to watch this. You are doing an amazing job and like how you take your time with the game and by exploring everything as well. Can’t wait to watch the next episode. Keep up the amazing work. You look pretty and I like your hat. Have a good day today and enjoy your weekend. 👍💯
I can imagine the words for the song into Shady Belle being written by Lenny’s father to him, which makes what you said about mourning him and Hosea even more potent.
I always find it as I sign and blessing that after Arthur getting diagnosed he almost goes to heaven in the sky in the hot air balloon. I wonder if it was rockstars intention to have that mission next.
This is my first time noticing the piano playing while you were reading the journal entry. Can’t recall if it played during previous reads but it’s definitely my first time noticing it here.
Make sure you go up North, there's a couple of strangers side quests you'll want to do. When you meet the veteran make sure you do his first 3 then save the 4th side-quest for after the main story ends. You'll be happy you did it that way.
I know who’s talking to the Pinkertons but I can’t tell. At Dr Physicals I always test possible for TB. That’s because my body has the antibodies. My father’s best friend had TB when I was 12. He was sent away for several months. He lived to a ripe old age.
When the painting is finally done don’t forget to go into first person and look in the mirror. And yeah the message in saint denis is a vampire clue. Find a few more to discover the vampire. Be careful cause when you encounter him he can kill you quick so be ready on the trigger. And Lenny and Hoseas graves are side by side, it’s south of canebreak manor around bluewater marsh. Also now there is a few side missions to look for towards the north side of the map. That’s also where the inventors lab is to continue his side quest. There is also a side mission that involves hunting and fishing, after the second part where you hunt a wolf, id recommend to wait after chapter 6 is complete to finish it cause the scene changes for the better of you wait to complete it after you hunt the wolf. Also keep a look out north where a huge waterfall is towards the cougar location for a woman crying next to grave, that’s also a very great side quest
1:23:04 that zoom on the map made me so wary, I thought there was something super important to see 😭 edit : I realize it might be to not see mutilated bodies as we loot them ^^'
"i showed you mercy, and you mistook it for weakness.
That transition scene riding back to Shady Belle is worth the cost of the game alone. I still get chills no matter how many times I end up watching
The parallel of Arthur losing his body while Dutch loses his mind, and how both of them choose to act as a result of that, is such a good piece of writing.
I just love how the game suggests cinematic camera as soon as the song starts, it's like saying" Trust me, you don't want miss this"
Here we are, the emotionally devastating turning point of the game. The game did an excellent job of adding in subtle coughs and then making it progressively worse, with his face and eyes looking more rough as the story progressed as well, which just adds to the meticulous details in this game.

I loved the realization on your face as soon as the music started to play.
It's easy to overlook after Unshaken but the music during the fight in Lakay is really tense and haunting, I love it.
Whew. I thought you'd missed it, but I didn't want to say anything. It mirrors John entering Mexico, but it's much more... melancholy.
I was about to comment same thing lol
I was dying a little inside for those first 8 minutes of this episode lol
@@Nick-kb2jc I had to skip them lmao. I will re watch it, but I needed to make sure.
Hard to keep a clean eye. It all comes at you at once, and it's the one time he has to himself to reflect on Hosea, Lenny, and himself.

44:26 Bro came into barber without hair or beard 😄
Bro thought it was a GTA barber
No matter how many times I see people cry over Arthur's diagnosis, it always gets me
I forgot just how many emotional gut punches this game throws at you in such a short time, back to back to back starting at the bank robbery. I honestly don't know how you were able to function the rest of the day after sitting down and recording all of this week's episodes At the end when the music you put started to build while you read all of those deep lines in Arthur's journal.... mannnn that hit all the feels. Thank you Rockstar for giving her literally NO option aside from stealing the horse 💯
I’m really happy you didn’t cut out the song on the way back to Shady Belle. Most content creators do cause it gets the video demonetized so thank you for leaving it in Kali even though it probably cost you revenue on this part. Also welcome to the endgame of RDR2
Bill really doesn't wanna take off that sheriff badge huh
So glad the Shady Belle ride still triggered. Thanks for this playthrough, Kali.
Everyone collectively shouted at the screen, 'NO! Steal a horse and ride back to Shady Bell!'
I love that you wholeheartedly listened to unshaken.
Great job sneaking through Shady Belle. My first playthrough I was into the character and went guns blazing as a revenge for Lenny and Hosea.
Hosea & Lennys grave is due north-east of Lackay. Just west of the main road between St Denis & Van Horn
D’Angelo was a big fan of the first game and wrote Unshaken specifically for this game
"I'm scared to start another mission" Oh you don't say! XD
Phew! I thought you were going to walk all the way back!
Back half of the game requires tissues to be near by
Oh god i thought you would be missed one of the most beautiful parts of the game at the beginning of the video by walking on foot and not taking the only horse that was by the road😅
55:33 it’s assumed Hosea most likely had lung cancer as opposed to tuberculosis. It does become clearer how Arthur contracted TB so I won’t spoil that; the whole sequence when you enter saint denis after guarma never fails to make me cry
I could see on your face that the moment he started coughing blood, you knew what that meant. Heartbreaking
@@kaliwali best decision ever! It made that ride all the more poignant.
