@@devidubs8113 Our current baby Overwatch 1 grew up into the monster that is “Overwatch 2 PvP”.
They were never capable of producing that as a standalone game. What they are saying they will deliver is all it would ever have been, a string of Archives-type missions that are fun to play once or twice, at most. An entirely different studio should have been given the reigns to make a separate game. Like MGR:R.

it’s hard to say what i would have wanted more. i didn’t want to be forced to wait years with no support for overwatch 1, and i didn’t want all that time to go nowhere. the whole situation is a worst case scenario and that’s horribly frustrating.

Blizzard was over-ambitious with no true direction for the pve, it seems like.
Either that or the higher-ups messed with it too much to the point that they saw it as a cost sink with no financial returns.

The play at 12:40... I think that was a triggerbot. If you pay attention (or, easier, set it to 0,25 speed), you can see he spins 360 degrees before headshotting the Kiriko. Now, it _could_ just be a style play, but the camera movement looks too fast for that, even if he has damn high sensitivity, and he doesn't mention that's what happened at all.
So, could be legit, but I do think that was just a poorly made hack.

Even after 2-3 years they would never have delivered. The concept is unachievable with how Bobby does business.
Something of that scale would require a team with very little turnover and uninterrupted investment.

Honestly no one would have hated overwatch if they didn’t even announce the pve in the first place. They just wanted the clout and attention and to revive overwatch, announced overwatch 2 with some high false promises and now it backfired when they don’t deliver it

I would have rather waited 2-3 years for the PVE content. Saying they dropped the ball is an understatement. They went far beyond that, and it’s a huge letdown. The only thing OW2 brought now was a shop which is overpriced, and a battle pass with many saying they want to go back to loot boxes. The Devs shouldn’t have taken over a year to come out and tell the truth to the people.

The archives missions we are going to be getting were boring the first time around. This is an incredibly sad thing to see for overwatch and something I was excited to see.
for the promised PvE i would happily wait another 5 years. They are basically creating a second game within a game so i would say its worth it. But lying about it and giving us something else is just a kick in the balls.
I like overwatch now, I would like to mitigate monetization, return events with 3 skins that can be received from game

As with any game I'm truly excited for, even though I want it to come soon, I am prepared to wait for however long it takes as long as it is finished. That's how I feel with PVE. I was prepared to wait patiently for years, but no... CANCELED.. why?

Overpromise is real and it's breaking my heart :,(
The one thing i don't understand is why Blizzard won't make their old PVE modes permanent to play, it would be nice to play the old PVE's as well and grind the hard achievements. it would be a nice substitute for the upcoming PVE modes.
Main reason is queue times. Have you ever tried playing any of the limited time PVE modes a week or so after they come out and see how long you're waiting for queue to pop? Usually, the first few days you get fast queues and get to play them, but people get bored with them pretty soon because they lack the dept needed for replayability.
PVE proper would have had the necessary depth for that replayability, unfortunately Blizzard is a small indie company and couldn't afford to expand and split the dev team to finish it and had to cancel it.
Hot take: I actually would have prefered less (but not zero) updates to the live game and a more in depth focus by the dev team on the pve that we were promised.

Probably a hotter take. I think the whole campaign thing is a big dumb vanity project created by a man who no longer works for the company. To me thee project was going nowhere have you ever critically looked at the ai in the archives event? It’s dumb as shit the only one that was half decent was the black watch thing with the special enemies. The ai doomfist in the starwatch event is proof enough for me that the pve stuff has been a massive fucken waste of time and resources that should have been used WORKING ON THE PVP FOCUSED COMPETITIVE FPS. Games really need to stop trying to be the next destiny it’s killing series.

I would rather be playing OW 1 with maybe some of the new characters 100% if it meant waiting a few more years of course lol. Ive gotten used to the second game but god I miss OW 1..... And we have no PvE. Thats a win/win if you ask me waiting a couple of years. The QoL improvements aren't worth losing the entire OG experience
