opn the surface of it, a good point, but most folk like myself,m simply actually enjoyed the video. i really like jack dee's style. what the problem seems to mostly be is pro-unionist folk jumping in a stirring up shit. (as per usual)
Live, from Wembley, the international miserable sod of the year championship of the world. In the blue corner, from England, Jack Dee, in the red corner, from Scotland, Victor Meldrew!
yes we all hate each other, but its that hate that makes us all happy. in the UK, we love to hate, we hate the weather, we hate our politicians, we hate most other world countries, and there is no stronger hate in this world that the natural loving hate for each other. without that hate, what are we.... canadian, think about that
speak for yourself...... scottish independence in the modern sense was never about hate, and certainly never about hate of the english (but for backwards idiots), but a mistrust and hatred for wesminter itself, and the crown, and thei ever growing selling out to corporate entities. more folk are waking up to what has been happening under our feet. being a unionist is now really being pretty blind and backwards and supportive of forces thjat'll REALLY screw us and sell the ground from right under us, so to speak.
womble dung you'd rather sell out to foreign corporations via the EU - double the corruption/lobbying etc but so long as it's not the English ripping you off etc etc... wake up!
All of these people saying "Scottish independence is coming, the people want it" don't seem to understand what democracy is. Yes, 45% voted yes but 55% voted no. In a democracy, if a party you don't like win, you can't just immediately demand a new election. That isn't how it works. I acknowledge that one day Scotland may very well have a majority wanting independence- but they don't yet.
Exactly! To be honest, if they can't comprehend the concept of democracy and voting, are they really smart enough to be allowed to vote in the first place? If Scottish Independence is as certain as these people make out it is, then the yes voters would've won, but they didn't, so it's fairly obvious that a majority of people in Scotland don't think it's a good idea.
ExplodingJellybabies we will let you know ,that was a trap to see what the opposition had in its arsenal next time we won't ask we will just do it ha ha as i said we will drop you a line
ExplodingJellybabies I see the point you are making. However, of that 55% , there may well be a small % of people who wanted to vote Yes but weren't convinced. There is, unless of course something changes dramatically, more of a chance of a swing to Yes than No. And politics moves fast. Lets see what 5 Tory years does to change the mindset. 55% is not a large majority by any stretch of the imagination in a Yes/No situation. Despite all we hear about this "convincing/decisive win" rhetoric.
Keith Rose the reason you don't get a vote is because the pound is propped up by north sea oil .. christ you English know nothing! Do you think Westminster is holding onto Scotland because they like us? ffs, yous will never get that vote!!
HappyQuails..Sorry 2contradict the other listeners 2funny man Jack dee..(and he is funny)The last line was"you wanted Independunce"which 2my ear rymes wth C..ts..Or if u like..See u next Tuesday...Just a theory frm London Transplant living in the U.S..
John Benton Yes I know, what's your point? And you call NI the crappy part yet ROI had to be bailed out by the EU a few years ago because they couldn't look after themselves.
+HRHooChicken As somebody who comes from a working class area of Yorkshire, I understand feeling like your community has been destroyed by Westminster. We in Selby used to be prosperous from mining and textiles but times have changed. I'm pretty sure the SNP would do better at looking after unions and the traditional working class industries than the Tories. You're not entitled to make judgments about the rest of my politics. Who I liked for the Lab leadership is none of your business.
Universal Compassion The unions had too much power back before Thatcher. Look what they did, they brought things to a standstill and for what? To make our industrial decline more painful? Our economy has shifted as we've advanced. We don't want harsh mucky industries any more. If we did, we'd work for peanuts in crappy conditions like the Chinese do. The RMT still needs work. It's ridiculous how that union can bring London to a halt for illogical reasons, like the replacement of people with machines. They're acting out of self-interest like all unions often do. The Miner's union did the same by resisting the closure of loss-making pits for the sake of retaining members. And if you're not a Corbyn lover then I'm a Liberal Democrat lol. Also, how do you know where I live :P I'm not Irish but I'm a massive unionist.
Good performance. Jack Dee's quality. What the English don't realise, is that we are not necessarily against their people. We are against a backwards monarchy and an appalling government. People are easily divided but we share soil. An ancient Roman wall divides us. Yes to independence, we'll take some of the northern English as well if it was up to the people.
The Scots didn't invent the Steam Engine. James watt was a Scot living in England, but he only made changes to it, he didn't invent it. The first commercially successful true engine, in that it could generate power and transmit it to a machine, was the atmospheric engine, invented by Englishman Thomas Newcomen around 1712.
Incorrect only 38% of the total Scottish electorate voted YES the rest either didn't bother voting or voted NO - in fact of the 38% the figure the bulk come from Glasgow or Dundee . Significantly Glasgow had one of the lowest turn outs of the referendum. Out with this area the NO vote was by far the stronger. So in effect the only place the YES vote held up was in the cities with a strong Irish heritage (including the religious bigotry) which are in truth quite different from the rest of Scotland. No to mention that roughly one in ten living in Scotland are English ( a number growing) which will always far outnumber the SNP and the so called Irish Scots put together.
in that scenario the leave vote is also the loser, not voting doesn't mean its a vote for independence. Its a 'im not bothered' you can't just pretend theyd all vote the way you wish.. end of the day remain got more votes regardless of what ridiculous spin you try to put on it
@@jnes624 the law should say all those eligible to vote must vote on the issue of separation from the rest of the uk. must vote on the issue not wake up and suddenly its all done by a minority. It has to be a joint venture, by whole population. Otherwise its a fix.
I see a lot of "better together" peeps on here..45% voted yes,the SNP are now the 3rd biggest party in the UK so you keep all your smart fkn comments because Scotland will be Independant one day,it maybe will take 5 years but its coming..
Veritas Accendo Via you know aswell as i do that 45% is widely considerd the number, people dont go about saying we are the 44.8%...a very immature attempt on your part
The internet (american invention) is the simple idea of connecting multiple computers together allowing for communication. World Wide Web (British invention) is the idea of a server hosted platform (similar to a mainframe) that allows multiple computers to connect to allowing uploading and downloading. the WWW is a lot more complex than an internet hence the reason it was invented many years after the internet.
The idea of comedy is to have a laugh and not take it too seriously. -.-
Tx Ricky Kelly for sharing Jack Dee, t'ts an all - I just loved all of it!!! :)
Brave man. Tough gig for an Englishman
how?
i know what you mean, but to be ho9nest, most scottish folk dont have any issues with the enlgish people, it is westminster we dont like.
Quite literally full, but for Caroline Lucas and a few others.
No, but the Tories are British Nationalists.
They're selfserving traitors of the 1%.
Brilliant from Jack, original and hilarious, I voted yes, but I loved the sentiments.

Would someone please explain to this hopeless American the very last word that he sang? It shot clear over my head.
It wasn't a word, it was just meaningless noises. But it's funny because the word you THINK he was going to rhyme was 'pricks'.
