Good Morning Erik .. Thank you for that 👍. It is always nice when you give some background / explanation as to how / why you do certain things. It adds to the enjoyment in watching your Posts 😊. It also shows us that one does not need 'much' to go out and enjoy the outdoors .. and motivates us to do so. Much appreciated .. take care .. stay safe .. Tommy
As someone who's going around RUclips looking at these kinds of videos (as I'm currently working on updating my gear) the background and explanations (the whats and the the whys ;) are really helpful!
Great content, your knowledge of moving in this terrain, alongside nature, and the practicalities of keeping warm and dry are informative and interesting. Thank you.
Is it possible to go ultralight also in the northern winter? In this video I talk about the gear and tips, in reference to my last camping trip in the wild woods ruclips.net/video/5SdeTCdL2zc/видео.html
Hi Erik. I'm curious, how much bigger are your winter boots compared to your regular shoes? You must have to make room for all the extra layers you put on for your cold, winter treks. Sorry if you already mentioned this in an another video.
Hello Erik, thank you very much for the time and work you put into your videos. Your adventures about coffee and nature help me to become more calm in these dire times. Stay healthy.
The time of spring hiking is coming. Great summary of your Erik winter camping and description of winter equipment. Greetings from loyal viewers from Poland. Regards Hiking & Camping Team Rzeszów :)
Thanks Erik. Finally purchased a Western Mountaineering sleeping bag ( Versalite) after watching your videos, and always wanted one. So far it’s just fantastic ! For what I do hear in New England this model is perfect. Take care, Cheers
Great Erik, I really love the way you show us your great wilderness. 9.5 kg is absolutely fantastic! I wish I could live in a place as wonderful as where you live. Thank you, Erik for taking us along. Cheers from Germany, Martin 🤜🏼🤛🏼🤠
Thank you so much Erik to share your trips with us, I'm getting eyeballs all the time. You're such a lucky guy to live in a such beautiful place. Don't stop, I want more ;)
Very best VBL (Vapor Barrier Line)-> 3 mm closed cell neoprene divers' socks over light poly liners. Change to clean poly liners every night. Place inside-out VBL socks inside sleeping bag after drying in tent. These VBLs have lasted me for many years! My favorite brand is US Divers (Aqua Lung in the countries)
Thanks for another wonderful video Eric. I love the style and composition of your work. Do you use a VBL in your sleeping bag as you mentioned? Thank you and stay safe. 😀
Your experience always brings us great knowledge. So many videos of people putting the closed cell foam under the air mattress and talking about blocking the cold from the ground. The cold air still hits the side walls of the air mattress and the air has to be heated. Putting the foam on top seems smart , especially if you have direct contact to a reflective side . Love your stuff. Ever consider a hot tent? I have one and it’s great. See you again and stay safe
I've tried sleeping with the cell foam pad on top of the air mattress and I personally think it's warmer and more comfy that way. I definitely recommend trying it out.
Yeay, found your "talkie" version of this video again, the one I previously commented on. Yesterday when I tried to review a bit I missed on this one, I was sidetracked (happily so) to your same video with extensive videography and no words. Loved watching everything, in the the extension too. Thanks Erik 🏝🐞 Queensland Australia
Hello Erik, thank you for another informative and entertaining video. During these challenging times, your videos are like a good medicine. Don't forget the Holy Moment Cowboy Coffee. All the best of good things for you, stay healthy. 🤗
Hi Erik, thank for posting, it’s great to have some background knowledge and thanks for answering my question on your bed layout it was definitely an Ah! Moment! Already looking forward to your next adventure, makes this “lockdown” here in the U.K. bearable! Kind regards Clive from deepest Dorset.
Regarding to Sweden Erik, I do not use lightweight very often. The winter in Germany under -10C° is just for a few days. So i do not spend 400€ for down bag. For these days i am carrying my Carinthia Defense 4. Stay healthy and enjoy your hiking tours. Alex
Hi Erik. I find those Videos - where you explain yourself and your gear a little bit - to be very instructive and helpful. Learning from other peoples experiences is very helpful. You once made a Q&A where you started with a Question about the potential fear of wild animals. There for, I personally would like to see another Video about this topic, aspecially about animals that one can find in northern Sweden (which seems to be your home). But never the less I really keep enjoying your videos! (... just by writing this I recognize, that I dont really know who you are. I don not know if you ever thought of sharing personal storys with your viewers, but I would be interested in hearing more about you and your background). Greedings!
Hi Erick, first of all congratulations for your amazing videos. I love the simple way that you make them. I would like to ask you something about exped backpack. I have the same. What you did with the hyper long straps? Haha I’m thinking to cut them off and make them shorter...wow are so annoying and difficult to manage...Any tips? Thanks and see you on the trails!
As always , love watching your videos. Got to learn more from your videos. I am trying to improve my contents too. It would be nice if I can get any suggestion for my upcoming contents. Regards from Everest region . 🤙
Amo tus videos. Gracias ☕👍
THank you, Erik. When you say the vapour barrier applies also to the sleeping bag, what do you mean and what do you use? I saw a bivy cover - do you also have something inside the bag?
An interesting very minimalist early spring perspective. I am looking at the same boot for my next winter and need to remember plus two sizes to accommodate the 2 pair of socks and VBL liner. Do you use a VBL liner for your sleeping bag too?
I haven't tried vbl for the sleeping bag yet. It may become necessary for a week or longer trips. The sleeping bag is usually possible to dry in the wind or sun some day.
Have you tried down/synthetics jackets as a middle layer and if so what do you prefer/recommend (and in what context) vs extra layers wool shirts (can't remember if it was in this video that you showed us that you use two as a middle layer)?
Oh... I’ve got some bad memories with plastic- bags in shoes... my mum always made me use those when playing football in moist weather, when I was young. My feet hated it!
From 2010 till 2017 I have visited Swedens Fjällen in Northern Dalarna during high summer with my children and wife. We did many day trips in the Fjällen also in Norway just over the border. Idrefjäll was our place where we took camp. I am now planning to go on a duo trip with a friend for 4 to 5 days in the Grövelsjön area and Töfsingdalen. Doing 10 to 15 kilometers a day before making camp. I stumbled on your videos while searching for hiking videos in the Fjällen. My friend also is watching your videos and we are hoping to go next year in the early summer. We like your minimalistic approch of your hiking. If the trip goes well to our liking we are thinking to go up North and do a piece of the Kungsleden. I know there are bears around the area where we will be hiking, any tips for us to stay of the menu of the bears? I know it is a slim chance that we counter one, but being prepared is better than being surprised. Thanks for your videos, I hope I will watch many more in the future. Save travels to you.
Good Morning Erik ..