Your understanding of RDR2 as you play it is about the best I've seen of any RUclips gamer. 👏
Rockstar knew what they were doing. They knew that even though the Dutch mission was right there, most people would go to the Sadie mission.
Hi Kali, the game truly becomes heavier and heavier from now on like you already noticed…
If you go back and rewatch the missions where Arthur goes to the Downes family to get the money for Strauss, you will notice the music is very sombre and has some coughing noises sprinkled in between the score.
This game has so much beauty and joy, and you almost don’t even notice it until it’s all but gone… there’s still so very much left to experience…
Gotta say you really worried me when you ran off and didn’t take a horse 😂 I’m glad they didn’t make you miss the music.
@50:36 ...well, now you know the truth. You'll notice it'll become progressively harder to take care of Aurthur. Keeping his cores up and such. Keeping well stocked on satchel items to power through it is about all that can be done. Just a heads up.
RIP Arturo. May his vapors fly evermore among the firmament
Keep going Kali, love your rdr2 videos, and I hope your daughter feels better by now
I really thought you were going to make the same “run back to shady belle” mistake I made lmao. Good thing you didn’t
At one point, Hosea said “when I die, I wanna be buried with friends.” And Lenny said “‘me too.” And now they are 💔
I hope that you're okay and doing well, I can see this episode was really hard on you.
Take care and keep up the good work.
When the doctor told Arthur that he has tuberculosis, I can tell you was emotional
Red Dead Depression has officially begun...
I was looking forward to your reaction to Arthurs sickness really hits hard the scene after he leaves the Doctors office is diffent based on honour. This part of the game were you as the player decide which side of arthur, wins out in the end.
This will be the most beautiful serie of this game i’ll ever see❤
If you liked that song during the ride, you would love the live performance of it during the Game Awards in 2018. It also was performed with a few other songs which I think you could listen to without spoilers hidden in the lyrics or anything. But if you want to stay safe just wait until you finish the game to listen or react.
You were giving me so much anxiety looking around at Shady Bell with the Pinkertons in there instead of just leaving right away
*Arthur returns from Guarma
*Red Dead Depression begins😂
This is just my opinion, it's really fun in a tough way, your reactions are still the purest I've ever watched, it's a shame it's only 1 hour 😔
But i still enjoyed this episode and can't wait for more! even though I was frustrated when you weren't riding the horse at the first start lol
Not surprising I think this game won an award for best soundtrack
44:44 bald man at a barber hmmmmm
many many people hate on Sadie for her hot-head and her vengeance kick but your notes on her are my own, she, with Arthur is one of the only one really trying to help and that's literal in the case of saving John
@1:48:37 the piano coming in was 🤌 top tier editing!
51:49 The scene that makes everyone who played this game to pause and depressed.
There is a timeline where Sadie Adler is the main character of her own game.
Red Dead 3 or a dlc for rdr2
Nooo don’t cry, it’s gonna make me cry 😢
53:00
This moment hit me really hard when Arthur was diagnosed with tuberculosis.
The buck symbolism is why I always run that carving on the handguns once I'm later in the playthrough. My hat tip to the legend.
1:33:00
Speaking of walking through the swamp at night, what do you think about looking for that ghost Mr. Swansson mentioned back in Shady Bell?
55:22 So actually, Arthur got TB from that man you collected debt from for Strauss, Thomas Downes, the man with the wife and son. He spat when Arthur held him up to the fence, it landed on Arthur's face, Arthur quickly brushed it off him, but it was already too late. Hence why when Arthur rode back to camp from that encounter, and the one where you collect the money from the same dead man's wife after the bank robbery, both rides are long with music playing in the background. His symptoms didn't show up until later.
Heavy is such a good way to put it, and the more she says it the more I just think, at the same time, of:
“You’re gonna carry that weight.”
The woman saved from the Murfree Brood having no patience for loot goblin antics is amazing
I put that in myself :) I loved the song so much.
Make sure you go up North, there's a couple of strangers side quests you'll want to do.
When you meet the veteran make sure you do his first 3 then save the 4th side-quest for after the main story ends. You'll be happy you did it that way.
This story is something else
Lovely video, especially with the piano piece at the end👍
The hot air balloon ride is one of my favorite activities in the game. Unfortunately, you can only experience it after the diagnosis.
27:20
As soon as those doors open, EVERY kill is for LENNY AND HOSEA ✊🏼✊🏼
It's sooooo badass...the MUSIC
❤❤
You can find their graves on the outskirts of Saint Dennis heading towards Van horn next to a large tree
Lenny and Hosea's graves are north of Saint Denis, although kind of hard to tell, it's easier if you just google it, it's not gonna spoil anything....
44:55 that guy..clearly comes in there only to sit down and smoke..
* sigh * here it comes..
1:23:04 that zoom on the map made me so wary, I thought there was something super important to see 😭
edit : I realize it might be to not see mutilated bodies as we loot them ^^'
I think it's either Dutch Micah or Abigail really weird that they got on the gang real quick getting back from Guarma
