KAIRAV CHAVAN WINS GOLD MEDAL IN CISCE ZONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 23 June 2023 NL DALMIA HIGH SCHOOL

    The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) had organised a zonal karate championship on 23rd and 24th June 2023 at NL Dalmia High School, Mira road, Thane.
    The event was attended by many students in the age category of Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 years. Every age category was further divided into specific weight category for Kumite bouts separate for Boys and Girls. The entire event was LIVE on RUclips, thanks to the management and proactive approach of the NL Dalmia school management, which brought transparency. People were able to watch the event from the comfort of their office and home. It certianly adds views and brings traffic to the sport of Karate.
    Kairav Chavan participated in the Under 17yrs Boys Individual event for 62 to 66kgs and scored 7 - 0 lead to win the Kumite bout with his opponent in final round which lasted for close to 3 minutes.
    The rules of World Karate Federation, (the supreme body for the sporting aspect of karate at the International level) were followed in the tournament.
    Kairav Chavan has been training in Karate under his father Shihan Sachin Chavan, a Budo Karate Specialist since 35years. Shihan Sachin Chavan is a 7th Dan Black Belt in World Karate Federation, 6th Dan Black Belt from the Karatenomichi World Federation based in Japan under the supreme leadership of Grandmaster Mikio Yahara - 10th Dan Black Belt, a Legendary Martial artist and one amongst the top 10 Budo Karate masters across the globe.
    Karate is a martial art of Okinawan (now in Japan) origin. Kairav trains in the martial art of Karate since the age of 5 years. Both his parents (Shihan Sachin Chavan and Sensei Nehal Chavan are proficient in the art form) have supported Kairav to follow his passion and stood by his side in the journey. Integration of Budo karate with Sport karate + specific mind body training for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual strenghtening is the core of the teachings at Bujutsu, a premier institute for training and research in martial arts, Shihan Sachin Chavan is the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Instructor at BUJUTSU and heads the Pan India operations of Karatenomichi World Federation India as the Leader and Chief Instructor since 2008.
    Participants based on their attendence, skill set, selection criteria are put to holistic training at BUJUTSU, the training comprises of enhancing technical expertise, boosting up atheletic ability, developing focus and concentration with rational thinking and instills calmness which is very important in the sport and art of karate, also work and life.
    Training sessions are rigourous and personally conducted and supervised by Shihan Sachin Chavan for teams participating in championships at all levels, zonal, district, regional, state, national and international level.
    Kairav Chavan, a 1st Dan Black Belt has represented India in the KWF World Karate Conference and KWF World Karate Championships in past in 2015 - Japan, 2017 - Malta, 2019 - Tokyo and training hard, gearing up to represent India in the same with 8 others once again this year in Japan in October 2023.