As someone who's going around RUclips looking at these kinds of videos (as I'm currently working on updating my gear) the background and explanations (the whats and the the whys ;) are really helpful!
Erik, you should write a book. I think the way you express yourself through narration would come out well in writing.
You are absolutely right 👍🏼 I would buy it immediately. Or get the audiobook, read by Erik 😉
100%. Eric could write a best seller regarding outdoor adventures and appreciation of the simple things that nature offers!
"I hope you enjoyed this little guide through the wild forest". I did, very much. always glad when you post a new film.
Great content, your knowledge of moving in this terrain, alongside nature, and the practicalities of keeping warm and dry are informative and interesting. Thank you.

I notice that you are changing a bit the style in your last videos
Hi Erik. I'm curious, how much bigger are your winter boots compared to your regular shoes? You must have to make room for all the extra layers you put on for your cold, winter treks. Sorry if you already mentioned this in an another video.

Grateful for your videos. Be well and take good care.
Astonishing beauty! Thanks for sharing your experiences
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe at this time.
As always, excellent educational video, thank you Erik and be safe.
Tack för att du delade detta med oss. Det är svåra tider i Södra Sverige och vi behöver all distraktion vi kan få
I enjoyed you narrating a previous video. It helps us understand your approach and reasoning on matters.
Hello Erik, thank you very much for the time and work you put into your videos. Your adventures about coffee and nature help me to become more calm in these dire times. Stay healthy.
Kala Erik. Svarar på mycket frågor detta är så informativt och hjälper så mycket när man precis startat upp som jag. 👍🏻

I enjoyed! Stay safe and keep the videos coming. Greetings from Bulgaria.
I’ve used the plastic bag in my boots as well. Makes a huge difference. Thanks for sharing and stay safe during these difficult times.
crazyhorsejohnny1974 Doesn't the feet get cold due to moist/damp inner layer inside the bag?
Nice and cool to watch. Here we are always confined.
Confiné mais avec un campement bushcraft dans ta maison 😂
Sunday Morning. A holy moment. ☕️👍🏻
Great Erik, I really love the way you show us your great wilderness. 9.5 kg is absolutely fantastic! I wish I could live in a place as wonderful as where you live. Thank you, Erik for taking us along. Cheers from Germany, Martin 🤜🏼🤛🏼🤠

Thank you Erik. Stay safe, Martin
Hi Erik,

Fantastic. Thanks for explaining the plastic bag.
Very nice. Your English is very good. (Better than some of my neighbors here in the U.S.)
Thank you so much Erik to share your trips with us, I'm getting eyeballs all the time.
You're such a lucky guy to live in a such beautiful place.

Yep I’ll be joining you Erik 👍🏻👏🏻
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Keep up the good work, love your videos 👍
It's good to hear from someone who has experience. You know what's work and doesn't. Thanks, Eric! God bless you!
Thank you for explaining your gear loved the video
Danke für deine Tipps und diesen wunderbaren short Film 📽 🏆 viele Grüße Gennaro

Love your narration. Thank you for these beautiful videos.
Cup of coffee, and an Erik Normark video........👍🏻
Always a pleasure erik...
Thanks for another wonderful video Eric. I love the style and composition of your work. Do you use a VBL in your sleeping bag as you mentioned?
Thank you and stay safe. 😀
Thanks Nick . I haven't used it in the sleeping bag yet. It is usually y more easy to dry than the boots in the sun or wind.
Tack Erik, I enjoyed it very much! Ser fram emot fler filmer! Härligt med vårvintern, en av favoritårstiderna!

Great tips. 😊
Love your work. Thank you!👍
Hi Erik, wondering what make your blue down jacket is? Your videos are fantastic, thank you.
Alltid lika trevliga filmer Erik. Det är inte så mycket krusiduller utan du går bara ut o lägger dig.

I've got a few Western Mountaineering bags also. Good quality
Erik, like so many others, you have inspired me! I've got my pads and my Winter sleeping bag is on it's way. Can you tell me about your blue bivy bag?
SO GOOD..... HUGS

Thanks for the video. I was wondering what type of fuel used in the alcohol stove?
Regards, Mark
Hey Erik. Hope you're well. What sleeping pad (mattress) and bivy are you using in this video? Do you find they work well?
Have you tried down/synthetics jackets as a middle layer and if so what do you prefer/recommend (and in what context) vs extra layers wool shirts (can't remember if it was in this video that you showed us that you use two as a middle layer)?
Tack för video och trevligt att höra din röst. Har du nån lista med utrustning du använder? Snygga prylar)

What is the brand of air mat you use, I had to return one that deflated by morning - need to find a better alternative. Thanks, Gavin
Awesome, dood.
Awesome 👍
I like your kettle. What kind?
