EVERYONE FINDS HUGE CRYSTALS!!! Digging for Clear Quartz at Fisher Mountain Mine in Arkansas

- Join me and several other hundred diggers at the world-famous Fisher Mountain Quartz Claim near Mount Ida, Arkansas. Huge crystals were found by many prospectors, along with lots of gemmy small crystals. This is one of the most productive mines in Arkansas with excellent crystal quality. Originally mined by Ocus Stanley decades ago, this site has produced some spectacular specimen that are in museums and extraordinary collections all over the world. This mine is located in the Ouachita Mountains in Mount Ida, Arkansas. It is operated by Avant Mining and open most Thursdays-Sundays. Check out Avant Mining's social media for updated information.

I used to LOVE digging in Arkansas... until I screwed up my back, some years back......now I'm with a walker or wheelchair.....so those days of the dig are over for me (sadly).....how lucky you are to be able to pursue this wonderful dig!!!!!! Am a little jealous that I can no longer be part of this fun!!! Happy for you, though! :)

Hi! I found your content researching digs in the Hot Springs area for a visit I have planned in early November. I have two days I can dedicate to playing in the dirt. What would be your top 2 recommended sites to go to? This will be my first trip to the area and I’ve done some digs in the past in Arizona but that’s a bit different in geography and geological material. Thank you!

Do you pay for the crystals or do you get to keep them?
You pay for entry..we left with a huge quartz covered in crystals...it's easily 150 lbs. You can fill buckets all day.

They have a shop on hwy 270 W. You would want to do the public dig in their tailings area.
Shovels, rakes, gloves, paper, buckets should suffice. Good luck!
