- My first time in Europe starting with London, England. Here’s some of my first impressions as an American. We spent only a few nights here. Would definitely want to visit again as a solo traveler and check out more sites and vegan restaurants.

What was the negative American dislike that you experienced?
The dislike for Americans thing is most of the world not just a London thing 😂. Most Americans are perfectly fine people but sadly a loud minority who act like they are superior than the rest of the world can give the whole country a bad reputation.
London is amazing ❤
The area in the West End known as Soho, derives its name from a hunting cry from when the area still used to be fields. (South of Horton is I think in New York).

Buckingham Palace is actually huge -just the front facade is an extension added on in the 20th Century. The complex stretches far back, and has nearly 800 rooms, and is one of 6 royal palaces (and about 30 if including smaller ones). The largest is Windsor Castle with over 1,000 rooms. Also Soho is the original one -it's named after a hunting cry when the area was deer grounds for the king 500 years ago.
Why do ALL American travel blogs involve a trip to either McDonalds or Starbucks?!
To compare how they are at home.
It can be very intimidating being in a new country, so a small part of home is probably a welcome relief.

@@antonyware9887 I agree, I live in the UK. But it is natural curiosity to compare something abroad to how it is at home.
We did the same when we went to New York and Detroit
So, you’re a vegan. How was London ?
Sadly an awful lot of American visitors and other foreign nationals must think London is the U.K, as if it’s a walled city they have to stay within and never venture beyond. In truth there’s so much more of the U.K to visit and much more historical. When you venture out everything will be so much cheaper at a slower pace and the people are more welcoming and friendly.
It’s the tube but the subway / it’s the pavement not the sidewalk. London is much much larger than just the central area you stayed… personally I wouldn’t stay off Bond St but I can’t argue it’s central …

Was that parle pantry in Chiswick? Did you walk up from Turnham green? My old stomping grounds, I get back there yearly! If you visit london again, I’ve a list as long as your arm for alternative places to visit! Also the anti American thing, can often just be just banter, take it with a pinch of salt, most people will like you (but not US politics). When I lived in the US as a Brit I got verbally bashed all the time, but realized people didn’t really mean it! Just banter. And every third person I met would try do a terrible Brit accent at me, “ello guyuvnr” etc 😂
Richmond is my town! Love Tide Tables. Been going there for years. The food is sensational. All Fair Trade, vegetarian, organic, locally made cakes, sweet pastries and savoury pies, incredible smoothies and juices.
You packed a lot into your five minutes..... you should have stretched it out to at least fifteen! Glad you got to Richmond Hill and Park. My favourite part of London.

Are you vegan?
In the UK I think theres a dislike for the US, as in disagreeing with certain things we hear about but I think most brits should know an indivigal american doesn't represent the US and I disagree with any brit who judges someone on where they come from.
Thank you for visiting our capital, London, I've travelled extensively myself and, there's Honestly no place like home ( go see one of our wonderful museums)
A dislike for Americans ! Are you sure ? Mystery to me, I never hear any negative comments about Americans. Quite the contrary I get the sense that Americans are seen as closely related to Brits.

Big Ben is the name of the Bell and the tower is called Elizabeth Tower.

The city, London is so vast a lot of neat places are bypàssed........be less touristy & trust your instincts/friends.......locals if you feel at ease...........you can still sight see if you want to.........

Not BIG BEN ! It's called the ELIZABETH TOWER. Big Ben is the BELL inside the tower.
Shut-up. Everyone knows about the Bell. But also - all normal people refer to the clock tower as “Big Ben”.
@@oldman1734 So why were taught at school that the tower is cslled the Elizabeth Tower and NOT Big Ben ?
@@enemde3025. Most people call it Big Ben because the purpose of the Elizabeth tower (as it has recently been renamed) is as a clock. The tall tower is just the place where the clock is positioned for most people to see - and hear. And far more people can hear the clock sound than can see it. And of course the greatest sound comes from the big cracked bell known as “Big Ben”.
@@oldman1734 I have never understood why they didn't just officially rename the Tower Big Ben. Most people will never use Elizabeth Tower.
@@oldman1734 In fact the main purpose of the Elizabeth Tower is as an archive for all the laws passed by Parliament. They are written on scrolls of vellum.

As a fellow Vegan I’m disappointed you choose fossil fuels to aid your journey, please take extra time from jet setting to think of our dear planet and use you natural energy not take from the planet😢

Vegan food! 🤢 Whenever I've come across a Vegan they practically always look unwell or is it me?

Compared to all the countries in the world, the UK has the most vegans. Recent statistics show that the popularity of veganism is growing in the UK. Searches for vegan restaurants with dedicated vegan menus have tripled in the past four years. In 2017 there were 60,000 searches for vegan restaurants, while in 2020, there were over 200,000. Plenty of advertisements and famous media personalities push the many benefits of veganism in the UK, adding to its popularity.
@@evar7816 Vegan is a rampant indoctrination of the youth by corrupt new world order agenda. Things like fake meat and cheese is highly processed with all the chemicals and preservatives. They don’t want the next generation to be healthy and eat fresh foods. They are even poisoning fresh food and soon all livestock farming will be banned. They want total control on what you eat, and that what you eat is synthetic and controlled to where they will be putting so- called vaccines into the food without you knowing. It’s already happening!
