In fact, I feel bad for OUR language. It's honestly proven that our curriculum is so invested in talking in English that our OWN National language is being shunned by the English language.

Sadly, kasi some of the Philippine history is watered down or at worst not discussed in early education classes. What Japanese did to Koreans is horrible in the same breath as our colonizers have done to us as well. Some Filipinos just became ignorant or apathetic to these. It's not about moving on and forgiving easily it is about not forgetting.

I hope you’re reading this. I also attended elementary in Phil & I remember our teacher in 5th or 6th grade told us horrible stories during the Japanese invasion, how they raped many Filipinas tortured Filipinos, there was even a “Ma-ala ala mo kaya” drama series about it.. actress was Lorna Tolentino she was the product of Japanese soldier who raped a Filipina woman several times. Anyway, I live in the US now for more than 30 yrs… inalis naba sa History class yung Japanese invasion sa Pilipinas & what they did to Filipinos?
Tapos yung torture ng mga Japanese sa mga Filipino men… tinutuklap yung nails and they beat the sh** out of them. I also remember learning the “Death March” sa Bataan.
I have another question about the school system in Phil because I know they always try to follow the system here in the US. Are they still teaching cursive writing? I would be sad if they did kasi here in the US they don’t teach cursive anymore so kids nowadays don’t even know it at all and it’s sooo sad. And the way they write parang chicken scratch na… mapangit. I hope Phil do not follow that.
